Red Roses: 05

3RD PERSON'S POV
The sky was a blanket of dark clouds, and the first droplets of rain began to fall just as Ali reached her new hiding spot deep in the forest. The small clearing was surrounded by tall, ancient trees that seemed to whisper secrets to each other in the growing wind. Ali had set up her camp, and now she sat by the fire, staring into the flames as the rain intensified. The sound of the downpour drowned out the usual forest noises, creating an eerie sense of isolation.
She was on edge, her senses heightened by the fear of being discovered. The creature was out there, and she couldn't shake the feeling that it was getting closer. The rain hammered down, turning the ground to mud and soaking through her clothes. She wrapped her jacket tighter around herself, trying to stay warm.
The night grew darker, and the rain showed no signs of letting up. Ali kept the fire going, its warmth a small comfort in the cold, wet night. She was exhausted, but sleep was a luxury she couldn't afford. Every creak of the trees, every rustle of the underbrush set her nerves on edge. She clutched her knife, ready for anything.
Suddenly, she heard a sound that didn't belong—the snap of a twig, deliberate and close. Her heart raced, and she rose to her feet, scanning the dark forest. The firelight flickered, casting dancing shadows that made it hard to see. Then, she saw it: a tall, shadowy figure moving through the trees, heading straight for her.
Ali's breath caught in her throat. The creature was here.
It emerged from the darkness, towering over her at around 6'5". Rain poured down its muscular frame, highlighting every chiseled contour of its body. The creature was naked, its skin a smooth, flawless canvas that seemed to shimmer in the dim light. Long, jet-black hair clung to its shoulders, slick with rain, framing a face that was both beautiful and terrifying. The creature's features were sharp and symmetrical, almost god-like in their perfection. And its eyes—those glowing blue eyes—bored into Ali with an intensity that sent a chill down her spine.
The creature moved with a grace that belied its size, every step deliberate and measured. It approached her with a confidence that was unnerving, as if it knew exactly what it was doing and why. Ali didn't wait for it to make the first move. She lunged at the creature, her knife flashing in the firelight.
She slashed at it, but it dodged her attacks effortlessly, its movements almost too fast to follow. She fought with everything she had, adrenaline coursing through her veins. Each time she struck, the creature seemed to anticipate her, its glowing eyes never leaving hers.
The rain continued to pour, turning the ground into a slippery mess. Ali slipped and stumbled, but she kept fighting, refusing to give up. She managed to land a blow on the creature's head, and it staggered back, a look of surprise crossing its face. Blood trickled down its temple, mingling with the rain.
The creature fell to the ground, and for a moment, Ali thought she had won. She stood over it, knife poised to strike again. But then she noticed something strange. The creature's eyes, still glowing blue, were fixed on her with a look of... sorrow? It made no move to defend itself, no attempt to fight back. It just lay there, bleeding and vulnerable.
Ali hesitated, her knife trembling in her hand. This wasn't what she expected. The creature, so fearsome and powerful, now looked almost... human. She knelt beside it, her breath coming in ragged gasps. The rain washed away the blood, revealing the creature's chiseled features. Up close, it was even more striking, with an almost divine beauty.
"Why aren't you fighting back?" she whispered, more to herself than to the creature.
It didn't respond, didn't even blink. Ali felt a pang of uncertainty. She had expected a monster, a ruthless killer. But this... this was something else. She reached out, her fingers brushing against the creature's cheek. Its skin was warm, and it flinched at her touch.
The creature's eyes closed, and a single tear mingled with the rain on its face. Ali's heart ached with a confusing mix of emotions. She had been so sure of her mission, so determined to survive. But now, looking at this wounded being before her, she didn't know what to think.
She lowered her knife, her resolve crumbling. "What are you?" she murmured.
The creature opened its eyes and looked at her, its gaze filled with a depth of emotion that took her breath away. It still didn't speak, but somehow, Ali felt like it was trying to communicate. She couldn't understand it, but she knew she couldn't kill it.
Ali sat back, rain pouring down around them. The creature made no move to get up, just lay there, watching her. She didn't know what to do. This was a crossroads she hadn't anticipated, a moment of clarity in the midst of chaos.
The rain continued to fall, the fire sputtering and struggling to stay alight. Ali's mind raced with questions, but for now, she had no answers. All she knew was that the creature before her was more than it seemed, and she couldn't bring herself to end its life.
As the night wore on, Ali kept watch over the creature, her thoughts a tangled mess. She had been running for so long, but now, she found herself at an impasse. The road ahead was uncertain, but she knew one thing: she couldn't turn her back on the creature. Not now. Not when it needed her.
The storm raged on, but in the eye of the storm, there was a moment of unexpected peace. Ali and the creature, bound by fate, lay together in the rain-soaked clearing, their futures intertwined in ways neither of them could yet understand.
Ali studied the creature's face, trying to decipher the emotions she saw there. Its glowing blue eyes held a depth of sadness and wisdom that she couldn't comprehend. The rain continued to pour, but she barely noticed. She was mesmerized by the being in front of her, unable to look away.
She reached out again, gently touching the creature's shoulder. It flinched but didn't pull away. Ali's fingers traced the contours of its muscles, feeling the strength and power beneath its skin. Despite its formidable appearance, there was a fragility to the creature that tugged at her heart.
"Who are you?" she asked softly, her voice barely audible over the sound of the rain.
The creature's eyes met hers, and for a moment, she thought she saw a flicker of recognition. It opened its mouth as if to speak, but no words came out. Instead, it reached up, its hand trembling, and touched her cheek. The gesture was surprisingly gentle, almost tender.
Ali's breath caught in her throat. She had never felt anything like this before—a connection that went beyond words, beyond understanding. She felt a surge of empathy for the creature, a longing to understand its pain.
The fire continued to sputter, struggling to stay alive in the pouring rain. Ali knew she had to keep it going, but she couldn't bring herself to leave the creature's side. She was captivated by its presence, drawn to it in a way she couldn't explain.
The creature's hand dropped to its side, and it closed its eyes again, as if exhausted. Ali watched it for a moment longer before finally getting up to tend to the fire. She added more wood, stoking the flames until they burned brightly once more.
She returned to the creature's side, her mind racing. She needed to know more, to understand what had brought them together. But for now, all she could do was watch over it, to ensure it was safe.
The night wore on, the rain continuing to fall in a relentless torrent. Ali stayed awake, her thoughts a whirlwind of confusion and curiosity. She had been so certain of her mission, so determined to survive. But now, everything had changed.
As the first light of dawn began to break through the clouds, Ali felt a sense of calm settle over her. She didn't know what the future held, but she knew one thing for certain: she couldn't turn her back on the creature. Not now. Not ever.
