CHAPTER 19: SEEING EACH OTHER AGAIN

SABRINA'S POV
“Sorry…”
I did not bother to look at him when he spoke. I hurriedly gathered the things that were inside my purse that fell because he bumped me. Ghad! Why on Earth did we meet again this way?! I played different scenarios on how I wanted him to see me, but not this way.
“Here, let me help you,” he spoke and started helping me get my things on the floor.
“No thanks, I can handle it.” I quickly replied. I hurriedly took my things from his hands.
“Okay?” he hesitantly said and let me do what I was doing earlier.
I saw him through my peripheral vision standing straight. Gosh, why is he not yet leaving?  Can he just go and leave me alone?! I finished gathering my things yet he was still standing there like he was waiting for me to finish what I was doing.
“Come on,” I heard him speak and saw him giving me a hand. What? Is he trying to be a gentleman?
“I can handle myself,” I refused and looked at him. Then, I tried to stand up on my own.
But an unexpected thing happened, I lost my balance which made me close my eyes. I was waiting and preparing myself to be in shame in front of everyone. Yet, after a few seconds, I did not feel like I was on the floor, so I opened my eyes. Doing so, our eyes met each other. If before, I was mesmerized by the beauty of his eyes, now only anger was visible.
“T-thanks,” I said when he helped me to stand up straight.
“Next time, don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it,” Aiden lectured me like we were close.
My lip slightly raised and formed a grin upon hearing what he said. “There will be no next time.” I confidently replied and decided to walk away from him.
This is not yet the right time for our lives to be intertwined again. He is the main event of my revenge. But right now, that woman will be the first one who will experience my revenge.
“What a scene,” Sheryl exclaimed in amusement when I approached her.
I slightly rolled my eyes because of what she said. “Shut up! He caught me off guard.”
“Oh, don’t tell me your heart beats fast again when you see him,” Sheryl remarked in a serious note.
“We are not children anymore, Sherly. Those things happened only in fairy tales. Besides, we are just starting and that is not our agenda,” I replied and gave her a meaningful look to assure her that there is no such thing.
“Exactly. So next time, make sure he will not caught you off guard,” she warned me/
Before I replied to what she said, I signalled the waiter who was looking at me to have some drinks. He immediately approached us. I took a cocktail and drank it straight. Afterward, I took a wine glass which had red wine on it.
“Thanks,” I said to the waiter. He smiled at me before he left.
“You do not need to remind me of what I should and should not be doing. I went back here in the Philippines raising the flag of war. After what we go through, I will make sure that we will win this war,” I said with determination while looking straight at Sheryl’s eyes.
“Well, cheers for that,” she remarked. Sheryl raised her wine glass  and bumped it with my glass. Then, we drank our drinks together.
***
“Oh my gosh, look they have almost the same outfit…”
The noise from the other people around me and Sheryl took our attention which made us stop what we were discussing. We both looked in the direction where other guests were looking. I could not help but secretly smile because of what I saw. Well, the show will begin. Sheryl and I exchanged a meaningful look and she slightly nodded her head. I stood up straight and started walking. I pretended to go to the restroom while looking for my phone.
“Ouch! What’s wrong with you?!” she angrily exclaimed when I intentionally bumped her. A grin formed on my lips because of annoyance upon hearing her arrogant voice.
“Oh, sorry,” I innocently pretended to apologize to her.
“Tsk! Are you blind? Did you not see me walking this way?!” she unbelievably shouted at me.
“Actually I am not blind. I just don't have interest in looking at you. My cellphone is more important than you,” I mocked her.
The people around us gasped for air upon hearing what I said. They continued to whisper things to each other. It seemed like they were wondering who am I to talk this way with this girl.
“What did you say?! How dare you talk to the only heir of the Hudson family?!” she irritably shouted on my face. Oops! It seemed like she’s losing her self-control which is a good sign.
“Oh, you are the only daughter of the Hudson,” I stopped and grinned at her. “Now I know the reason why you are talking arrogantly like you were the main star of this event,” I continued mocking her. I am not really happy with the way she talked to people.
“What did you say?” Her face turned red. She was really short-tempered. What a shame, I am not yet in the exciting part.
I looked at her from head to toe like I was examining her soul. “Your family is rich so I wonder why you don’t have money to buy some cotton buds and clean your ears,” I remarked which I think anger her even more. Well, I don’t care.
I opened my purse and got some cotton buds, “here. Just use it so you will not have a hard time hearing other people's voice,” I said with concern in my voice and tried to give it to her. As expected she slapped my hand which resulted in the cotton buds falling on the floor.
“Are you insulting me? Who are you to talk to me like that?” she angrily said and pointed her fingers on my face.
I immediately slapped her hand which made the audience gasp for air again. Tsk, these rich people really love drama. “Where is your manners? Are you not aware of good conduct so you are acting that way?” I irritably said.
“You! Who the hell do you think you are?!”
Tiffany was about to throw hands at me because of her anger when a pair of hands stopped her from doing so.Great, what a scene I am witnessing right now.
“Tiffany, calm your nerves. There are a lot of people here,” Aiden tried to stop her.
“Ahm, ladies and gentleman, it seems like this part of the venue is getting hot, so we may invite everyone to settle down so we can proceed in the program,” the emcee announced so she gets everyone’s attention.
The people who watched the clash between me and Tiffany earlier started leaving and sitting on their seats like nothing happened. Before I went back to where Sheryl was, I looked at Tiffany and Aiden once more.
“Sabrina, Sabrina Wilson is my name. Remember me, dear,” I confidently said, which shocked them
I took a glimpse of Aiden who was really shocked by the name I mentioned before I left them hanging. While I was walking, I could not help but clenched my fist because of my anger towards them. They should really prepare themself because they will pay for everything. That is the very thing I am certain of.
***
“If your eyes could kill, maybe they died on the spot…”
My attention shifted to Sheryl when I heard her remarks. She sat down on the chair in front o me after she put down the sweets she took from the buffet table.
“That will be great, so this will end swiftly,” I replied and looked at Aiden and Tiffany again. They were flirting with each other like they own the world.
“If everything was really easy, you will not waste five years to prepare yourself upon seeing them again,” Sheryl commented.
I did not bother to utter a word again because she was right. If I could kill just by looking at them then I would not be wasting five years of my life. I just turned my gaze away from them and remained silent. I am just thinking of the next steps I should take so I can get closer to their world.
“Excuse me…”
I looked at my side when I heard someone speak, “Yes?” I asked with confusion.
“May I offer you a drink?” the stranger asked. My eyebrow automatically raised upon hearing what he said. What did he think about me?!
“Oh, I did not mean to offend you. I just notice you earlier so, I thought of approaching you. I am Clint Cuevas,” Clint explained and put his hand in front of me.
“Sabrina Wilson,” I told him my name but I did not accept his hand.“I am not interested,” I added.
Clint amazingly laughed because of what I said and put down his hand, “You are really interesting Sabby,” he said. Did he just give me a nickname like we are close?! “Anyway, enjoy the night. I hope to see you around, Sabby,” he added while smiling like he was a model of a toothpaste brand.
I did not bother to pay attention to him anymore and just look at Sheryl. I do not have any interest in mingling with people here in the event. I only had one goal on my mind and the very reason why I went back here in the Philippines. And once I reach and finish it, Hope and I will go back to Canada and start a new life there.
“You are too grumpy. In all fairness, that guy is hot as hell,” Sheryl said with mesmerizing eyes.
“Then you should tell him your name,” I sarcastically replied.
“Duh! If he was interested in me, he should have approached me, not you,” she replied and rolled her eyes at me.
I could not help but shake my head, “so? I am not interested in him, so I will not waste any time talking to him,” I stated.
“Fine, fine,” Sheryl could not help but agree to what I said.
I did not bother to utter any word after that. I just drank the red wine on my table. I am sure that this will be a long night. Argh! I miss Hope so bad. I wish we could go home as early as possible.
