Chapter 27 UNLFA CEO

Nathan
My wife comes out of the suite and my jaw drops.
“Amari,” is all I can manage to say. The royal blue gown fits her like a glove and accentuates all her beautiful features. She has always been gorgeous in her modest attire, but she is enthralling now. Her curly hair is left down, just the way I like. I play with her curls and gaze at her alluring eyes.
“Do you like it?” she asks and searches my eyes.
“My wife is gorgeous with or without clothes,” I say, and she blushes. “You are angelic,” I declare and wrap my arms around her waist.
“You are hot, Husband,” she says, making my heart flutter. With all the wealth in the world, she is still the best thing that has ever happen to me.
“Ahem!” Mrs Gail clears her throat, and I can sense a witty remark coming. She looks so sophisticated and young in her attire. Brian really outdid himself. I don’t even know how he got my wife and Mrs Gail’s sizes because I had instructed him not to.
“You two are pregnant already, surely you have had enough of each other,” Mrs Gail says wittily and winks at me.
“Mrs Gail!” Amari cries while I burst out into laughter. She is so predictable this wife of mine.
“I can never have enough of my gorgeous wife. I think the pregnancy is an aphrodisiac because she is extra enchanting, and…”
“Nathan!” she interjects.
“What? You can’t get your hands off me and…”
“Can we keep our bedroom life private, please,” she cuts me off again. Both Mrs Gail and I are in stitches while she gives us her unimpressed look.
“You look great, Dear. Nathan should guard with his life,” Mrs Gail changes the subject. We both can push Amari to a certain level before she turns on us. We have figured out just how far to push her conservative personality.
“Oh, I plan too. No one is getting near my wife.”
“Thank you, Mrs Gail. You look good yourself,” Amari responds, and my besties turns around, showing off her gown.
“I know. This gown is so soft and comfortable. It brings out all my youthful features. Look at me, I look ten years younger. Malcom must bring his A game to keep me. I think I was created for soft life.”
My wife shakes her head, while I laugh. My besties is a breath of fresh air.
“Well, you can have a thousand of them from now on,” I tell Mrs Gail who is thrilled.
“Shall we go shock the world?” I add and lead them out.
We are behind the stage when Brian addresses the guest and media. Everyone is now seated, cameras are flashing, and everyone is eagerly waiting to meet the UNLFA Co CEO.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my honor to introduce my friend, boss and CEO of UNLFA Co, Mr Nathan Lord!” Brian beams. He has been waiting for this day. “With him is his dear gorgeous wife, Mrs Amari Lord and his best friend, the amazing Mrs Gail!” he adds as we walk out of the backstage to face my frenemies.
The hall goes deadly silent. I see guests exchanging uncomfortable looks as Brian moves to the side and lets me take the podium.
“I would normally greet by saying good afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen, but very few of you qualify to be addressed as such. Backstabbers, snakes, cunning bastads, power hungry idiots, superficial bimbos and murderers are fitting words. You can pick one or two for yourself and pass it on,” I say slowly and laugh at the aghast expressions on their faces. Many of them know that UNLFA Co either owns or partially owns the companies they are managers and CEO’s in.
“Vile, evil and beyond redemption!” Mrs Gail shouts behind me, adding to the list. I chuckle and continue when Amari clears her throat to stop her from talking.
“You are probably wondering how we got here. It is my pleasure to remind you. Eleven months ago, about every one of you here was a very good friend, business associate and more. That was until the accident that left me paralyzed and supposedly broke, and I got to see your true colors. I suddenly became a useless, good-for-nothing, poor creeple, whom you found so disgusting. I did not deserve to even breathe the same air as you.”
I feel Amari shift behind me. I don’t have to look at her to know that she is not impressed. She hates everything I have referred myself as.
“Don’t call yourself that. You know that she hates it and goes crazy,” Mrs Gail warns.
“Stop talking. This is a press conference,” I hear Amari whisper to my bestie, who could not be bothered.
“These people don’t deserve any respect. I would kick all their stupid heads if I could. I will make sure to stump their feet with these heels after this,” she says defiantly, and I have no doubts that she will.
“Anyway, because one of you tried to kill me and stole fifty million from my account while I was fighting for my life, I decided to lay low and let you show your true selves. Fast-forward to this day, with a gorgeous wife by my side, genuine family and friends, over fifty companies under my name, a hospital, shopping mall and housing developments, I have been blessed. I should be thankful to all of you for being assholes.”
I look at them and they look shocked and confused.
“I must say I was perplexed by the magnitude of rot I kept beside me. I was also disappointed by how dumb you could be to get into business with a company, whose CEO you knew not. You don’t even know what UNLFA Co stands for. Any who, with the exception of Miss Violet Malloy, you are all fired from Unveiling of Nathan Lord’s Frenemies and Associates Company.”
“No ways!” William exclaims and clenches his jaw. His company was in trouble two months back. UNLFA Co bought it but kept him as a CEO. Everything was kept out of the media. I bet his bimbo of a fiancée has no idea. She will definitely pull an Ella on him.
“Damn it! Fuck!” Michael curses nonstop. He knows that Marco is under UNLFA Co. He says something to Ella, who pales out.
“You must be kidding me!” she exclaims. “Daddy signed with them too. What were you all thinking?” she cries. She has no idea that I am just starting. Her fiancé and father losing their CEO jobs is just the beginning of it all.
My eyes land on my sworn enemy. James has his hands on his head, utterly devastated. He knows that it is time to pay for his sins.
The convention center is now in chaos. I take a sip of water and watch their heads spin. I thought I would be happy to finally get back at them, but looking at them now, I feel sorry for them instead. They are perplexed and look so devastated because the materialistic things and statuses is all they know. They are probable thinking how they will be broke, a laughingstock and humiliated because that is how they treated those who were beneath them in status.
