Chapter 15 The dance of the goddess
NARRATIVE
It was way past noon when Aithne and Jeyre returned to their new home; a little lovely cottage, located in a small forest not quite far from the heart of the city.
This was the first place Aithne searched for upon their arrival at the capital city.
The cottage was precious to her, having a part of her dearest memories and thus Aithne had hoped she could still locate it and nothing would have changed about it in its own side of the city, given the vast redevelopment that had occured over the years in almost all the areas of Elgarion.
It was the house where she had lodged with her parents when they had visited this city several years back.
And by some miracle which she was greatly thankful for, the cottage was still intact as well as its nearby environs. The owner had clearly made much efforts to maintain it and ensuring its condition was exactly as it had been twelve years ago.
And it seemed as though the owner was waiting for the real owner or as though someone instructed them to keep it safe and in exact condition for them.
However strange this may seem, it was an excellent opportunity and a good news for Aithne.
They had found it was up for sale upon their arrival at the cottage and Aithne had immediately bought it from the elderly lady, who happened to be present at the moment of their arrival and had seemed pleased and eager to sell.
And now, it was hers -- her little treasure home.
Immediately after the purchase, before anything else, she had taken time to tour her new home, and as she did, its inward and outward structure and appliances brought one or more precious memories to her.
The nice, delicate and rare flower shrubs and herbs surrounding the cottage were comforting to her eyes, and soothed her soul in a way.
Even Majesty loved their new home and had almost wished she would be able to sit by the fire place for a brief moment one day, or explore the highs and lows of the small forest while gaining the admiration of many who beheld her beauty. But it was a dream she knew was mostly impossible to fulfill. Such that just a thought of, would hurt her and continually be a reminder of what could or would have been.
And all the more, Aithne's rage and taste for Vengeance against her stepmother, greatly increased.
The footmen that had accompanied them here, were set to travel back to Mooncrest in a few days or a week. They needed about a week of rest before setting back on their ten days journey to Mooncrest. And although, Aithne didn't mind them staying for as long as they wished, she knew they would eventually...no, must eventually return back to their families.
She wasn't about to render them outcasts from the Pack of their origin, even if she felt like one.
There were still many places Aithne would love to tour in Elgarion, but she knew there was plenty of time for it. After all, she's seen more than enough for a first day already. And she wasn't in a hurry to see everything all at once. Or so she thought...

And that night, while Jeyre slept, Aithne sat by the window of the house and stared into the dark night, lost in her thoughts as she reflected on the events of the day, memories of her mother and all that's ever happened to her.
She could see the glimpse of a majestic and towering building far away, probably located in the middle of the city.
It stood tall and proud and unwavering. And Aithne wished she would be able to stand strong and tall and unwavering, when she finally returned to Mooncrest one day.
She absentmindedly began humming the song her mother had taught her many years ago, when they had returned from the renowned enchanting waterfall of Elgarion.
The song was of foreign tongue but Aithne could sing the lyrics clearly, even in her dream. And the meaning of the words she has no idea of.
'When the time is right, Carida, the song would interpret itself to you. And then, the meaning would be revealed... when the time is right.' Her mother had said.
As she hummed the tune, tears easily rolled down her cheeks as she thought of her mother. Aithne missed her so much and wished she were still alive with her.. She allowed herself to think of how different things would have been if she hadn't died some years back.
Abruptly, her eyes caught sight of a sudden movement in the dark night, resembling that of some mystic glowing crystal orb. And in the same moment...
"It is time." A foreign voice suddenly whispered. And Aithne's body stilled, her eyes widening as she glanced around her, her gaze falling briefly on Jeyre.
She wondered if Jeyre heard the voice too. But Jeyre was a deep sleeper. Once asleep, she becomes oblivious to her surroundings. And neither could it be her who spoke just now.
"W-who...who are you?" She summoned courage and asked bravely, even though she stuttered.
"Sing the song, my darling Carida. Sing the song taught you by Ares." The ethereal voice whispered again and Aithne felt a strange presence around her. Her hands clutched the handles of her wheelchair as the hair around her neck stood.
"You know my mother?" It was more of a certainty than a question. "Who are you?" She asked again. And there was a mysterious chuckle in the air.
"You're really a courageous but curious little one, aren't you?" Said the voice again. And Aithne felt a swoosh in her hair, the hair around her neck swiftly standing on alert.
"For you to know me, Carida, you have to obey my instructions first. Are you ready to do that?" Teased the mystic voice.
"Well," Aithne paused, considering her options first. "It depends on what you want." She said.
"Hahaha," the voice chuckled, the sound of its laughter as that of an ethereal music. "You're smart." It said, and Aithne gaze around trying to figure the direction the voice came from but her effort was futile because the voice seemed to come from everywhere around her. "I would sing first then and 'YOU' would join me." This time, its voice had a note of finality that made sure she knew she didn't even have a choice other than to do as it willed her.
And then, the mystic voice began singing the exact tune she had been singing and just as it had said, Aithne did join in.
Her eyes closed of their own accord and suddenly she was obeying every word the voice commanded. "Dance my darling, Carida, dance."
She wanted to say, "But I can't stand up without anything or anyone to rely on, not on my own. I can't walk." However, her feet likewise moved on their own accord. She felt her legs touching the ground again __ and It was an exhilarating majestic feeling.
And as much as she was curious about what was happening or how it was happening, Aithne didn't want it to stop. She was being controlled by a force far greater than her but it didn't matter at this moment because she felt she was truly home.
She felt every tune, every note and every mystic tongue, as she danced, the meaning of the song now revealing itself to her.
And in that moment, she felt this was where she belonged, this was home.
She became oblivious to her environment and was deeply immersed in the sound and tune that erupted from her lips, while her body moved in rhythm to the song.
And she felt the presence of more than one being as she danced, and sang, and they all danced and sang with her.

In a big castle located at the heart of the great city of Elgarion, in an enormous room, a man sat unclad at the edge of his king-sized bed, hands clutching his dark sheets, his head thrown back and eyes shut tight as an ash-blonde haired woman, equally unclad, knelt before him, worshipping his member with her mouth and tongue.
But suddenly, the man's eyes flung open, revealing two sparkling silver portals, enticing their beholders to the celestial realm.
However, like a flash of light, the silver in his frosty eyes changed to pitch black and a second later, the black was gone as fast it came, the silver now returned.
The man instantly pushed the whore off him, not minding how she fell, as his ears perked upwards and his silver eyes widened.Download Novelah App
