DOC 13: CONFERENCE MEETING 01
AQUA LAVERDA
"Hi, Morri!"
I greet my friend who's sitting on the couch of my office.
I put my handbag on my table and walk towards Morri who's looking at me, weirdly.
"What's wrong with you? Did you hit your head on the wall?" She asks but I remain silent and sit beside her.
She automatically raises her hands when I side-hug her. I roll my eyes when she did that.
"Nothing's wrong with me, Morri. Do you want me to dwell in pain for losing Clove?" I casually ask her.
I feel her body stiffens at the mention of it.
"Tsk. Either way, you're weird," I smile and close my eyes and savor the moment that I'm hugging her.
"Whatever, Morri. Just let me hug you, okay?"
I might become busy these coming days because of the preparation and it'll lessen my time to spend with her. So, I am saving the moment but she has to ruin my moment when she shoves me away from her.
"I looked over your paper works on your table earlier. I can say, you need to move now or you can't go out of here unless you finish that, hear me Aqua?" I pout my lips and roll my eyes at her.
"Fine. Get out, Morri. I don't want to see your face," I tell her before getting up from the couch.
My eyes widen when she really gets up and she's about to leave me when I pull her right arm.
"Oh, come on Morri! I'm just kidding! Just do whatever you want in my office silently. Okay?" I sigh when she takes her seat again and gets her iPad from her bag.
"Shoo!" I look at her in disbelief.
What a friend, yea!
I let out a deep breath before shaking my head and going to my swivel chair and starting my work.
"Archery?" I ask in the middle of checking the activities that I need to approve.
"What?" I look at Morri when she asks me. I bet she heard me say it out loud.
"I mean, it's a foundation event but according to this request, they want to have an Archery to be their booth," I explain and lend the papers to her.
She gets up from sitting on the couch and walks near my table. She soon takes a seat at the chair in front of me.
"Well, maybe for a change?" She asks. My brows furrow because of that.
"What?" I ask.
Is that even reasonable? I ask in mind.
"Hmm, oh!" I look at her when she seems to be shocked about something.
"What is it?" I ask her as she looks at me. Something is in her eyes that she wants me to decipher but I just can't.
Can't she just tell me what is it?
"It's Naraka who suggested, requested that rather," my mouth forms a letter 'o' when I hear her name.
Why does she have to be everywhere?
It's getting me more curious about her existence alone.
"Why?" I ask her. I look for some clues in her eyes but I realize, she also doesn't know something.
She still doesn't have any idea about my mission related to Naraka. All she knows is that Naraka has something to do with how did my handkerchief ended up in her hands.
"Do I look like I know?"
"Morri, really?" I ask sarcastically.
She rolls her eyes at me and so I did.
"Just don't ask the obvious, Aqua. You're getting really stupid nowadays, what's happening to you?" I look at her in disbelief.
Morri is just Morri. I can't with her.
"Kidding aside, don't you think Naraka is somewhat suspicious?"
"It's just your thoughts,"
"Morri stop it! I'm serious here!"
"Oh, are you?"
"Curse you," I can't count how many times I rolled my eyes at her. She's really annoying to the bones.
I lean on my swivel chair and play it around until I kind of feel dizzy. It doesn't stop me from playing around because I know, I can't talk with her right now.
She still needs to think over my capacity before we can talk, like seriously.
"Aqua, stop playing around," I roll my eyes and didn't mind her and acted as if I didn't hear her.
"La~ la~ la~ la~ la~, hoo~," I make sounds as I play with my swivel chair. If you ever watch me doing it, I look like a kid who's deprived of going out from the Mansion.
"Aqua!" I shrug my shoulders and I'm about to play one more round when I hear some clearing of throats and coughing as if getting my attention.
I seem like I showered with ice particles and became frozen after a while when I realized that we were not alone in my office anymore.
"I told you. You're really stupid,"
I bit my lower lip not to shout at Morri and hurriedly fix myself before turning my chair around to face my freaking visitors.
Shock is an understatement the moment it dawns on me who are my 'freaking visitors'.
Yea, Morri's right. I'm really stupid and I dare to play around like a kid? In my office? I wish the ground to open and swallow me whole to avoid facing them and my worst embarrassment.
"Hi, Ms. President!"
I blink my eyes and I feel like my cheeks are reddish already when I see them secretly hiding their waves of laughter.
Oh, my ghad! This is not happening!
Their presence makes me want to just hide and be invisible from their eyes.
Sorcha Rai Giacconi from Jacks and Tiana Victoria Rozza from Queens, Asher's twin are right in front of me.
"Hi!" I clear my throat secretly as I get up and stand straight with poise, acting like I never did such embarrassing acts.
"Didn't know you have that kind of personality, Ms. President," Tiana says with a serious expression on her face yet her voice contradicts her. It sounds like she's teasing me.
I gulp and smile. I bet, it looks awkward. But at least, she can treat me like I'm also human like her. Different from her twin, Asher. Well, I'm not complaining. Really.
"Nah, pardon me with that. Take a seat," I gesture to them to take a seat on the couch while I look at Morri who's still reading the papers as if she doesn't have any idea that I have visitors.
I roll my eyes at her inside my mind. She's really testing my patience, just like before. She never changed.
"Oh, it's okay Ms. President. And since Morrigan is also here, we're just going to tell you that we, DOC's students are having a general conference over lunch," Sorcha informs us with her jolly voice.
Expected from her jolly and out-going personality. She's just a few people with that I get the 'vibes' to socialize. She's not hard to approach, unlike others. If you know what I mean.
"Really?" I ask.
Why do I feel like I'm not yet ready to meet them all? Even if it's for a conference meeting.
"Yes, Ms. President. We'll see each other later. We need to go,"
"Oh, sure! Thank you! Take care," I wave them goodbye.
"Oh, sure thank you~,"
"Shut up!" I glare at Morri when she dubs how I say that earlier.
"Stop it or I'll throw this in your face," I tell her as I point to my thick yet small pen holder.
"Then do it,"
"Damn, I don't know what to do with you anymore!" I heave a deep breath and calm my nerves whom she's continuously hitting.
"Tsk. I'll discuss whatever I got from this later. Go, prepare for the conference. I'm off to go, take care, Ms. President!"
"Take care, Morri!" Even if she's annoying to the bones, I love that woman.
She's the only one who stayed with me through the years. I treasure her so much. That's how I love her.
I shake my head and remember Sorcha's words.
"My ghad! How am I going to face them?!"
I literally panic for five minutes straight until I felt tired of panicking for nothing.
I take a seat on my swivel chair and decided to play with it again. I move it around as thoughts rampage in my head. I heave a sigh and close my eyes for a minute and calm myself.
The sound of the clock ticking is making me more nervous than I am earlier. It's making me anxious about what's about to happen at that conference.
This is nerve-wracking.
I didn't notice that I slept for minutes from calming myself when I wake up from a call on my phone.
Morri's calling...
"Morri?" I ask softly, not yet getting on my right mind because I just woke up.
"Are you ready?" She asks. My brows curl up in confusion.
"Ready for what?" I ask and yawn.
My ghad, why do I suddenly feel sleepy? Am I trying to escape something?
With that thought in mind, my entire body seems to be awakened like I'm struck by a lightning in just a second.
"Where are you?" I ask before she can say something.
"I'm on my way to the cafeteria. I bet you forgot. Stupid Aqua. Go, ready yourself. You only have ten minutes to prep yourself,"
She ended the call and I'm like, what the freaking hell?!
I didn't bother changing my clothes. I just fix myself on my phone's mirror and I'm good to go.
"Why did I even wear such heels?!" I scream in silence as I run towards the cafeteria.
Imagine how far is it from my office. Dang!
I make turns and turns didn't mind the students greetings on me because I'm really running out of time.
"What kind of face are you sporting, Aqua?" I go to an abrupt stop when Morri's voice registers in my mind.
The sudden stop makes me lose my balance slightly. I'm glad Morri gently grabs my arm before I fall.
"Morri!"
"I'm just in front of you, Aqua. We're not in a damn mountain, to begin with," she clicks her tongue and rolls her eyes at me but she gently pulls me with her as we start to walk into the corridor.
Thank God, I will not embarrass myself in front of the DOCs later.
God knows how I wish, my presence will just be invisible later, or else, nothing.
Can I do something with that?
I frustratingly can't! Download Novelah App
