|AQUA LAVERDA|
"Is that Uno?"
I was pulled out from staring at Uno Laviente through the lens of the sniper when I heard Sorcha's voice on my right side.
"Focus on taking those assassins down, Chara. Don't mind him, he's my business to handle," seriousness laced on my voice and I can't help it.
When I'm in this kind of situation. my other self that they don't know eventually comes out when needed. And today is one of those times.
"Whoa, chill! You need not be so hot right there!"
I shake my head as I sense her presence fading on my side. I release a sigh and neatly fix the sniper on its safety bag before getting up from laying on my front body down.
"I'll go down. Help them out from here, okay?!"
I tell her with a bit louder voice because she's on the other side of the rooftop, firing her arrows as well as her gun.
"Got it- damn! That was close!" I shake my head as I hear her curse to someone on the field, I suppose.
I didn't expect that she has that kind of attitude when it comes to this. Firing guns and arrows. Now I know that you can't just mess up with her without a reason. If you do? Oh, I'm sorry for your ass of life. Kiddin'.
I run down the stairs even if it's such a tiring job to do so. Well, I have no choice. I'd rather run the stairs than get bored waiting inside the lift. That's not fun!
"You did not do anything, right?" I ask over my earpiece to talk with Von Alas. I can only hear his breathing and I doubt he left Uno there alone.
My breathing hitches the moment I turn to the right, runnin' when an assassin blocks my way. His gun aiming straight at my head.
"Oops!" I mutter even before Von can answer me. I can imagine that he kind of alerted by what I blurt out.
"Easy man!" I say while pretending to raise my hands in the air to surrender.
My brows furrow when the guy in front of me just looks at me, stares rather. He tilts his head to the side as he twitches his lips. He's just wearing a black mask on his upper face that's why I can see the movement of his lips.
I click my tongue when he nudges me on the side but I manage to use my hands to stop my body from being fully hit by the wall.
I watch the guy continue to run up the stairs leaving me behind, speechless.
"Now, what was that?" I ask myself as I continue to run the stairs, not minding my growing curiosity about what just happened back there.
"What happened?" Von's baritone voice almost makes me jump in surprise. It's a good thing I didn't slip a step or else, I'll be facing him with a twisted ankle. Or worst, a bloody figure.
"I don't know. I'm also wondering why he didn't shoot me-."
"And you'd rather be shot, Aqua Cenna?"
I blink my eyes when he interrupts me from talking. The way his voice got cold when he asked that, not to mention that he said my name with that voice of his, made me break into a sudden stop.
"What? I-," I can't find my voice. Where is it?
"Oh, come on Von Alas! I meant nothing like that! I was just-, you know. He looked like I wasn't the person he was looking for and now I'm starting to think that he was looking for Sorcha. You know her, right? That's why I'm curious!"
"Giacconi?" He asks as I continue running down the stairs.
I am already running out of breath but I'm already on the tenth floor. I need to go down fast. I don't think I can remain calm when Von Alas is there to watch Uno.
"Yup! You're familiar?" I ask as I lean my right shoulder on the wall as I catch my breath. I cough twice and look up to breathe fine.
"I just know a guy Giaconni," he states as I hear him hmm as a whisper as if he's thinking deeply about that guy Giacconi he was talking about.
"You mean? Sorcha has a brother?"
Not totally content on leaning my shoulder, I rest my back on the cold wall as I bend my left foot, my toe touching the wall to balance my body.
"Nah. Just come down here Cenna. you're doing a great job,"
I roll my eyes as I ready myself for a bloody fight with the stairs. He knows something and he doesn't want to tell me anything. That makes me more curious about it.
"Just tell me who was that guy Giacconi, Von. I mean, you know. Maybe I will be familiar if you say his name," I am trying to make a deal with him. Which, only favors my side.
Well, I deserve to know right? Or not because if this kind of situation that he's not telling me anything, it might be quite personal or private to tell.
"Or whatever!" I exclaim.
I continue to run by the stairs as he stays silent. Not really going to tell me something. Though, I am already formulating plans inside my mind to make him tell me about that.
Oh, he can never win against me.
That Von Alas Morozov. He's quite challenging when it comes to knowing details that are meant to be hidden from everyone. Well, he needs to defeat my curiosity then.
"Come down safely, Cenna. Okay?"
"Yea, yea. Don't worry,"
When I am already at the near end of the stairs, just two steps before the ground floor, I hear the 'swish' sound of the air indicating that something flies in my direction.
"I think I need to fight before I can come to you, Von Alas,"
Without any further ado, I bend my upper body backward as the tip of the arrow comes into contact with my eyes in a slow motion. It really is just at the tip of my nose. While in that position, I get my handgun in the back pocket of my pants before rolling my body to the right.
Slightly squatting, the side of my back is leaning on the wall, and using my left hand, I lift it with my shiny black gun and fire it in one direction. That is supported by my instinct.
Luckily, the Assassin who fired an arrow at me easily dodges it by moving to his right.
"My, my. If it isn't the classy President, hmm?"
I tilt my head on my left side as my brows furrow in confusion. He seems like he has a problem with me, being the President of the student body. I suppose he's also a student here. Damn. Then that means, there's a probability that some of the students here are wearing their masks and pretending like one.
This is shocking.
"Get a problem with that?" I ask him with calm composure.
I might act the Classy President he's talking about if that's his problem. Provoke him until he's already the one breaking the shell of hell because of how annoying I am to him.
That sounds fun, hmm?
"Yea. And to think that you're the reason why Clover died, it only makes me want to kill you too," my eyes widen with the name he used to justify what he's doing.
But I'm not scared.
"What? So, you're saying it's my fault? That I killed her?" My lips twitch.
I raise a brow when he didn't say anything and just looks at me. His eyes are void of any emotions that's why I can't quite know what he's feeling right now.
"Ah," I nod my head slowly as I casually walk near him. He remains standing in his place.
As we are inside the hallway of the ground floor, there are lots of plants around on his side. I walk past him as I go near those beautiful green plants.
"I supposed, that was what Naraka told you. Am I right?" I ask while crouching a bit to make my fingertips make contact with one of the leaves in front of me.
Silence. He answers me with his silence which means I'll take that as a 'yes'.
"Oh, dear. Don't you know what she did? She's worst than what you think of her! How could you even believe her words that are merely words? That's so sad to hear," a smirk makes its way into my lips as I stand straight.
His back facing my side as I raise my head to look at the dark sky above us. I put my hands on my back as I slightly move sideways to look at his back. I don't know why he's so silent all of a sudden but I need to know how's he related to Clove.
"You know what, why don't you tell me why are you doing this? Your exact reason please because I don't think it was merely because Naraka told you what I didn't even do. So, speak or I will make you do it?"
I remain standing, hands on my back. I am acting like my usual self. Their so-called Classy President. My voice has an authority that you can't help but oblige.
After some seconds. he still doesn't move so, I take one step to go near him when he suddenly faces me, his gun came in contact with my widened eyes.
That's so fast and unexpected.
But not with my reflexes.
Before he can pull the trigger, I already pull it towards me as I disassemble his gun. Pushing it forward and back until the magazines are all on the floor. It takes him a minute to realize what I'm doing.
"There. I left one bullet to give you a chance. If you waste your one chance, I'm sorry, not sorry~,"
I laugh at him as I push him before taking steps backward and raising my hands in the air, provoking his patience. I see how his jaw tightens as he grits his teeth.
His eyes were directed to me with so much fire on them. I don't know his motive for doing this but if he's really that eager to kill me, then he needs to do his best.
"Now what?" I mock him as I composedly stand in front of him.
"Your mistake to give me a chance, Ms. President. You're too confident, aren't you?"
What he said made my eyebrows furrow for a second. Mistake? In what way, though?
"Hm? Is that so?" Raising my left eyebrow, I follow what my guts are telling me to do.
I split like I have a super flexible thigh as I carry my weight to kick his feet. Making him lose his balance and before his body can even hit the floor, his gun is already in my possession as I point it towards the person on my back who shot me with his gun that has a silencer.
They can never defeat my reflexes. Their presence is betraying them.
Even if he was too careful not to cause any noise, the man I kicked was too obvious. His eyes sold his whereabouts. You see, I have keen pair of eyes and sharp senses. Just one suspicious move, you're busted.
"Sleep, sweetheart!" I shot him using my gun. My bullets have a chemical that can make them asleep for a day.
Those whom I shot before? They were not dead. They were just sleeping, having their time in dreamland. I slowly get up from the floor as I put back the gun in my back pocket. I face the man behind me as I give him a mocking smile.
"You know? I gave you a chance yet you still cheated. How's that a good fight, right? Because as far as I know, fighters are not cheaters. They survive every fight with their dignity," my voice is laced with seriousness.
I am seriously making him see the difference between having a fight with dignity and having a fight with vengeance. He tried to kill me, for what reason? He did not tell me but I bet, it was something too shallow.
"I seriously want you to make sense, though. Because, oh man! I clearly don't want to fight your nonsense reasoning without you, giving me enough evidence that I did what you were told that I've done,"
I laugh a bit as I look at him with no remorse in my eyes.
Blank, unreadable.
"Let's just see each other in the investigation room. But first," I get my sleeping needle behind the clip on my hair at the back of my air as I flick it in his direction, particularly at his neck.
"Sleep,"
