|DOC 08: HER DECISION|
|AQUA LAVERDA|
___×××××___
I don't know but I have a bad feeling when I noticed that her right hand was on her side.
It was either she was wounded on that part or she was holding Clo on that because I couldn't find her around.
I looked back only to be furious when I noticed someone's riding aback already escaping from the scene. I don't know if it was a boy or a girl but the hoodie was somewhat familiar to me.
I didn't know what to think at first. If it was the one who hit us with a bicycle that caused me to stumble and be stepped on my left leg by Clo's bicycle or to think of a solution how will we get ourselves on the brink of death?
"Aqua, help!"
I was pulled back from my deep thoughts as I glanced at Morri who was struggling to grip the broken part of the barricade. It was already swaying and I was afraid, it will break because of the weight clinging onto it.
"Wait! I'm coming!" I shouted back before trying my best to crawl out from my place.
I was trying to remove the bike on top of my left leg but it seemed like, there was something stuck on its flesh. Imagining that there was, I can almost see darkness.
"Aqua? Morri? I-I'm... scared...,"
My eyes started to tear up when I hear Clo's breaking voice. It went straight to my heart that I felt like it was ripped apart.
"I'm coming, don't worry okay?" I gently said and push myself to be with them.
I bit my tongue not to let out my scream when I felt like my flesh was getting stretched and that the thing that was stuck to my leg deepened. It was too painful that I couldn't help but let out a groan.
I managed to keep myself from groaning in pain loudly. I was already screaming in pain inside my head. I was crying hard when I reached them.
"Morri, can you lift Clove's hand?" I asked her.
I supported her hand which was gripping tight on the broken barricade when she tried to lift Clove's hand that she was holding from the start. My heart was beating loudly it seemed like I'll end up deaf after this.
"Come on," I silently hoping that Morri can lift Clove for a bit.
"Thank God!" I exclaimed when Morri was able to lift Clove's hand.
We were all already crying heavily. I was trying not to but I was scared for us. I wished there will be someone who will help us get out of this situation.
"Morri, can you hang on?" I asked her as I looked at her puffy eyes.
She blinked her tears as she silently nodded her head. I smiled at her to assure her, we'll be safe. That we can get out of this situation.
"Just hang on, okay? We'll lift Clove and after that, I'll help you out, hmm?"
I was already trembling but I did my best not to let them see it. I needed to be strong. For them.
"Clove? Are you alright there?" I asked we held her trembling hand.
"It hurts..., I-I'm scared...," Morri and I looked at each other. Her tears freely flowed down her face while I gulped down the lump in my throat. I stopped myself from crying.
"Don't be scared. You'll be safe, okay? We'll try to lift you so, don't be. Please? Just hang on,"
I assured her. I was sure I did. But things were meant to happen just like that.
"Morri!" I shouted when the barricade finally can't handle its weight. It fell. My heart seemed to be out of my body because of panic.
I was glad I was able to grab her left hand. I winced in pain when I was forcefully pushed forward because of the impact of her fall that caused my left leg to be harshly pulled off from the bicycle but ended up on my ankle. It caused me another pain.
The situation led me to see my friends struggling to cling to my hands for their life.
I saw how Clove cried in pain because of the wound on her right arm. That was when I realized, she can just use her left hand. My upper body was already at the edge and I considered the bike helpful to our situation. It helped me not to totally be out of the land and hang in the air.
It was hard for me to carry them both considering that I was also injured. I felt like I was almost out of blood because of the wound on my leg. My vision was also starting to be blurry.
I blinked my eyes for it to be clear and couldn't help but to shed tears.
"It's okay, Aqua. Just let us go,"
I cried more when I heard what Clove just said.
"No! I can't do that! Don't do this to me, okay? We'll get out of here," I was determined to pull them both out of the cliff but the situation was already telling me that it was hopeless.
We were already hopeless.
"Look at me, Aqua..., please?" I shook my head and I couldn't stop the tears from falling from my eyes.
"No, I d-don't want t-to...,"
"Please?" Her cracked voice caused me to look at Clove.
She was smiling like she already accepted what will happen to her but I was afraid I couldn't.
"You need to save yourself. Let me go,"
"That..., I can't!" I was crying already, we were.
Morri's grip on me suddenly became loose.
"What are you doing?!" I shouted at her. I tightly grip her hand even though she was trying to get it out of her hands.
It was too painful for me. My mind was already blank. It was a total breakdown but I did my best to hang on to them.
I cried like there was no tomorrow. I cried, totally losing my sanity.
Why are they doing this to me? Don't they know that it was also hard for me? That I was also scared? Do they really think I can let them go just like that? I wasn't as heartless as I was!
"I'm s-sorry..., I'm sorry..," I looked away from Morri's crying face.
I nodded my head and looked at her.
"It's okay. Just hang on, okay?"
One last time, I tried to pull the two of them. I know they can feel my trembling hands but they said nothing. I was thankful for that.
"I'm glad you became my friends before I die...," suddenly, Clove made them stop moving for a while.
My grip on her tightened as well as on Morri.
I have a bad feeling about this. I hope it was not what I was thinking.
"What are y-you saying?" Morri asked Clove. We were both looking at Clove's crying face but her lips were widely smiling at us.
"I'll die anyway, you both know that...,"
I abruptly shook my head as tears flowed down like a river.
"Don't say that," I was just silent in my place, slowly becoming deaf.
"Don't ever say that! You understand me?!" Morri was starting to lose her sanity about what we were hearing from Clove.
"It's okay-,"
"It will not! Shut up!"
I bit my tongue to stop myself from screaming in pain from my ankle when I was pulled forward a bit when Morri tried to move. She was already getting furious as I am.
But can we really stop a person if that person was already decided not to continue? Can we?
"It's okay. It'll be okay, hmm?"
I gulped down and look away as I felt her loosening her grip on mine and Morri. She has decided. She had already done choose her way out of this situation.
"Thank you for the memories. I'll bring it with me," I was trying to listen even if it was painful.
"I'll treasure all of it. I love you two. Till we meet again,"
"Clove!" I was crying silently as I watched Morri shouting and trying to reach Clove from falling.
I did my best to hold her in my hands.
"Morri, let's go?" I asked her.
Tears flowed like falls while looking at her grieving for our friend's death.
"Where?" She asked.
I couldn't answer.
"Let's get out of here?" I softly asked her.
It was a breaking scene to watch her eyes slowly becoming dull. Slowly losing its light.
"I'll come with her, Aqua. She's alone, I want to be with her...,"
"What about me?" I asked, my heartbreaking to pieces.
How could she say that?
"I'll be alone too. I have no one with me if you go with her. What about me?" I asked her again.
We were hardly breathing because of crying. Hardly hanging to a little piece of hope from this hopeless situation.
"Aqua...," just by hearing her calling me with that tone, I knew what will happen next.
"No!"
I never knew it was hard to convince someone.
"One is enough. Don't do this t-to- me, huh?"
"Ahh!!"
I screamed when the pain in my leg, as well as my ankle, intensified. It was as if it was ripping my flesh out from my body.
That caused my grip on Morri to loosen up but I tried my best to reach her. I was already gripping her hand with only my right hand.
That was close.
"Morri, please? Listen to me, huh?"
"I'm scared... I'm scared...," It was too much for us.
The death of Clove. The hopelessness from this.
It was too much already.
"I'm here, remember?" I asked her while crying. I don't think I can stop myself from crying.
"We'll survive. We can do this...,"
One minute, my eyes lit up when I heard heavy footsteps coming near to us.
"I told you...," I swallowed my saliva and cleared my throat.
"We're safe, Morri. We did it,"
I tightened my grip on Morri's hand as I felt someone get the bike from my ankle. I felt warm hands on my shoulder, carefully getting me out from the edge.
A boy also helped to pull Morri.
I didn't let go of Morri's hands. I held it like it was my life as we were already far away from the cliff.
"Call an ambulance!" A voice made me lift my head and saw three boys our age who was unfamiliar to me.
"Rain? Can you talk?" One of them turned to Morri who has been staring at nothing particular as soon as we were saved.
I was holding her hands but she seemed to be out of here. She was in her deep thoughts. It made me cry in silence.
The other kid was calling someone, maybe his mom according to what I heard. The other one?
"You're losing a lot of blood," I weakly turned to my right.
Dark pair of blue-green eyes met my green eyes.
"Nothing compared to losing my friend," I mindlessly muttered as I stared back into his eyes.
It was when it dawned on me that I stopped thinking about what just happened. I seemed to forget everything and just look at his eyes.
How can his set of eyes make me feel like everything was going to be okay?
That was how I started looking into his eyes whenever I have the chance. To look for his presence whenever I was in the middle of trouble. To ask for his presence whenever I feel like I was lost in the process. And...
To feel like he'll be there whenever I needed him.
That's how I met Von Alastair Morozov.
