The towel tied around my head drops to the floor, I stay stunned not knowing how to react as always. I hear Dylan call out again and his voice pulled me away from my flutter. I grip right on Mr. Han's shoulders and I push him behind. He bends my feet finally reaches the ground. My nails dig into his skin as he runs his hands through my wet strands making feel summersault in my stomach and after ages he steps back, his eyes piercing into mine.
"You smell full of lavender,” he crunches up his nose and bends. "And I'm addicted to it," he whispers and walks to the kitchen while I stand there trying to bring my senses back.
That feeling he causes in me, is something and I enjoy it. Again, I know I lost, I expected him to kiss me but still, that closeness made me nuts but a part of me is a little relieved tobk ow that I attempted to break the closeness. Thanks to Dylan.
How can he dominate myself where as my body doesn't listen to me it just reacts to him.
I pick up my towel and walk out, my lower lip caught between my teeth as my minds recalls the scene happened minutes ago. The lingering scent of his cologne still fills my nostrils.
"Anna,” I stop by Mr Han's doorway ,Dylan walking out of my house as the door remained open. I walk towards him with a smile.
"Thank god, I was afraid.” his shouldershunch in relief.
"Sorry for making you worry " I say walking towards him.
"You don't have to be," he states softly. "You alright? You look red." he asks ,raising his arm he places his palm over my forehead. My hands cup my cheeks feeling the heat. It's definitely not because of flu as I've recovered but because of Mr. Han.
"I'm fine." I brush off with a wide smile.
"What's up?" I ask him, because it's time for his work.
"I called you many times, there was no answer so I came to check out."
"I'm not a kid." I cross my arms and blow my nose.
"Sure you aren't. Lets have breakfast ,I bought them." He suggests as he holds my hand, before we enter Mr. Han interrupts.
"Ms Anna," He calls out.
Dylan turned around with curled brows, and I follow suit, only to find Mr. Han leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed. His gaze travels downward, pausing midway, fixated on my hand. Intrigued, I glance down to discover that my hands are intertwined with Dylan's.
Not surprising, we do it often...
"Yes," I break the awkward silence lingering in the air.
"You are supposed to have breakfast here," he says, his brows raised and his thumb pointing backwards.
"Anna, what is Mr Han doing here?" Dylan asks taking my attention. "What were you doing there?"
Alright my bad I've never told Dylan about Mr Han being my neighbour and landlord , I thought it was nothing important to talk about.
"Ms Anna and I were—" Beforehe could completehis sentence, I pull Dylan in and shut the door in a flash.
"Okay, you gotta have something to tell me I guess." Dylan says walking towards the dining table.
"I forgot to tell you that Mr Han is my neighbour and the owner of this place."
"Oh I see. Come lets have breakfast." he nods continuously while unpacking the food.
A gentle smile forms on my lips as I walk to the table and join him to unpack the food. I'm glas he didn't question further, as what should I answer if he asked me what I was doing in Mr. Han's house. Standing close acting like we are gonna kiss!
"Won't you be late for work," I ask placing the cutlery on the table, and we took our seats opposite to each other.
"No problem, I don't mind spending time with my sweetheart." he blurts taking a bite of the sandwich.
When the word sweetheart rang in my ears I remember how Mr Han calls me and every time he does that it made my heart flutter making me fe a little uneasy.
"You got that book." He takes a quick glance at thw coffee rable in front of the couch and I follow his gaze.
"Yes," I nod as we look at each other.
"Online? You told it was expensive."
"Mr. Han gave it."
He takes a moment of silence to enjoy the food and asks, "Anna, are you and Mr. Han close?"
"What?" I exclaim. "I don't think we are close, he is annoying." I retort.
He is indeed annoying however, Dylan's question made ponder, I don't know whether we have a close relationship or not, but when we are togther I feel no distance between us.
"Is work good?"
"Yup."
"Anna, if you need anything you can let me know anytime."
"Of course," i hit the table enthusiastically. I do this always, I know Dylan is a great personand he has been helping me in many curcumstances m, deapite our friendship I really haven't and will not put him into my troubles.
Ding Dong!
"I got that," I get up and hurry to the door. My eyes widen when I push the door open wide.
"Soo sad," Mr. Han places his hand on his chest looking down at me.
"What?" I snap.
"The breakfast I made is being a waste." he pouts as his lower lips hang low. Damn, how can he act so cute. I gawk at him, trying to figure out what he means.
"Ms Anna, aren't you supposed to have breakfast with me." he says aloud on purpose.
"I'm sorry, Mr Han, I'm already having my breakfast." I reply with a fake smile.
He stared down at me for a long time, his puppy eyes and the adorable face.
"Fine, you can join us if you want to." I exhale.
"Us?" he grins sarcasmclearly visible on his face. "I'll join you!"
"My friend is here,"
"I don't like eating with others,"
"Then have breakfast on your own,"
"You are not others, Ms. Anna," he says.
He is really getting on my nerves right now.
"Fine then, do whatever you want." I growl and walk back in, leaving him at the doorway.
Okay, this was great, my mind didn't recall what happened earlier if it had I surepy wouldn't have the capacity to snap back. I take ny seat and I take a massive bite of the sandwich like easing my anger.
"Is everything fine?" Dylan asks.
"Yes, yes, continue eating," I say, my wlrds barely clear as my mouth is full. I gesture him to eat and he does chuckling.
The sound of footsteps catches my attention, causing me to turn to my left. My eyes widen to see Mr. Han walking towards us, carrying a dish. As he got closer, I choke. Reacting quickly, I reach for a glass of water and hastily gulp it down. As I do so I look at dylan taken back as I am. My gaze averts to my right when Mr. Han sets the plate on the table.
"Hello, Mr Han." Dylan greets.
"Hello," he responds dryly, taking a seat on the chair next to mine. "Ms. Anna wanted me to join for breakfast."
His statement made me choke on my drink. Hastily placing the glass on the table, I reach for the tissue that Dylan offers me. Wiping my mouth, I shoot a glare at Mr. Han, silently conveying my frustration. However, he appears unfazed by the tension in the room.
The atmosphere feels suffocating, and I can't help but feel uncomfortable in this situation. Both Mr. Han's and my plate are filled with the food he arranged, while Dylan is unpacking the food he brought. The room falls into an uneasy silence, interrupted only by the sound of foil being opened and the clinking of cutlery from the person sitting next to me. It baffles me how he can enjoy his breakfast so nonchalantly, despite having created such an awkward scene.
I decided to serve the dishes, taking their plates, I fill with everything available in equal quantity. Neither of us spoke, and the breakfast was nothing but silence. I mean painstaking silence.
"See you," Dylan says, bending down to tie his shoelace while sitting on the stool near the shelf. He glances at me as the dinning table and entrance was straight ahead. "Take care," he says aloud.
"Bye, drive safely." I offer him a smile as he waves and exits the room.
Reaching for my fork, I pierce the omelette along with some sausages stuffing it in my mouth. How can I get rid of this jerk?
"Ms Anna," Mr. Han calls out , placing the cutlery on the empty plate, he turns facing me. "I need that cat out." he orders which made me to look at him immediately with the edge of the fork still in my mouth.
"Please,” I whine moving the fork away from my lips I pout giving him my puppy face.
He raises his eyebrows amusingly his lips twitching up to a grin. "Do you think that will stop me from throwing that out." he asks as he takes a sip of water.
I stare at him pitifully and he moves his eyeballs to the left corner of his eyes peeping a glance at me. I flutter my lashes looking at him pleadingly.
"Okay, you got that.” he sighs. "But it depends on my mood." He puts the glass on the table and looks at me.
"What do you mean—–?" I ask leaning my head back with furrowed brows.
He pushes the plate and places his right elbow on the table and rests his chin over his palm looking at me, he smiles. “Depends on how you treat me." He states.
What? You gotta be kidding me!
"Are you bribing me?" I snarl as I grab my glass of milk and take a huge sip.
"Nah, giving two creatures shelter."
"So childish." I mumble taking another sip
"That's okay you are not allowed to have that cat here then, alright?" His demand is overboard and I'm sure that he is enjoying this situation right now.
"Fine," I scowl placing the glass on the table with a loud tud. I empty up my plate stuffing all the food in my mouth in rage.
"How's the breakfast Ms Anna?" after a few moments of silence he leans forward staring at me while I push the piece of sandwich in my mouth.
"Good,” I pass him fake a smile. “You are a good material for a boyfriend." I joke.
"Is it? Then is Ms Anna the lucky one?" he winks tilting his head with a smile ,his chin still rested on his palm.
"Why am I the lucky one?"
"Am I a good husband material?"
"What does that have to do with me?"
"Because I can be your husband." He shrugs giving me wide grin showing his straight white teeth in display.
Feeling a pang of nervousness, I bite my lower lip and quickly avert my gaze. His intense eyes remain fixed on me as I awkwardly finish ny milk. He rises from his seat and slips his hand into his pocket. Popping out something, he carefully sets it on the table beside my plate. My gaze shifts to the object, it's pills.
"Drink it, and have a good rest as we have to check out the hotel tomorrow." he says.
"Hotel?" I repeat questionably looking up at him.
"Yes, got some deals to be done." he answers walking away.
I grab the sheet of pills he handed me, carefully selecting one and pouring myself a glass of water. With the glass in hand, I swallow the pill, taking a large sip of water to wash away the lingering bitterness. I freeze, my actions come to a halt as I sense his presence behind me.
My heart rate quickens as he leans in close, his arm resting on either side of the top chair railings. I remain still, the glass in my hand and water in my mouth. Adereline rushes down ny spine as I feel his fingertips against my skin as he tucks my hair behind my ear. I feel him ben even lower feeling breath hitch on my earlobe.
"Don't forget to change your dress.” he whispers and my eyes fall out of its sockets. I look down at myself and the water in my mouth gets its way into my throat as I gulped in.
How can I forget it? I've been with my bathrobe all this while and I completely forgot about it. I feel my cheeks heat up in embarrassment, placing the glass on the table I close my eyes to relax as I hear his footsteps fade away. Rushing to my room I lock up the door and change into my clothes.
Gosh, how can I be soo stupid?
For almost fifteen minutes I stare at the wasged bowl which doesn't belong to me, its ny neighbour's. In haling a deep breath in I take the dish and stride to the front door. I'm going to return the dish, take my glasses and bag and come back, not going tobwaste a minjte staying inside to converse with him because everytime I do that, I fall into his trap.
"Mr Han," I call out knocking at the open door.
"Yeah," I hear his faded voice from inside.
"I cam to return your bowl and to get my things." I say aloud standing in his doorway leaning forward on my tippy toes.
"Come in and get it."
I enter the room with cautious steps, the sound of the running shower reaching my ears. A smile forms on my face as I realize he is occupied in the shower, giving me the opportunity to gather my belongings and depart without encountering him until tomorrow.
Quickly placing his bowl in the dish rack, I hasten to his room before he finishes showering. As soon as I enter, I locate my glasses on the cupboard beside the bed. I scan the room, searching for my bag, but it catch my sughy. Frustration builds within me as I squat down to check under the bed, and there it is, finally within my grasp. Letting out a sigh of relief, I rise to my feet and turn to make my exit.
In a swift momentI face the oppositesiude closing my eyes. "What the—" I bark.
Damn he's naked, his body has only a towel covering his lower area and that was short too.
"What's wrong?" he asks casually looking at the mirror, wiping his wet hair with another towel, my image behind his.
"Wear your clothes!" I screech.
"Haven't Ms Anna seen any naked men?" he chuckles “Or am I making you nervous." I'm sure he would have smirked at his reflection.
"You—" I turn around and he does it too, my eyes falls on his figure.
I understand the reason behind the firmness of his chest whenever I accidentally bump into it. I can not deny that he looks hot, causing me to stare at him unintentionally. However, his smirk snaps me out of my foolish self.
"Done looking?" he smirks walking towards me while I stare at him in horror. "Do you agree that I'm handsome?" he chuckles.
Keeping a step forward I smile looking up at him, "You are soo full of yourself." I scoff and rush out in a blink of an eye.Download Novelah App
