Episode 14.

Alpha Mula's Pack.

"I've noticed you haven't been yourself since last night. Is it because of Athena?" Elena's voice came from behind Mula, who stood by the window, admiring the lush vegetation and the birds soaring above.
Upon hearing Elena's voice, Mula turned to see her approaching. She seemed like she had just woken up, resting her head on his shoulder as they both gazed outside.
"Of course it is. Do you think it's a good idea to go to her rescue?" Mula asked. Elena raised her head, their eyes meeting.
"How can that even be a topic when I'm a dying wolf? You're not concerned about my health, the potion the physician prescribed? Why don't we act quickly before my organs suffer further damage?" Elena said, as Mula kissed her head.
"I promised you that you're safe, Elena. Just be patient; you'll have your dose soon. The physician mentioned you still have some time, so don't worry, your situation isn't a problem," Mula reassured her, kissing her forehead.
Although Elena didn't find his response entirely reassuring, she swallowed her saliva, choosing to remain silent.
"For now, we need to focus on Athena. If it weren't for her, you wouldn't be here," Mula said as he returned to the window, placing his right hand on the wall, gazing outside.
"You're right, but don't forget, she didn't do it to protect me; she did it to harm me instead," Elena said, leaving Mula looking at her in silence, trying to understand her point.
Elena took a deep breath, walked back to the bed, and sat down. Mula joined her, sitting beside her.
"What are you saying?" he asked, looking at her.
"I'm simply saying that you shouldn't go! It's not safe to try and rescue her when you know Dean is doing everything to capture you. You mentioned it's a prison break; all I can think of is a trap. Dean is trying to set a trap for you," Elena stated, and Mula nodded, looking away.
He pondered her words before turning back to her. "So you mean Athena was going to betray me?" he asked, and Elena nodded confidently.
"Think about it. If she betrayed her Alpha, whom she worked with for several years, then who are you?" Elena asked, leaving Mula speechless.
He sensed the wisdom in Elena's words, but he still wondered what would happen if Athena was indeed captured. He couldn't bear the thought of leaving one of his own to suffer, especially knowing Dean's ruthlessness.
After considering Elena's advice, he swallowed nervously and gently placed his hands on her cheeks.
"I've heard what you said, and I think I will consider your suggestion," he said, smiling briefly at her.
"Please promise me you won't go. You have a pack to protect. If anything happens to you, we are all lost in this pack," Elena pleaded. He nodded, but deep down, he knew his mind was not yet made up.
Ryan, always the wise beta, offered advice that often proved invaluable. This was one such occasion where his counsel would be crucial.
Feeling the need to seek Ryan's guidance before deciding, Mula pretended to agree with Elena, flashing her a smile.
"Thank you for your concern. I'll stay to protect you always and I won't leave," he assured her again before getting up.
"I need to speak with Ryan immediately. There's something urgent I must discuss with him," Mula informed Elena, who could sense his desire to consult Ryan again.
"Is this urgent matter not related to Athena?" Elena inquired, to which Mula nodded. She watched him leave the room, her unease growing.

Carlos Home.
Mr. Adam had spent the day at his friend's home, reminiscing about good times together.
After a night of lively conversation about their school days, he found himself standing by his car under a tree in front of the house, lost in thought.
Suddenly, his phone began to ring, interrupting his reverie. Seeing that it was Olivia calling, he quickly answered.
"Hello, Olivia?" he greeted her.
"I'm at your place now, but you're not here. Where are you?" Olivia's voice came through the phone.
"I'm sorry I didn't mention earlier that I'm out of town visiting an old friend. I'll be back either later today, tomorrow, or the day after," he explained.
"Adam, are you sure everything's okay?" Olivia inquired, concern evident in her voice.
"I'm fine, Olivia. Don't worry too much. I'm safe and will be back soon," he reassured her, knowing she tended to worry about him.
After hearing his words, Olivia felt relieved. "Alright then, take care of yourself and come back home safely, Boss," she said.
"Okay," he replied before ending the call.
As he turned around, he noticed Carlos walking towards him.
"You've been standing here for quite a while, Adam. Do the trees offer you some comfort?" Carlos inquired as he approached. Adam nodded in response.
"You might be onto something," Adam replied. They both fell into a contemplative silence, leaning against the car.
"Carlos, my friend," Adam began, and Carlos met his gaze with a hint of surprise.
"I can't help but remember our school days when you seemed to possess knowledge about supernatural beings. Your expertise has always been impressive," Adam remarked, patting Carlos on the shoulder. "I sometimes wonder if we should have pursued business together; perhaps we could have achieved great things." His attempt at humor failed to evoke a smile from Adam.
Carlos, sensing the seriousness in Adam's tone, abandoned his light-hearted demeanor. Adam, after a deep breath, fixed his gaze on Carlos. "Perhaps fate led you to study supernatural creatures for a reason. Maybe the time has come to put that knowledge to use," Adam suggested softly, leaving Carlos puzzled.
"What do you mean by that?" Carlos inquired, prompting Adam to pause before speaking.
"What do you know about werewolves? Can they be killed by ordinary humans, and if so, how? I'd like to hear more about them," Adam asked, leaving Carlos bewildered by the sudden shift in conversation.
Perplexed, Carlos responded with a bemused expression. "Why do you ask? How could this information benefit you?" He placed his hands on his hips, seeking clarification from Adam.
Sure, here is a polished version of the passage you provided:
"I will pay you millions of dollars if you can give me the right answer," Adam said. Carlos noticed the seriousness in Adam's expression, realizing that this was a significant matter involving money.
Upon hearing the mention of millions, Carlos quickly raised a finger. "I believe you should give me a minute," he whispered.

Underground.
Carlos led Adam to his underground hideout, a secret sanctuary filled with books detailing various supernatural beings. As they descended into the depths, Carlos selected a tome specifically dedicated to werewolves, placing it gently on the table before delving into its pages, enlightening Adam on the enigmatic creatures.
"Wait, so you're telling me these beings are impervious to conventional weapons?" inquired Adam, his curiosity piqued as they both absorbed the information within the book.
"Indeed. While werewolves can be wounded by silver, their remarkable regenerative abilities render them nearly invincible. Without ample silver on hand, you might find yourself on their menu," cautioned Carlos, prompting Adam to contemplate the dangers described in the book.
"Is there no alternative method to dispatching them besides silver weaponry?" probed Adam further, seeking a glimmer of hope amidst the grim revelations.
"Ah, yes, there is indeed!" exclaimed Carlos, flipping to a page adorned with a delicate illustration of a flower.
"What's that?" queried Adam, puzzled by the unfamiliar bloom depicted in the book.
"Wolfsbane. This potent flower is their bane, instilling fear in even the mightiest of werewolves," elucidated Carlos, as Adam eagerly seized the book, correcting its orientation for better viewing.
Studying it intently with a calm expression, he then turned to Carlos.
"Where can I find it?" he inquired, and Carlos shook his head.
"I'm not sure, but I've heard it's situated in the heart of the River Styx forest - a treacherous place teeming with supernatural beings, particularly those linked to the moon, like the wolves," Carlos explained.
"What would happen if a regular person attempted to venture there?" Adam queried, and Carlos shook his head once more.
"I can't say for certain, but thus far, no ordinary human has ventured there and made it back. Only the wolves can navigate it. But may I ask why all these questions?" Carlos inquired, as Adam let out a deep breath, withdrawing his hands from the table and folding them.
"The monster responsible for my daughter's demise and my subsequent sorrow is a werewolf, not just a werewolf but their alpha. I intend to seek justice and hold them and all parties involved accountable," he declared, leaving Carlos stunned, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Damn! That's a dangerous plan," Carlos muttered.
