Inside The Room. "Ah!!! Come on!!!! Ouch!!! Ugh!!!" Elena screamed loudly as the room burst open and Melissa rushed inside, only to find her lying on the bed, blood pooling around her. "Oh my gosh! What's happening?!" Melissa exclaimed, breathing heavily in shock at the sight of Elena in such a state. Her eyes fell on the scattered medicine bottles on the floor, but she didn't recognize them. "My Luna! What's wrong?" She asked as she hurried to Elena's side on the bed. "It's happening, I don't know!! I'm dying!! Call me Mula right away! If I'm going to die, let me see him!!," Elena continued to shout with tears streaming down from her face. "What's happening? What is it? The Alpha is not here, he has left the pack!" Melissa responded, moving frantically with her body trembling, unsure of what to do next. • • • Alpha Dean's Pack. Elisa and Jared found themselves outside the pack once again this night, at the Alpha's request. They weren't quite sure why, but they felt compelled to obey him and patrol the pack's territory as upcoming scouts. As they wandered around the pack, the late hour was taking its toll on them. The clock was nearing midnight, evident by the dim moonlight. "Elisa, it's getting too cold out here. It's late. We should head back and get some rest," Jared suggested to Elisa, who sat beside him on the highland, not far from the pack's location. Although it wasn't a true mountain, the elevated terrain gave them a vantage point within the pack's territory. "Hmm, early signs of you turning into a lazy scout," Elisa teased Jared, who immediately showed a hint of amusement on his face. "In that case, maybe we should camp out here for the night," Jared proposed, receiving a smile from Elisa as she leaned her head on his shoulder, intertwining their hands. "Aw, come on, I was just pulling your leg," she chuckled, noticing his quiet demeanor, suspecting he was still upset. She gently turned his gaze towards her. "Are you mad at me?" she inquired, causing Jared's eyes to widen slightly. "Perhaps, but I might forgive you if you grant me one wish," he playfully responded. "And what might that be?" Elisa asked, their eyes locked as Jared leaned in for a kiss, believing they were swept up in a moment of deep affection. His attempt at a kiss was abruptly halted by a swift slap across his face from Elisa. "What are you thinking! What do you believe you're doing?" Elisa exclaimed, the slap prompting Jared to hold his cheeks in surprise, speechless. "I suppose you're right. We're both tired of being outside. Let's head indoors and get some rest," she declared, standing up and walking away. "No, wait! I didn't mean it like that, Elisa..." He tried to call out to her, but she paid no heed. Jared felt a surge of frustration at himself, grappling with the air. He had just started to believe he was making progress. He had always sought her attention, and have always wanted a kiss from her. He struggled to articulate his emotions, yet the truth remained - he was in love with her. Left standing alone after Elisa's departure, he began scanning his surroundings, only to notice peculiar movements in the woods. It became evident to him that something lurked in the shadows, likely a member of the pack. Unfazed, he leaped down from the hill and ventured into the woods. "Hello! Who's there?" he inquired, met with silence, though the movements persisted. Slowly, he became aware that something suspicious was afoot, suspecting the presence of intruders. He scanned the area intently, attempting to detect the hidden threat. As he stood still, he sensed movement to his right. Swiftly turning in that direction, he received a fierce pounce to his head, sending him sprawling to the ground. The blow was no ordinary strike; it was an attack from Alpha Mula. "Conceal him and join me while we go inside. We may need to devise a plan to infiltrate the premises, possibly through disguise," Mula instructed Ryan, who materialized out of thin air. Rushing, Ryan dragged Jared's limp body to a secluded spot and left him there before joining Mula in surveying the house. Everyone had retreated indoors, the scene tranquil and inviting. The unlocked door, courtesy of Elisa passing through last, elicited a smirk from Ryan. "Can't you see how simple it is? Come on, let's go!" Ryan urged, eager to enter the house. However, Mula grabbed his hand and pulled him back. "Yes, I see how easy it appears, but don't you think it could be a trap? Things that seem too easy often are," Mula cautioned. Ryan shook his head in disagreement. "Even if it's a trap, how would they know we're here? Only the two of us knew about this, and we didn't even respond to Athena. So, even if it is a trap, I believe we can avoid falling into it," Ryan reassured. Mula nodded in agreement, and they hurried inside. As they stepped in, Alpha Dean, who was on the second floor of the house, smiled at Max and gave a nod of approval. Max then glanced at Athena, who also nodded, and they both left the room to finalize the plan. It was evident that everything was going according to plan, just as they had hoped. • • Mula and Ryan crept cautiously through the house, unaware that they were unknowingly engaging in a dangerous game of hide and seek with themselves, inching closer to a perilous trap. Upon reaching the house's interior, they made a beeline for the dungeon, guided by their familiarity with the layout from their past interactions with Dean. Their shared experiences had etched the pathways into their memories. Upon reaching the dungeon, they encountered a padlocked door. Without hesitation, Mula shifted his hand into its wolf form, effortlessly breaking the padlock and swinging the door open. "Here we are, let's find her!" Mula whispered urgently as they hurried inside, Then Dean emerged from a concealed corner, flanked by Max and Athena. "I warned him about toying with danger, yet here he is. Once I'm through with him, he'll rue the day he crossed paths with me. Follow my lead," Dean declared, leading the way as the others followed suit into the dungeon. • • Inside The Dungeon. Mula and Ryan had thoroughly searched all the cells in the dungeon, but to their dismay, they found no prisoner resembling Athena. "She's not here," Ryan muttered, sensing that something was amiss, while Mula stood frozen in shock. "Where could she be? She claimed Dean had imprisoned her and she was to face death tomorrow. Why isn't she here?" Mula asked, perplexed, gesturing widely. Ryan shook his head in confusion. "I'm just as baffled. This doesn't make sense," Ryan replied, as Mula, with a hint of anger, stepped closer, locking eyes with him. "No! Don't pretend to be clueless. You're always the wise one. There's only one explanation for this!" Mula exclaimed, leaving Ryan to ponder over Mula's suspicions. A wave of panic swept over them as they exchanged silent glances, realizing the gravity of the situation. "We've been deceived. This was a trap all along, and we fell right into it!" Mula declared, visibly distressed, his breaths labored. "Do you really think so?" Ryan inquired, eliciting a sharp reaction from Mula, who urged him to take the situation seriously. "Of course! Can't you see it? We're trapped. We need to escape immediately!" Mula shouted, making a sudden move to flee, only to find Dean, Max, and Athena blocking their path. They both jumped back in panic, startled by Dean's smile, their breaths becoming heavy as they realized their lives were in grave danger. Despite this, Mula still had faith in himself, believing Dean wouldn't harm him if they were to confront each other directly, but he knew Dean wasn't that foolish. "Hello, Mula," Athena greeted as Mula glared at her with anger. "You're a snake!" Mula exclaimed, while Athena simply maintained a smile. "I thought you knew me better. I warned you to give me my Luna, but now you'll lose everything," Dean said, smiling as he shifted his gaze to Ryan. "Dear humble, Ryan," he called, and Ryan bowed his head slightly. "Alpha," Ryan responded, causing Mula to look at them in shock. "You have done well. I will ensure you are greatly rewarded," Dean declared, and Ryan nodded in acknowledgment. "Thank you, Alpha," Ryan said before leaving Mula's side to stand with him, leaving Mula in disbelief. He couldn't believe that his most trusted wolf, beta, friend and family had betrayed him, he couldn't believe his eyes, it was like a dream.
