"Mistaken? Ah, what kind of special relationship do you two have!? Speak!" I fell asleep while I was trying to move Kalester from my lap, but then I saw him having a nightmare. I decided to stay with him till he no longer screams. Then I fell asleep. When I woke up, the first thing that greeted me was Eris, and his furious gaze that was directly from the person on top of my lap. That's right, it's Kalester. Brother was about to punch Kalester so I had to step in and stop him. He must have seen the mark Kalester put on my shoulder. I didn't realize that it was visible. "It's still morning, why are you so angry?" Then here comes the man who does not even realize our situation right now. Dammit, Kalester is still half asleep. "Shut—" "Let me explain, okay!" I said as I carefully moved away from Kalester and I seated properly. How am I supposed to explain this? I mean, we look like young childrens who were exposed to something. I can't even tell him that our relationship is quite complicated, no one will believe us if I say we came from the future! "Ahem!" I looked away as I was figuring out how to explain this situation, but I ended up gulping it. There's no other choice, I'd rather have a brother as a witness than father. "I..." before I could even utter a word, I ended up breathing in and out. "I asked him to meet me in my room yesterday because I want to discuss something—" "You won't fool me by that, I was not born dumb, little sister," the way he had said those words had shaken me off. What am I supposed to say then!? That Kalester came uninvited in a ladies room, kissed her shoulders, biting her like a venomous snake? Or how he fell on her lap and slept? I'd rather not tell him about the things Kalester did to me that night. But he already saw the mark! "Fine, I was cheating okay!" I covered my lips and looked down. Dammit, why did I have to say it that way! I look like a cheater who's having an affair behind her lover—no, perhaps I should have let it become like this. My fiance was the first one who cheated on me, even publicly. My actions are not at par to cheating when we are not lovers. Yet, I cannot justify that I cheated on my fiance amid our engagement. We are both wrong but he is a prince, all blames will be put only unto me as his fiance. "With this guy?" I tilted as I looked at my brother pointing his finger on Kalester. He seemed—not bothered but the fact that I did it with Kalester? I just nodded, and he annoyingly looked at Kalester who was not even listening since earlier. "Of all men in the empire, Holy! You have picked this dude, I'd rather accept Count Elmer son than him as your husband!" Count Elmer Son? I looked at him. He's kidding right? "That man is a child, brother, don't fix me with a child who's age is 5 years old!" Seriously, what does he think of me? A pedophile? That kid is barely a teen, besides what is his problem with Kalester anyways? Then I heard a long chuckle that made me look. Kalester was laughing, so we both looked at each other confused. "What's so funny?" I asked. Kalester tilted and he pointed at my brother. "Why does your brother think you're a pedophile?" he asked as he kept on laughing. What the? I coldly glare at him. "Shut up," I said and looked away. "So, why did it have to be him?" "Brother, why are you so angry with Kalester, anyways?" He looked at me before he put his guard down. "He was my rival, and a monster," he said. What the hell? "Brother, Kalester is not a monster," I mumbled and he looked away. I have long known about the nicknames and titles that High Society had branded Kalester. If not tyrant, beast nor barbarians, he was even called a maniac. Yet there is one name that exists, a name I never thought would still remain. Yeah, that nickname is a monster. Whenever a party is hosted in the palace, and I attend it—I hear these rumors and gossips that all point towards Valentine. I never interfered before because it was not my problem. Now, my current situation is different. That man everyone calls a monster is none other than the man I cherish. "Listen, Catholy—he was named that way not just because it's not true, in fact, he is really—" I shut him up with my hand. "Enough, I don't want to hear it." Eris carefully shook his head and he nodded. "Fine, but I'll set rules while he is staying here—he can see you, but beyond my permission is my condition, Kalester must not touch you." That's it? I carefully looked down and then I looked at Kalester who's finally awakened. He then stood up, as he matched with my brother. "I can do that, so long as you let me marry your sister once she terminates her engagement," I was not expecting that but I actually had promised to stay with him, but marriage after break up? "You think, I'll let you do that?" Eris coldly pointed at him by his chest. "Even if she wants to marry you, unless you abide by our rules, you will never marry her." "Brother!" He then looked at me and I went silent as I watched them. "It's not your choice, either way if you get in my way, I'll show bloodshed," then suddenly Kalester's voice went cold. "Your arrogance knows no bounds," my brother breathed in and he laughed. "But you cannot threaten me, because I never went serious with you." Should I stop them? I don't know. I give a long breath and shake my head. I'll talk to my father about what happened here, but not now. I still need to prepare my plan. The only problem is them. They are fighting each other. "How long can you last then? Brother—in—law?" "I'll rip you apart," that must have triggered brother, seems like he fell into his trap as well. I shook my head and gazed at them. "Stop it!" I annoyingly yell at them both. "What are you doing here, brother?" Eris looked at me and he suddenly remembered something. "I was going to check on you," then he tilted as he looked at Kalester. "But it seems a wild rat has trespassed inside." "Don't fight," I demanded and looked away. "About this, please refrain from telling anything to my father, I still have a lot of problems to deal with." He quietly nodded. "Sure, and I'll keep an eye on him," he pointed at Kalester before he pulled him towards the door. "We'll be out now, take some rest since you haven't slept well, I'll ask your breakfast to be served in your bed—ah, and don't let any wild rats get inside again." Before I could say something about how he treated Kalester, he opened the door and left. I breathed in and out before I looked down. "That was a messy situation," I mumbled. Well, I'll rest for now. 『━━✣━━』 What has happened to the future? Who brought them back to the past? Who has the ability? The power to do it? God? Human? Seems impossible, but if it is God, then that means they have a reason to be back. There must be a reason, right? He looks at the high end ceiling of the mansion while his coat is being pulled by someone, or perhaps by Eris who angrily calms himself amid his frustration. "You know," he mumbled at Eris. "Why have you not stopped her from getting entangled with the Second Prince when you hate the idea of her being taken away by someone?" He was confused, like Catholy, this is probably his second lifetime, and he have seen things from his first life that confuses him, now and then. Eris is a protective brother, who always complain about his sister's fiance. Even if Kalester was locked up in the Grand Duchy, the everyday news in the capital reached him like everyone. He knows what is happening, and problems that come after. Even the news regardless of Eris, and his sister. "I could, but she was—Holy has been blinded by that coward prince, and everytime I brought it up, she thinks I was judging her fiance and she would come to hate me more," said Eris and he let go of Kalester. "I have seen that man manipulates her, with sweet and taunting voice. Before I could even punch that guy, she went with him and declared their engagement." In other words, he had no choice. He can punch the prince, but it was her decision to go with him. "You let him?" he asked and looked down. "It really is unfortunate." Kalester stood up as he carefully wiped the dirt on his clothes. "It's not what you think," he chuckled. "I didn't let him go, I was refused so harshly by my own sister. She didn't even believe me, but she seemed different from before." Different? He looked at Eris before he shook his head. It seems that he is very sharp with details. Nonetheless, he won't believe their story even if Kalester will tell him. Going back to time from the future was—crazy, humans are not supernatural beings but the existence of the Esper users are considered not normal. It is best to keep their regression to themselves. The less people who knew, the better to consider. Even for the church, as it may go against their belief in Theology. "The palace is a harsh place to live in—not to mention having a cheating bastard by her side, had strain her and she was able to sever her fiance's control over her, this time take this chance and cherish her," he mumbled, looking at him straight in the eye before he walked away, leaving Eris in confusion. The Kalester he knew was cold, and indifferent. Yet for some oddly reason stuck inside of him, he can feel his compassion and affection he never show towards anyone but for Catholy. He had seen him, whenever ladies tried to talk to him. He either bitterly smiles, or coldly glares at them with a silent yet tempting word of rude response. He never wanted to talk to any ladies, he did not like it—that's why, he rather kindly rejected them. The only problem is his charm, ladies getting rejected, instead of showing tantrum, would come chasing after him with a delightful taste. They like how Kalester talked to them, and it became so much as to make a club related to him. His average beauty is quite amazing, like he has never seen before. It was a dangerous beauty, despite showing a sweet voice, he hides a fang of gleaming darkness behind such a smile. Not only that. The mark on Catholy's neck, if a woman sees this as a marking or bite from a passion. Men recognize these marks in a different, and more advanced understanding. A mark of ownership—is not just a concept. It is a sign of possessiveness, and so is obsession. Those who share such marking, men who can't restrain themselves, devour those they are forced to own. A psychopathic snake, wrapping them around their palm. From head to toe, from body to soul, he owned everything. A toxic concept for a man with a possessive attitude. The marking does have a lot of meanings, but it’s not something he needed to worry about. Right, that can't be possible. He was not even interested in other women. Eris shook his head, and he walked away, pacing through the hallway. "Yes, it's not possible.”
