Third Person P.O.V
Aiden passes the main road and walks to the store a few meter away from Mintz’s residence. . She stops in her tracks when she notices Riley seated outside the convenient store by the balcony where the chairs and tables are arranged. She walks to the balcony and stands next to his chair. She looks around the lonely dark road and down at him. Riley stares down at her shoes and looks up. A smile makes its way on his lips when she sits.
A loud sigh leaves her lips as she counts the empty cans “Stop drinking,” she orders dryly and throws the empty cans in the bin by their table.
“I did not have enough,” he pouts staring at the two cans present on the table. He moves his gaze to Aiden “I don’t get drunk,” he smiles. He takes the open can and gulps down the remaining. His lips curl in “You can leave,” he states as he opens another can. His tone enough to prove he is not drunk.
She lets out a breath and puts her hands in her jacket pockets. She shrugs her shoulders and leans back “What if someone find you?” she asks looking around the dark road. A dim street light makes the road seem smaller where only one or two stray cats are roaming around.
“No one will be around here at this hour. Unless few,” he looks around “But it's only ten at night,” he sniffs.
He turns to his left and freezes. He stares at her observing her features, his skin heats up when the scene in the afternoon flashes in his mind. His heart skips a beat, his body feels the same intensity when she kissed him. He never utters a word. Aiden frowns and moves her head backwards with puckered brows, her lips form to an uneven smile.
“Am I drunk,” he asks. He moves a little forward and sits back the very next second. His eyes close as he takes a deep breath in and lets it out. He shakes his head to drop the thoughts building in and steals a glance at her. He drinks again.
They stay silent for few minutes while he continues to drink and she stares at her fingers “Riley,” she calls out “You know, regret is painful than separation,”
His actions stop, he stares at the can in his hand. His ears pay attention to her.
She continues “I don’t know what had happened in your family and I have no right to interfere. But I'm saying this behalf of your dad,” she remains silent for a minute, her eyes fixed at his side features. “What you mentioned back there about your mother is right in your point of view but not in his,” she moves forward “It was not that the case was important it's just he couldn’t walk out. His client believed him and you know how much hard work was put into it. Do you think he doesn’t regret his action? And about the tickets. He informed me last night. He just worried that you will be in trouble. As a parent he is doing his job. I'm sure you will regret what you did” she moves back and watches him in silence. He drinks and drinks p, emptying the cans.
“You said you wouldn’t get drunk,” she sneers as she stands. She throws the empty cans in the bin and breaks her knuckles looking at Riley whose head is on the table. She pulls him by his shoulders and bends, his hands wrap around her neck from behind.
“What will you do if I'm not here?” She drags him with her.
“My god! You are heavy,” she grunts under her breath. Her pants get louder by the time she reaches his car. She places him on the road, his shoulders rested on the car door. “On diet?” she scoffs staring down at him “Seems like you eat as pig,” she grumbles as she squats searches for the car keys in his pockets.
She throws him in on the back seat and gets in the driver's seat, her hand runs through her hair as she lets out a weary sigh “I shouldn’t have helped you,” she grumbles and she starts the engine.
The car comes to a halt at the parking lot of the apartment, Aiden sniffles and turns around to Riley. He lays on the seat, his one leg the other hanging down, his lips move in a way of whisper. She gets out of the car and yanks the back door open he. She grips the seat and moves her upper body inside.
“Wake up,” she pulls him by his sweater's collar.
“Don't ever think I will carry you upstairs. Get up," she growls but he never moves an inch. She chews onto her inner cheeks and slaps him across his cheek.
His eyelids lift slightly, his lips part while he stares at her. His vision blurry. The corners of his lips twitch upwards, his brain recalls the disturbing incident of noon.
"Wake..." she slaps him again, harder.
She quickly steps put when his eyes shoot open.
His long legs hang out, he rubs his face, stretches his arms and looks around his surrounding with furrowed brows. He sits at the edge of the seat.
“Home?” he looks up at Aiden who is standing in front her hands crossed over her chest.
She rolls her eyes and passes him a glance “Yes,” she replies dryly.
Riley stands and pushes the door shut. She steps back and runs her hand through her hair, irritated. He stands by the car and leans on it to support himself to stand. She stomps to him and puts his arm over her broad shoulders and slips her arm around his waist.
“Next time tell me that you are not drunk,” she grunts as she waits for the elevator “I’ll kick out of this world.”
A sigh of relief leaves her lips when they finally reach the destination, she puts him on the entrance floor and types the password. She pushes the door open, squats and grips his under arms. She drags him inside.
“Thank goodness you are back,” Evan exclaims. He hops forward “Riley.....,” he stops when he notices Riley.
“He is drunk,” she informs and steps aside “I got to go,”
“Hey,” Evan calls .
“Yeah?”
“I just want to tell you ,” he hesitates. After seconds of silence he continues “Can you move in?”
“What?” she asks aloud.
“No, I mean,” he smiles nervously “The media will pay attention so they might be outside. If they see you both together often, they won't suspect,” He explains.
“This is insane,” she leaves.
###
Sun rays pass through the slightly open curtains. The sound of bell, the knock at the door and the ringtone of her phone plays a musical show in the house. Lisa crouches her lazy body and sits. She stares at the clock and lets out a loud sigh. It’s seven in the morning. She squeezes her eyes shut and relaxes her heavy eyelids ignoring the noisy environment. She takes her own time and hangs out her legs. She picks her phone.
"Aiden?" she tosses the phone on the bed and runs to the door. A wide smile plays on her lips when Aiden comes to her view.
She cups her face below her chin and flutters her eyelashes "Sorry for the delay my sweetheart” she whines and jumps forward. She takes Aiden's hands and pulls her in, excited.
"Why are you on cloud nine?" Aiden asks. She stands still as she watches Lisa swing her arm.
"You," she giggles.
"Me?"
"That was awesome, I couldn't stop watching it," Lisa releases her hand and moves closer.
"What are you talking about?" Aiden questions, confused. She steps aside and leans over the wall to untie her shoe .
"The kiss," Aiden stops her action and stares down at the carpet "You were so cool. It was so passionate,"
“Was it?,” she chuckles. "I just did to save his face,” she rolls her eyes. "He is so much concerned of how people think of him,," she explains "It just looked passionate but it wasn’t passionate. Just a display.”
Lisa pouts “Even though I don’t like to share you with anyone but for Riley. I’ll let you go.”
“'m only yours," Aiden passes her a wink and walks in, she strolls to the kitchen, grabs a can of cola from the refrigerator and sits on the chair. Lisa takes one and sits opposite to her.
"Don't drink with an empty stomach," Aiden says,. She snatches the can from Lisa's grip “Have breakfast first, I bought your favourite pastries.’
Lisa opens the brown paper bag on the dining table, a wide smile makes its way on her lips when the hot smell hits her nostrils.
"Where were you all these days?" Lisa questions as she sits back straight "You never came back home."
"I stayed in the hospital,"
"With mom?"
Aiden nods in reply and leans forward "What happened to your audition? You are still asleep,"
"I was not selected.”
"Oh," they remain silent for a while "They will deplore..."
"Their choice," Lisa completes her sentence "Please don't console me. You just make it feel worse," she laughs.
Aiden packs her bag with a few clothing and leaves.

Aiden exhales as she pushes the door open, her feet wobble backwards as soon as she steps in when Evan jumps forward.
“I was waiting for you,” he claps, relieved at her arrival.
From Evan she averts her gaze over his shoulder to Riley.
“Only a backpack,” Evan questions.
“It's not that I'm going to settle to bring a luggage,” she removes her bag.
“Riley come here,” he turns around and gestures him to hurry.
“Alright, both of you go out for brunch,” he informs. He takes the bag from her grip “And remember to be sweet and natural. Don’t make things obvious”
“What's all this?” Aiden raises a brow questionably.
“A date,”
“A date?” she repeats aloud.
“Yeah, because there are reporters out there waiting to watch him. It will be only for a few days and then it will soon be out of hot topic. I swear,” he explains “And then this will be over.”Download Novelah App
