Maxwell Thornton smiled, not expecting having a urology doctor as a girlfriend could be so entertaining, as even a playful tease made her flustered. Lily Bennett, in an instant, became gentle. She looked at Maxwell with soft eyes, gently picking up the nightgown beside her and slipping it on. Then, she smiled at him, "Wait for me~." With that, she shyly walked into the bathroom. One had to admit that the seductive appearance of this woman truly made Thornton Chairman’s skin tingle, let alone the heated place on his body that was already burning with desire. He lay back on the bed, waiting for Lily to come out. But when she did, she was calm and carrying a basin of cold water. Before Maxwell could react, she quickly threw the water on him, not caring whether her actions would anger him or not. Instead, she confidently looked at the drenched man on the bed. "Is the fire inside you extinguished now?" Maxwell’s usually meticulously styled hair was wet and plastered to his handsome face, making him look even more ruggedly attractive. But his gaze was icy cold, and Lily felt that if she stayed a moment longer, he’d probably make her head spin. So, after achieving her goal, she fled without hesitation, running straight into the bedroom—only to realize too late that it was Maxwell’s room. Maxwell sighed, watching as water dripped from his hair and soaked his clothes. Instead of getting angry, he chuckled. This woman was truly fascinating—she could surprise him at any moment! Did she really think dousing him with cold water was the best way to put out his fire? Maxwell stood up and walked toward his bedroom. Just as he expected, Lily was hiding in the bathroom. Maxwell knocked rhythmically twice on the door, "Open up." Lily clutched the door handle tightly, pouting as she raised her voice, making sure he heard her. "I'm not opening it! We need to make things clear first." Maxwell pressed a hand against the door and spoke in a deep, magnetic voice that seeped through the crack, reaching her ears, "What do you want to make clear? But before we clarify anything, you need to explain what you just did!" “There’s nothing to explain. Didn’t your fire already get put out?” Lily knew her actions were over the top, but she didn’t want to get entangled with Maxwell. She wasn’t someone to get involved in a vague relationship, especially not with him. That’s why she acted without hesitation. From inside the bathroom, Lily's voice came through, “The contract clearly states that both parties must respect each other's personal space. But you constantly barging into my room without knocking and pulling stunts like this—how can we live peacefully together? You always make unreasonable demands regarding...intimacy as if it’s natural! I’m not an easy woman, and so what if I’m a single mother? Just because I’m a single mom doesn’t mean my worth is diminished, or that I can be taken advantage of so easily." Seeing a vase placed on the table by the door, Lily angrily smashed it, raising her voice, "If you dare to come in, I won't stand by and let you do as you please." She glanced at the broken vase in her hand. "If I damage anything, feel free to add it to the contract for compensation. I also have two amendments of my own. If you don’t agree, I’m not coming out." "No amendments," Maxwell replied lazily from outside the door. Inside the bathroom, Lily fell silent as Maxwell continued, "I’ll give you thirty seconds to reconsider and come out." Before the thirty seconds had even passed, Dr. Bennett raised a white flag and pushed open the door. Maxwell looked at the shattered vase in her hand and sighed, raising an eyebrow, "Tell me, what do you want to add to the contract?" "From now on, you're not allowed to use your key to unlock my room at will, and you can't treat me like I owe you something when it comes to...physical intimacy. Also, you’re not allowed to walk around without clothes in my room, and no unreasonable requests—especially regarding... bedroom activities." Lily, still holding the sharp, broken vase, waved it threateningly in front of Maxwell as she spoke. "You're adding too many clauses, Dr. Bennett. Is this my house or yours? Now I can't even walk around without clothes!" Maxwell leaned against the bed, his eyes focused on the strong-willed woman in front of him. He patted the bed and said, "The bed in your room is wet now, and if this bed gets soaked too, we’ll have nowhere to sleep tonight. We might end up squeezing together on the sofa." Lily certainly didn’t want Maxwell anywhere near her, let alone sharing a couch. Realizing the broken vase in her hand was too dangerous, she tried to set it down but slipped on the slick floor. Maxwell quickly caught her, and they both tumbled to the ground. Lily looked up at him, and the room fell into an oddly silent tension. Finally, Maxwell had enough. He grabbed her by the collar and hoisted her up, throwing her over his shoulder before marching straight into the bathroom. Lily quickly realized her mistake. Maxwell tossed her into the tub, and Dr. Bennett had no choice but to give him her best pitiful look, "You can sleep in the bedroom tonight. I’ll take the sofa, okay?" Maxwell didn’t respond, narrowing his eyes at Lily. Feeling the tension, she smiled nervously and added, "I was wrong, okay? We don’t have to amend the contract... What are you going to do?"
