Chapter 17: Foe's Attack.

As I walked out of Liam's office, I was greeted by the sound of painful screaming. My heart skipped a beat as I wondered who could be making such a terrible noise. I quickly made my way towards the source of the sound, my mind racing with worst-case scenarios. The screaming grew louder and more intense, and I could feel my anxiety spiking with every step.
When I arrived at the scene, I saw one of Liam's men holding down a struggling figure, while another was inflicting blows on him. I recognized the figure as one of Victor's men, and my heart sank. I felt a wave of dread wash over me as I realized the implications of this discovery.
"What's going on here?" I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady.
Liam's man turned to me, a mixture of excitement and cruelty in his eyes. "This guy was caught spying on you when you came in," he said, gesturing to the figure on the ground. "He's one of Victor's men."
My mind reeled as I processed the information. Victor was watching me, he knew I was here. Oh God, I've got to go check on Mike. My son was in college, and I had to make sure he was safe.
I rushed out of the building, my heart pounding in my chest. I had to get to Mike's college, I had to make sure he was okay. Victor was watching me, he knew I was with Liam. Oh God, what if he hurts Mike?
I arrived at the college, my mind racing with worst-case scenarios. I rushed to Mike's dorm, my heart sinking with every passing moment.
When I arrived at his room, I knocked on the door, my heart racing with anxiety.
"Mike! Mike, are you here?"
The door opened, and Mike stood before me, a look of confusion on his face.
"Hey, Dad. What's up?"
I hugged him tightly, relief washing over me. "I was just worried about you, son. I had a scare."
Mike looked at me, concern in his eyes. "What happened?"
I took a deep breath, trying to calm down. "Nothing, Mike. I just had a scare, that's all."
Mike nodded, but I could tell he was worried. I knew I had to protect him, I had to keep him safe. Victor was watching me, he knew I was with Liam. Oh God, what if he hurts Mike? I couldn't shake the feeling of danger lurking around every corner.
As we stood there, embracing each other in relief, I suddenly heard the unmistakable sound of gunshots coming from downstairs. My heart skipped a beat as I felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through my veins. Oh God, we've got to run, got to escape from here, I thought to myself. The sound of the gunshots was getting louder and closer, and I knew we had to act fast.
"Mike, we have to go, now!" I exclaimed, grabbing his arm and pulling him towards the door. My voice was firm and urgent, and I could feel the panic rising up inside me.
"What's happening, Dad?" Mike asked, his voice laced with fear and confusion. He looked up at me with wide eyes, and I could see the fear and uncertainty written all over his face.
"Gunshots, Mike! We have to get out of here, fast!" I replied, my voice hoarse from shouting. I didn't have time to explain, I just knew we had to get out of there as quickly as possible.
We rushed out of the room, slamming the door shut behind us. I could hear the sound of footsteps and shouting coming from downstairs, getting closer and closer. My heart was racing with fear, and I knew we had to move fast if we wanted to get out of there alive.
"Where are we going?" Mike asked, his eyes wide with fear. He was looking up at me for answers, and I knew I had to stay calm and focused if I wanted to keep him safe.
"We have to get out of the building, find a safe place," I replied, my mind racing with thoughts of escape routes and hiding spots. I knew the campus like the back of my hand, and I knew there had to be somewhere we could hide.
We ran down the hallway, our footsteps echoing off the walls. I could hear the gunshots getting closer and closer, and I knew we were running out of time. My heart was pounding in my chest, and I could feel the fear rising up inside me.
"Come on, Mike, faster!" I urged, pulling him along. I knew we had to move faster if we wanted to get out of there alive.
We reached the stairwell and began to make our way down, our hearts pounding in our chests. The gunshots were getting louder and closer, and I knew we were running out of time. I could hear the sound of footsteps behind us, and I knew we had to keep moving.
"Almost there, Mike, keep going!" I exclaimed, my voice hoarse from shouting. I could see the exit sign at the bottom of the stairs, and I knew we were almost safe.
We reached the bottom of the stairs and saw a group of students cowering in the corner, their eyes wide with fear. I knew we had to keep moving, we couldn't stop now.
"Get down, get down!" I shouted, pulling Mike to the ground. I knew we had to get out of the line of fire, and fast.
We huddled together, our hearts pounding in our chests, as the gunshots continued to ring out. I knew we had to get out of there, find a safe place to hide.
"Come on, Mike, let's go!" I whispered, pulling him to his feet. I knew we had to keep moving, we couldn't stay there any longer.
We made a run for the door, our hearts pounding in our chests. We burst through the door and out into the night, gasping for air. I could hear the gunshots fading into the distance, and I knew we were safe.
But I knew it wasn't over yet. Victor was still out there, and he would stop at nothing to get what he wanted. We had to keep running, keep hiding. Our lives depended on it.
