“Felis…”
“Felis,” a man's voice filled Felis' ears.
The girl's eyes opened. Slow. She complained in her heart. She wasn't prepared for any kind of surprise. Especially about Garg. The man died ten years ago. But still, Felis looked towards the sound. One thing that is very clear from Lumons is that her concentration is easily distracted. Felis is included in it.
Garg still looked the same as the last time Felis met him. Like when the girl was little. Still strong in Felis' memory, Garg's body was tall and straight, his broad shoulders, his eyes were soft and radiated compassion. His lips were fresh, clamping the licorice stalk at the end.
This sight made Felis want to get closer. She had to confirm the scent of her father—who was not her father. She wanted to hug the man.
“Sweet child,” said Garg, he stretched out his hand for Felis.
Felis hesitantly caught the man's palm. Felis stood up, patted her clothes which were dirty with dust. A desire arose to ask Garg, is it true that Felis is Laureen's child? However, Felis didn't want to waste this impossible opportunity for a question that might hurt Garg's feelings. As well as hurting her own feelings. For a while, Felis prefers to live with lies than the truth.
The father and son walked hand in hand in the pine forest. The place where they last met—or parted without saying goodbye.
“I've been waiting for you to come for a long time, Felis,” Garg said finally.
Felis sighed. "You are dead, father. Ten years ago. What brought you back?"
Garg smiled. “What can the Quartz Bell not do? You forgot? You found the Bell, dear. You brought everyone back."
Is it true? Felis was confused. "This is not a dream?" There is fog in the old hut. It's just imagination.
Garg laughed. "Of course not, Felis. You're the one who brought us back." Garg is so excited.
"We?" Felis was getting more and more doubtful.
"Me, your mother, Marlon, Candramawa's mother, Jesse, Gregora, Aldora, all of us, Felis," Garg said the names one by one. “Genta!” The last name he said in an overly excited tone.
Felis nodded. Even though she didn't understand what Garg had said just now.
"Yes." Felis could only respond with a 'yes'. She couldn't even pretend to understand.
"Yes, how about Felis? I'm very proud of you." Garg ran towards the deeper forest. Felis chased. Pine trees lined up, hiding Garg's fading figure. Felis panted heavily.
"Father!" Felis called. She lost track. She kept running and looking.
"Father!" No answer. Only the echo of her own voice.
"Felis."
Felis turned around. The female voice belonged to Mrs. Furla. "Mother?" Felis was starting to get scared. How can Mrs. Furla come back to life? Felis saw her die that night. How could her mother not be afraid of Felis? Last time, Mrs. Furla called Felis a stealth.
"Felis."
"Felis."
"Felis."
Voices she didn't recognize were calling her name. Then the figures lined up around her. It just magically appeared. This is not reality! Felis did not find the Quartz Bell. This is just a bad dream. Felis covered her mouth. She wanted to vomit.
Garg stood in front of her. Her stomach was open and gaping. Then Jesse dragged her messy body—writhing like the bits of an earthworm.
Mrs. Furla approached her. The walk is unsteady. Her mouth was full of blood, her body full of blood. Genta held her stomach. Marlon, he's got a hole in his neck!
“Oh, god. What's this?" Felis shouted when a woman who had no eyes ran towards her. Her body was cut into five. Scattered, then merged again, then scattered again. Felis screamed in horror.
"My daughter," Garg appeared from behind. Felis jumped in surprise.
The man's hand was full of blood, a lump of flesh bloated in the palm of his other hand, thumping.
"Why did you revive us?" Garg accused.
"I don't... I don't know anything, Daddy." Felis did not have time to answer. This situation was too real to be called a nightmare.
The living corpses surrounded her. Everyone is talking, everyone is pressing. Everyone accuses Felis. Even though she didn't want to, Felis was forced to release her aisikla. She threatened to kill these people one more time. Thus she wished them to stay away. Unfortunately, it's not that easy. They came, demanding that Felis end their suffering.
Then Felis remembered the song Deluna hummed when they were on the boat on their way to the city of Este.
Lumons are not a gift from the God of Hell.
Lumons are the fate of the Sky Gods.
Like the stars separated from the earth,
the earth is separated from hell.
With a reason.
Quartz bells are made for a reason.
Found to fulfill a reason.
Weesa, Seeka or Reeda.
Longevity, magic and survivability.
Is punishment.
It had been five times since Felis had tried to re-kill these people. But they bounced back.
The girl is cornered in a circle that never ends. The power is running out. There is only one way left. Felis decided to draw aisikla to her own heart.
***
With that Felis thought she could end the green mist torture.
Unfortunately, this isn't over yet. The undead had disappeared—indeed. But Felis got lost in the dark.
"What are you doing here Candramawa?"
Slowly Laureen's shadow appeared in front of Felis.
“Laureen.” Felis called, "Mother..." Felis touched Laureen.
Can't. The shadow is gone. Felis ran again, looking for another piece of the scene. Now the pictures appeared haphazardly in front of her. All about Lauren.
Laureen hid in the bushes, Laureen hid in the tree branches. Laureen is in a hut in the middle of a pine forest. Laureen removed a light blue aisikla.
Alone. Many times. With five other people. And the memory of her father's death was forced to the surface. Now Felis remembers all the faces that killed Garg. Lauren is there.
"Fuck!" Felis's insults carried over to her consciousness.
The girl quickly stood up. Keep an eye on the wound on her chest, as well as the circumstances around her.
“Damn fog.” Felis realized that she had been toyed with by the green mist. Again. But at least, the fog gave her a new truth. That Laureen was there too. At the time Garg was killed. She was one of Garg's assassins. And all this time Candramawa has been protecting her. Like Marlon hiding as his mother's future husband.
“Felis,” another voice called from outside the hut.
Felis turned around. The shoots are loved, and the side dishes have arrived. What a happy coincidence.
"Yes, Mom." Felis bent down to pick up the green smoke residue that had trapped her just now. Then walked out of the hut.
"I've been looking for you ever since." Laureen was already standing at the door.
Felis nodded. "I know you won't let me go again." She smiled. "Right, Mom?"
Lauren breathed a sigh of relief. “Of course, I won't let you go alone. We have to look for Candramawa, she is in danger."
Felis rolled her eyes. Candramawa again. Then Felis blew the remaining green mist in front of Laureen.
Laureen panicked, she had taken a few steps back. But it was too late if the woman thought about dodging the green mist magic. Before two seconds Laureen was sprawled on the ground.
Felis crouched near her biological mother. Her face was expressionless as she dragged Laureen's body up the hill to meet her best friend. Alfredo.
