Chapter 46: Strange Land
The plane carrying Erina to country B landed in the late afternoon. After completing the immigration procedures, she quickly dragged her luggage out.
During the peak season, the number of passengers flocking to the airport increased dramatically. Sitting on the plane for half a day made Erina tired, and now she was completely exhausted from jostling in the crowded crowd.
This was her first time going abroad and also her first time going so far and for so long.
Looking around, she saw the sign with her name on it, so she quickly squeezed through the bustling passengers and walked forward.
The man with glasses, about forty years old, dressed in a very elegant suit, bowed as soon as he met her.
“Hello Mistress, are you tired?”
“Just a bit. Thank you for coming to pick me up.” She bowed politely.
Erina's actions made Louis confused, and he quickly bowed. Although he was almost twice her age, he was still of low status, and she was the future wife of the heir to the Young Market company.
“Mistress, don't say that. The Chairman has assigned this to me in advance.”
Seeing that he liked to bow his head to her, she could only nod in agreement. This is the privilege and benefit of the girl who has the title of Henry's fiancée, Hubert's daughter-in-law.
Erina gave Louis her luggage to carry and followed him to the car park. At this moment, she just wanted to go home, roll into bed and get some sleep.
The car drove smoothly, and after about half an hour, they arrived. Louis got out, opened the car door for Erina and gave her the house key, then went to the trunk to get her luggage.
Waiting for her to open the door, he brought everything into the house and bowed goodbye.
“Mistress, please rest. If you need anything, please call me.” Louis said as he took out his business card.
“Mr. Louis, tomorrow, please take me to the branch. I don't know the way.” Erina quickly spoke up when the man turned away.
“The chairman said to let you rest for a week to get better, and he also arranged for a private driver to pick you up.” Louis turned around and lowered his voice.
“Oh. Is that so? Okay, you go home.”
Louis bowed his head again and walked quickly. Before meeting Erina, he had imagined the image of an arrogant girl like other young ladies from noble families, but unexpectedly she was a polite, sensible, and understanding girl. It seemed that Hubert had a good eye, choosing for his son a lovely, beautiful, and virtuous wife.
Erina carefully locked the gate and went inside. Because she was the only one living here, Hubert chose a house with a moderate area, a very modern and unique design in a neoclassical style, simple but not monotonous.
After a few minutes of going around from the first floor to the third floor, Erina brought all her luggage into the bedroom and started to arrange it. Knowing that it was still early in country X, she did not dare call to inform everyone for fear of disturbing their sleep.
The only things she brought over were shoes, clothes, scarves, lipstick, and jewelry that were gifts from Henry and Clement on several birthdays and holidays, a box containing her parents' mementos, Orson's martial arts books, a laptop, and an unlimited credit card.
Seeing the cherry blossom brooch box, Erina picked it up, opened it, took out the brooch, and walked to the mirror, pinning it on her shirt.
The meticulous, delicate, and graceful design brought elegance and grace as a unique highlight to elevate the style of the outfit, making her silently admire it for a long time.
It was not until she heard her stomach rumbling that she took it off, put away all the things, then went back to the kitchen and rummaged through the refrigerator.
Looking at the boxes of prepared fish and meat neatly stacked with fresh vegetables, fruits, and countless convenient cold foods, Erina's nose suddenly stung.
She knew clearly that these were all things that Henry had asked Louis to prepare because Hubert didn't have time to care about such details.
Because she was tired, she just made a sandwich to fill her stomach and returned to her room.
Grabbing the landline phone placed on the small table next to the bed, Erina quickly dialed the phone number to call Lucia because her cell phone was still charging. After two rings, someone picked up the phone. Recognizing Lucia's voice, she quickly spoke.
“It's me, Erina, I've arrived home.”
“Oh, then I can rest assured. Are you tired, Mistress?”
“Just a bit. If I get some sleep, I'll be fine immediately. Ah... has the young master woken up yet?” Erina hesitated a bit when mentioning Henry.
“He's still sleeping. He came home very late last night, and he was drunk too.” Lucia answered sadly.
“Is that so? Okay, I'm hanging up now, I'm so sleepy.”
Holding the phone tightly in her hand, she sat absent-mindedly for a long time before calling Clement. At times when her emotions drifted into chaos like this, his words were the medicine that soothed her heart.
“I'm listening.” A deep, gentle male voice spoke.
“Clement, it's me, Erina.”
“Erina, Erina, have you arrived home? Are you tired? Have you eaten or drank anything?” He asked urgently.
“Yes, I arrived a long time ago but I was afraid you were sleeping so I didn't dare to call. I'm fine and just finished eating. Don't worry.”
“Erina, actually I went to the airport to see you off yesterday, I hid behind a pillar, I was afraid you would cry.”
The man's confession made Erina unable to hold back her tears. Imagining his image at that time, she felt so painful.
“Are you crying, Erina?” Clement asked worriedly when he heard her sobbing.
“No. Honey, please video call me tonight. Now you continue working.”
After hearing her lover's soft agreement, she hung up the phone, conveniently took out her cell phone, edited the familiar number to Clement's name, saved it, and lay down on the bed, closing her eyes.
A feeling of happiness mixed with sadness crept into her heart. It turned out he was there. She silently blamed herself for not looking around more. If she had looked a little more carefully, she would have met him. The last hug before parting was only a dream.
So many thoughts slowly drowned her into a deep sleep. When she woke up, the clock struck seven in the evening. She quickly rummaged through the refrigerator, looking for food to make dinner.
After eating, not knowing what to do, she decided to go to the mall to buy some personal items and a skipping rope. She had just arrived here and everything was strange to her, but because she didn't want to bother Louis, she called a taxi herself.
When Erina went from home to the shopping center, it went smoothly, but when she returned, an incident occurred. The streets here are similar, so just because Erina misread a number, the foreign driver dropped her off at the wrong place. When she discovered it, the car was gone so she had to walk.
Compared to the bustling and crowded streets in the city center, the neighborhood where Erina lived was extremely deserted. It was only nine o'clock at night but all the houses were closed.
While wandering in the deserted alley, suddenly feeling uneasy, Erina immediately turned her head. In front of her were three tall, bearded foreign men, with three goat-like faces, eagerly looking at her.
She had learned the language of this country so she understood that they were asking her to have group sex. Maybe they thought she was working as a prostitute.
“What are you guys doing?”
The voice of a man who spoke the B language very accurately suddenly rang out, causing the three men to turn their heads to look. In an instant, he stepped out of the dark corner and revealed himself, moving forward and standing next to Erina.
This was the first time Erina had met someone more handsome than Henry and Clement. His beauty made the three men stand still for several seconds.
“Don't meddle in other people's affairs.”
The guy in front spoke and the other two nodded and repeated what he said.
After a long time of mocking, one of them took out his nunchaku and quickly performed, swinging it back and forth but hitting the two guys next to him, making them scream. When he stopped, he let out a loud howl.
Erina and the handsome guy just stared blankly and wondered if these three guys were acting as a joke. It's so funny.
Seeing the leader raise his head and challenge, the handsome guy immediately snatched the skipping rope from Erina's hand, tore the plastic bag, and shook it in front of her and the three men's astonished, dumbfounded eyes.
“What the heck is he doing?”
The leader turned to ask the other two guys, but the only response was a series of head shakes.
Erina also didn't know what dance the hero who appeared in the middle of the night was planning to do.
After straightening the skipping rope, Erina's hero started spinning and jumping. The three idiots saw this and cursed a few sentences and approached him.
But every time they tried to approach, they were afraid the rope would hit them because the rotation speed was too fast, so they kept moving around him.
Finally, the leader counted to one, two, three and then rushed in to avoid being whipped by the rope, then jumped continuously along the rope. Next, the two remaining guys also imitated their seniors and rushed in to join the fun.
The two men had become stupid after being whipped by Nunchaku a few times, so when they saw their senior doing something, they did the same.
Watching all four people jumping up and down under the dim light, Erina opened her mouth and couldn't say a word. What the hell had happened to her? Could it be that these are three perverts and a retard?Download Novelah App
