CHAPTER 25 ♡

Hera, who was satisfied with the result of her cake, put it into the refrigerator. The young mother then left the kitchen area to check on the work of the servants she had assigned. Hera saw that their tasks were almost finished.
Hera helped them complete the decorations quickly. After 30 minutes, she and the servants finished decorating the living room, which was now adorned with light blue and white decorations. The result was beautiful and matched what she and her husband had planned earlier.
Hera climbed the stairs to her child’s room. Earlier, her handsome son had cried because he was hungry, so Hera prepared food and milk for him to stop his crying. Once he was full, Evan asked to be accompanied for his nap. While waiting for the cake to cool, Hera decided to let her son sleep first.
In her son's room, Lisa was there keeping Evan company while Hera was afraid he would wake up and look for her. So, she asked Lisa to stay with Evan, who was sleeping.
"Did he wake up at all, Lisa?" Hera asked.
"No, young lady. He has been sound asleep, probably because he was tired from playing," Lisa replied politely.
"Oh, okay. Thank you, Lisa. You can go back to work now," Hera said.
Lisa left the child’s room, and Hera immediately lay down beside her son. She gently kissed his chubby cheek and closed her eyes, feeling exhausted from her work.
Max, who was in the office, hurriedly finished his work so he could get home early. He didn’t want his wife to be worn out managing everything alone.
A few hours later, he had completed all his tasks. Max stood up and left his seat to exit the office. He could not wait to see his wife and child.
Upon arriving home, Max felt confused when he was not greeted by his wife and son. He saw Aunt Kyla walking toward him and asked about the whereabouts of his wife and child.
"Aunt Kyla, where is my wife?" Max inquired.
"The young lady is in Baby Evan’s room right now, young sir. We just finished preparing the living room decorations," Aunt Kyla replied.
"Oh, thank you for helping Hera with this," Max responded, suddenly noticing the living room had been transformed into the colors they had previously planned.
Max then walked up the stairs to his child’s room, eager to see them and relieve his fatigue.
He gently opened the door and quietly walked inside. He was surprised to find his son awake, playing with his mother's fingers, who was still asleep.
Seeing this made Max smile, as his son was not fussy despite just waking up. He approached baby Evan and gently kissed the forehead of his son, who would turn one year old today.
Evan, spotting his big dad nearby, laughed and stretched his arms to be picked up by him.
"Daddy is still dirty, baby. Wait here with Mommy. Daddy will go take a shower and then we can play," Max softly told his son.
Evan nodded and sat up on the bed. The little boy tugged on his father's hand, encouraging Max to come closer. Once he was close, Evan kissed his father’s cheek.
Max smiled at this gesture and kissed his son’s forehead.
"Evan, keep an eye on Mommy while she sleeps, okay? Don’t be noisy. Poor Mommy is tired. Okay, smart boy?" Max asked his son.
"Y...yes,d..da..dy !" Evan replied hesitantly.
Max smiled sweetly upon hearing this. He looked at his wife, still in deep sleep, and kissed her forehead before heading off to shower.
Baby Evan watched as his father walked out, gazing at him with sleepy eyes. But he didn’t cry because he had been instructed by his dad to be quiet. Evan lay back down slowly, smiling at his mother’s face. He leaned toward her and hugged her arm like a pillow.
Hera felt the touch and opened her eyes briefly before pulling her little son into her embrace. Once comfortable, she fell back asleep, still needing rest.
Fifteen minutes later.....
Max finished his shower and walked back to his child’s room. He smiled upon seeing his son peacefully resting with his wife. It seemed the handsome child had listened to his earlier command.
Max approached them and lay down beside his son. Evan, nestled between his parents, laughed joyfully.
“Da...daddy…” Evan called out to his newly arrived father.
“Yes, baby? You’re very good at listening to Daddy... Daddy loves you,” Max said as he hugged his son.
Hera awoke to the sound of whispering. She saw her son lying on his father's chest. She moved closer and hugged her husband’s arm.
"Honey, have you been home long? I’m sorry I didn’t greet you; I meant to stay with Evan for his nap, but I ended up falling asleep," Hera said with a hint of guilt for not welcoming her husband.
"It’s okay, sweety. I should be the one apologizing for leaving you to finish that work alone. Sorry about that," Max replied, using his arm as a pillow for her.
"I don’t mind at all. Besides, I had help from the maids, so it went a bit faster. I also made a birthday cake for our child. I hope he likes it," Hera said softly, nuzzling her head against her husband’s neck.
"He will definitely love it, sweety! Especially since it’s homemade," Max replied, gently kissing Hera’s forehead.
They joked and laughed on the bed while teaching Evan to speak more fluently. In the hearts of the young parents, many prayers were embedded for their future, wishing for their family to always be filled with happiness and prosperity that lasts forever.
