CHAPTER 26 ♡

Before the party started, Hera took her child and husband to their room to prepare for the welcoming event later that night.
Max bathed their son while Hera looked for clothes for them to wear. Evan, who loved water, was reluctant to leave the bathroom, so Max called for his wife to coax Evan out. Fortunately, Evan listened to his mother, and Max quickly dried him off and carried their son, wrapped in a white towel.
Hera told her husband to place Evan on the sofa so she could easily dress him. She applied baby powder to make him smell nice. Once finished, Hera quickly dressed her handsome son to keep him from catching a chill. Evan wore a light blue outfit consisting of a polo shirt and shorts, with a mini bow tie around his neck, adding a sweet and adorable touch for his special day.
After taking care of Evan, Hera also handed over her husband’s shirt since she knew Max had already bathed. Max wore a short-sleeved blue shirt and khaki chinos. He looked casual yet neat, exuding a warm and friendly vibe as a father ready to celebrate his son’s birthday.
For herself, Hera chose a beautiful white dress with light blue accents that matched the party theme. The dress was simply elegant, paired with comfortable low-heeled shoes, allowing her to move freely while attending to guests.
With their coordinated and colorful outfits, the family looked unified and ready to celebrate their happy moment with their extended family.
At 7 PM.....
The event was about to begin soon. Shortly after, guests started arriving, bringing gifts and congratulations. Evan, now sitting in Hera’s lap, beamed at the familiar faces around him. Max and Hera’s family had safely arrived at their mansion.
“Thank you to everyone who has come to our child’s celebration. We hope you enjoy this event with joyful hearts,” Max said as the head of the family to the guests.
“Happy birthday, Evan! Here’s your gift,” Guest 1 said while handing over a brightly colored box. Evan eagerly grabbed it.
When the games started, Hera invited all the children to join. “Come on, it’s time to play! Who wants to join the ball-throwing game?” she exclaimed enthusiastically.
As the children ran around the yard, Hera and Max enjoyed the company of the adult guests, sharing stories and laughter. The atmosphere felt warm and full of happiness.
When it was time to cut the cake, everyone gathered around the table. Max stood beside Evan, looking at his cheerful son. “Okay, everyone! It’s time to sing happy birthday to Evan!” he shouted, followed by cheerful singing from the guests.
Everyone sang with enthusiasm. Evan, with sparkling eyes, blew out the candles on the cake with his mother’s help. Cheers filled the room.
Before enjoying the meal, they prayed together to express gratitude for Evan's birthday and to wish all the best for their handsome son. Hearing the word "prayer," Evan immediately closed his eyes and clasped his hands together. He was such a smart child.
After that, everyone enjoyed the prepared dishes. “The food is delicious, Hera! Is this a new recipe?” Guest 2 asked while tasting the dish.
“Thank you! I tried a little bit,” Hera replied with a smile, pleased by the compliment.
When it was time to open presents, Evan sat on the floor eagerly. “Look, Evan! A new toy!” Max said, holding up the toy Evan took from the box.
Evan laughed happily, his face beaming. “A toy!” he shouted, capturing everyone’s attention. Those who saw it laughed joyfully at the growth of Hera and Max's child.
After the lively birthday party, the house began to quiet down. The guests, who had come with cheerful faces, had now left, taking with them beautiful memories of the special day. Hera and Max sat in the living room, looking at the remaining cake on the table.
“This party was really amazing, wasn’t it?” Max said with a smile, recalling the cheerful moments they had just experienced.
Hera nodded, her face glowing. “I’m glad everyone came, and Evan looked happy. All our efforts paid off.”
Evan, who had fallen sound asleep in Hera’s lap, looked exhausted after a day full of play and interaction. “He really enjoyed his day,” Hera said softly, stroking Evan’s chubby cheek.
Max smiled at his son. “We should celebrate like this every year. These moments are priceless.”
After a while, they both started cleaning up the remnants of the party. Hera collected plates and glasses while Max took the leftover cake to the kitchen.
“Do you want to save some for tomorrow?” Max asked, eyeing the still-beautiful cake.
“Yes, we can enjoy it together at breakfast,” Hera replied, smiling at the thought of the delicious cake.
Once everything was tidied up, they sat on the sofa, enjoying the peace after the festivities. Max pulled Hera close, and they exchanged glances, feeling grateful for the day that had passed.
“Evan is already one year old. It feels like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital,” Hera said, her voice filled with emotion.
“Yes, time flies so fast. We’ve created so many memories with him,” Max replied, cherishing every moment they had experienced as a family.
Not long after, the soft voice of Evan waking up broke the silence. He rubbed his eyes and looked around. “Baba? Mama?” he asked sleepily.
Hera quickly approached and picked up Evan. “We’re here, sweetheart. Happy birthday again!”
After Evan woke up and rubbed his eyes, he immediately felt hungry. “Cake!” he shouted, remembering the cake-cutting moment that had just passed.
“Yes, dear. Let’s enjoy your leftover birthday cake!” Hera replied with a smile. She carried Evan to the kitchen, where the leftover cake was still sitting on the table.
Max had already prepared small plates and spoons. “I’ll share this cake with all of us. Who wants some first?” he asked, grinning.
Evan bounced in Hera’s arms, his face lit up as he raised his hand high.
Hera placed Evan in his small chair while Max cut a piece of the still-fresh cake. “Here it is, for our birthday hero!” he said, serving a slice of blue and white cream cake on Evan’s plate.
Evan grabbed his spoon excitedly but then stared at the cake in disbelief. “Yummy cake!” he exclaimed joyfully before starting to feed himself.
Hera and Max exchanged glances, feeling happy to see their child enjoying the cake. “You know, sweetheart,” Hera said gently, “this cake is made by Mama just for you. May you always be as happy as you are today.”
“Forever!” Evan replied cheerfully, making both parents laugh.
Max also took a piece of cake for himself and Hera. “Hera, you must try this cake too. I’m sure it’s the best birthday cake ever,” he said while taking a bite.
“Thank you, dear. It’s all thanks to our hard work,” Hera replied, savoring the delicious sweetness of the cake in her mouth.
The three of them enjoyed their time together, sharing stories about the recently concluded party. “What did you like most about today, Evan?” Max asked.
Evan thought for a moment before answering innocently, “Toys! And cake!” He laughed, causing both parents to laugh too.
That night, as they enjoyed the leftover cake, the atmosphere felt warm and full of love. They shared laughter, stories, and hopes for the future. Each bite of cake strengthened their bond as a family, reinforcing the connection they had built.
After finishing the cake, Hera wiped Evan’s hands and looked at his happy face. “Let’s clean up and get ready for bed. Today was wonderful, and we will surely remember it forever.”
Evan nodded, though his eyes were starting to droop. “Sleep, Papa. Sleep, Mama,” he said, yawning widely.
They tidied up the kitchen and prepared Evan for bed. In the calm of that night, they knew that Evan's birthday was not just a special moment but also the beginning of many beautiful memories to come.
