Chapter 16 Sixteen
Third Person POV
Facing the entrance of Wisteria, one battalion of armored soldiers are standing and waiting for the commander to announce the order. Soldiers were divided into groups of archers, swordsman, and swordsman with spears riding horses.
The commander is the one whom the princess Celine fought with. View from their vantage point is a blue translucent aura dome-border like that divides between Erioesnemia and Wisteria.
Because it is transparent, they can see what is inside. People and creatures are all innocent of what is happening. Anxiety, uncertainty, cries.
The commander tried to touch the translucent border, but only smashes off his hand with intangible force.
A soldier approached him and knelt beside him, before bowing.
"Captain, we tried to enter several times but we failed. One of our soldiers was paralyzed after being forced to enter here," without getting an answer from the captain he continued speaking. "Captain, our new captives are still unconscious. What are we going to do with them? The leader is also complaining."
The captain frowned at him. "Is he ordering anything new? What's his complaint?"
"About… We should move fast..." the soldier shook his head because he wasn't sure if what he was going to say was right. "On… On the l-last page. What's the use of the story if it's not over—"
The captain quickly pointed the sword at his neck. The bright full moon reflected on the shining sharpness of sword.
"Tell me… How nice the end of the story would be if, if it was rushed!" he returned the sword to its sheat. "Say, it's close. Because the princess is already doing her job, according to plan."
Then he stared sharply at those inside the border.

Larmine POV
Me, Gray, and Kairo, we were walking in a messy chaotic alley. Fortunately, I am with Gray, his healing powers makes me feel at ease. At least he can heal me if I'll have scratches on my foot.
Gosh, I still can't believe those wolves, I'm really afraid that time. I thought I was at the end, but then, Gray saved me.
Yeah, I owe him.
I winced at the dusty and chaotic road here.
"Argh! Gosh!"
I waved my hand in the air.
"Can you don't act like that. You're so pesky." Jake said.
I rolled my eyes. "It's because there are flies, plus, the stench, can't you smell it? Smells like…" I sniffed. "Rusty? Metal? Iron?"
Jake just shook his head, before turning to Gray. "Gray, are you sure you felt a Guardian around here?"
Gray didn't give him a glance and continue roaming his eyes around. "Yes I'm sure. But… It's just unbelievable, they suddenly disappeared, like bubbles."
"Bubbles?" I stepped between the two of them and put my arms around their necks. "What do you mean?"
"Maybe they had leave right away." Jake said. "Even if it's a bit… nothing really?" Gray shook his head.
I just nodded too. Well, we have no choice but to continue walking even though it's so dusty. For sure, I also look like a gorilla because of my damaged makeup.
I removed my arms around them and just continued to roam my eyes.
As soon as I saw something familiar, I immediately stopped.
"Guys… W-What's that?" I pointed that out.
The two immediately looked at what I was referring to. It's blood. It spread to the parts of the cement compartment. It is still fresh.
Gosh!
"No wonder I can smell metallic iron something." I said.
The two walked closer to it. Of course me, I don’t. It's just that… Argh!
Gray squatted, with his index finger he snuggled a little there then sniffed.
Yuck!
"Kairo?!" Gray exclaimed. "It's Cairo! It's Kairo's blood! J-Jake…"
I saw Gray's teary eyes. I immediately rolled my eyes, until it landed on another trace of blood.
"T-There's more,"
Gray immediately went there and smelled it as well. "Kris! They're together!"
"P-probably…" that was all mouthed.
I got captivated in Gray's eyes, especially when I see him in tears.
"G-Gray..." Jake approached us carrying a rusty iron with blood on the end of it. As before he smelled it too.
"Zillan… The three of them are together, Jake… Jake, they need me. They are wounded, I need to heal them… Jake."
I was shocked when I saw tears coming out from his gloomy eyes. I never expected someone from them would be this affectionate and vulnerable. All of them, I think of them as Guardians whose only job is important.
But seeing Gray like this… I feel guilty for what Arlene said that we will just use them just to be safe, taking advantage. But, I just thought, on the other hand, they are the only ones who are really capable of fixing the mess here.
I don't even see a single person here, where are they?
Nevertheless...
"L-Larmine…" I turned to Jake.
I don't know but I was suddenly nervous at the serious expression on his face. Different compared to my first impression of him, jolly and fun. Well, his jolly and fun vibe was gone when they all met.
"O-oh?"
"You can leave if you want. Stay away from us, hide, so the wolves can't see you."
What?
"Huh? W-why?"
"It's more dangerous if you stay close to us. You'll be doomed. We're leaving too." I can't believe what this man is saying.
"What?! Am I being kicked out? What if a wolf chases me, who will protect me, huh?"
"J-Jake…" Gray said.
Jake took a deep breath before continue speaking. "I'll be honest with you. First, we don't need you. Second, we're their target and you're just hooked. Third, who are you to include, to be protect, or to be rescued? You're not a Guardian or someone connected to our lives. We're just here to hide, but now that they're here, we need to get back to our world. "
I was dumbfound.
"We already have an idea to get out of here, in a few days, we'll be leaving as well. Once we get out, your world will be back to normal, I'm sure of that."
Will the world be back to normal by the time they leave? How?
"So you can leave now because we'll still be looking for those with us. Come on, Gray." Jake walked ahead, but Gray kept looking at me.
"Larmine…" Gray gulped. "I think Jake is right. There's something you three should know…"
"Gray! Come on!" He didn't look at Jake. "When we're with you… We're in the other dimension—"
"Gray!" Jake's patience was running out and Gray was about to walk away.
"Why did you say that about that thing?" That was the last thing I heard from Jake, before they vanished.Download Novelah App
