A strange, sturdy spherical dome. Thomas looked around frantically. He had been here before, this was where he met Edgar's ethereal form. But everything was a bit different compared to the last time. The was a thick black fog with a purple hue covering the entire area of the dome. " It feels familiar and different at the same time" Thomas thought to himself. He was right, the dome's barriers were slightly blue the last time he was here but it had changed from blue to grey now. " I'm in my mental sphere. But...according to the books, only ability users could access their mental spheres and I'm not an ability user. " " Oh right, the books aren't wrong. I've been here twice and every single time I had to pass out before coming here on both occasions. I didn't actually access it, it was purely coincidental ". In Neburia, every living creature had what they called the " Mental Sphere ". It was an ethereal, spherical dome that harboured it's owner's consciousness within. Ability users were able to enter and exit their mental spheres at will, provided they had the required energy to do so, but for people with no ability, it was very difficult to do so. Some people could go a whole lifetime without being able to access their mental sphere because their bodies were not capable of tapping into the world energy, whether Qi or Mana. " The walls are sturdier than the last time and ...what are those things ?" " Are they like Beast skins. I recognise it; its the skin of those tiger-like Beasts, but what is it doing in my mental sphere?" Thomas mused. Aside the black and purple fog, the dome had undergone other significant changes. There were Beast skins and furs on the walls of the dome and there was a bright red crystallised egg shaped object which was emitting light and radiating heat. " That looks like a Core." Thomas commented. Cores were like the hearts of all Ability users or beings with power. It was one of the most important parts alongside the Body and the Mental Sphere. Cores supplied the body with power and energy, pulsing with life force that fueled the abilities and strength of its owner. " A core? Does that mean I have an ability? " " And why is there a core in my mental sphere? It's supposed to shroud my heart or something like that". Thomas was lost in his thoughts. Nothing was making sense in this situation. " Beats me " He sighed in frustration. The fog was becoming thicker and messing up with his vision. His confusion and frustration was making the situation worse. " Calm down! I just need to calm down. " He assured himself . " If I'm here, I my ethereal form, that means my body is in an unrest state currently. I need to get out before they send for that Healer guy again. He might find out who I am this time around " . With much difficulty he managed to pull himself together and move slowly toward the center of the dome. He slowly moved forward through the fog and he had finally reached the egg shaped object. " It's really a core". He touched it gently with his finger. The warm sensation was soothin at first ,but it started egg burning up his incorporeal fingertips and causing him to recoil in disgust. After a few seconds he tried again and again and still nothing happened. " Screw this!" He picked it up and pitched it towards the wall. Suddenly, the object cracked open and shadows started pouring out of it. They crawled over each other quickly towards Thomas. " Ahh!" " Get back! Back, get back!!" He yelled. He ran back as fast as he could and slammed his body against the solid barrier of the dome. The shadows didn't seem bothered by his efforts and were crawling around the walls. " I recognise this feeling...this aura. This shadows...they remind me of that monster. " " The monster that sent me to the Beast realm " Gexon's image appeared in his mind. " How is it possible? What in the Sam Hill is going on here. " " Red skinned Demon guy! Are you here?" He called out in frustration. The shadows were still swirling around the dome and the thick fog was getting denser making the entire dome pitch black and blinding Thomas. The flickering of the red core was the only source of light but some shadows had seeped back into it and the flickering had stopped. " Great. Lost, despaired and blind. " He threw his hand in the air. He lay down for what felt like eternity, cussing and moaning inwardly until... His sense of hearing picked what seemed to be the faint sound of flowing water. " I have to check this out" . Thomas followed the sound of the flowing water. It was very difficult, he was in darkness and couldn't see a thing. " I'm getting closer to it" " Closer " " Yes!" He shouted aloud as his foot stepped into a small pool of water. " But...how is this supposed to help me get out of here" He mumbled with a nervous laugh. He sat down beside the pool of water to wait and continue waiting for his sense of sight to come back to him. For hours on end he sat and waited. " Hmm...what is this" He picked up an orange marble lying a few metres away from him . Suddenly the sound of running water stopped, he jumped up and turned around in panic thinking there was somebody approaching him. A white light shone on the walls and an opening appeared. " Oh baby! My ticket out of here" He shouted looking at the orange marble. *************************************
