Chapter 14: Family Secrets

Zach sat at the kitchen table, his mind still reeling from the revelation of his brother, Marcus. He watched as his mother, Eleanor, bustled around the kitchen, preparing a late afternoon snack for his daughters. He needed answers. He needed to understand.

"Mom," Zach began, his voice hesitant. "How did Marcus end up here? Why didn't you ever tell me about him before?"

Eleanor paused, her eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and regret. "Zach, it's a long story," she said, her voice soft. "Your father and I decided it was best to keep it a secret. We were afraid it would be too much for you to handle."

"But why?" Zach pressed, his voice laced with frustration. "Why keep it a secret? I would have loved to have known. I would have loved to have a brother."

Eleanor sighed, her eyes downcast. "Zach, your father and I were planning to tell you. We were going to visit you in the city soon, but then... things happened."

"What things?" Zach asked, his voice urgent. "What happened?"

Eleanor hesitated, her eyes filled with a mixture of fear and sadness. "Zach, your brother was in danger," she said, her voice trembling slightly. "A group of your father's enemies were trying to kidnap him. They wanted the diamonds."

"Diamonds?" Zach asked, his brow furrowed. "What diamonds?"

Eleanor took a deep breath, her eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and regret. "Zach, your father was a diamond smuggler," she said, her voice barely a whisper. "He had a lot of enemies. They were always after him. And they were always after the diamonds."

"But why Marcus?" Zach asked, his mind racing. "Why would they want to kidnap him?"

Eleanor's eyes filled with tears. "Zach, your father was afraid for Marcus," she said, her voice choked with emotion. "He knew that the enemies were looking for him. He knew that they would stop at nothing to get their hands on the diamonds. So he sent Marcus away, to a safe place."

"Where was dad then?" Zach asked, his voice filled with curiosity. "Where did he go?"

Eleanor hesitated, her eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and regret. " He was somewhere in Las Vegas I didn't know the exact ko location but your dad change here name year ago he already Change identify now so do not be so worried about him."
"May I know mom?" He ask but then someone was coming so she left him on the kitchen.

"Wait someone was coming I'll took you later son."
He watched as his mother left the kitchen, her footsteps fading into the distance. He looked at the photographs of Marcus, his brother, the man he had hit. He had so many questions. He had so much to learn.

He knew he had to find a way to make sense of it all. He knew he had to find a way to move forward. He knew he had to find a way to make things right.

He looked at the photographs of Marcus, his brother, the man he had hit. He had so many questions. He had so much to learn.

A moment later, she reappeared, her hand clasped in that of a man. A man with familiar, weathered features, a man whose eyes held a lifetime of stories. It was Zach's father.

Ethan stood frozen, his jaw slack. He'd barely processed the revelation of Marcus when this happened. Then, his eyes widened even further as he spotted a familiar figure standing near the porch—Kong.

Kong, seemingly unfazed by Ethan's shock, simply smirked. "I knew you'd be here," he said, his voice low and calm. "Let's go inside. We'll fix everything."

Zach's father, after a brief but heartfelt reunion with his wife and son, stepped back to allow Kong to enter. The juxtaposition of the hardened criminal and the seemingly ordinary suburban home was jarring, yet somehow fitting given the extraordinary circumstances.

Zach found himself alone in the kitchen, the weight of the day's revelations crashing down upon him. The discovery of a brother, the lingering threat to his wife, his father's dangerous profession, the precarious situation with Kong—it all became too much. He broke down, tears streaming down his face, a torrent of emotion finally released.

The sound of footsteps approached. His mother entered first, her face etched with concern, followed by Kong. Kong's usual aloofness had vanished, replaced by an unexpected gentleness. He placed a hand on Zach's shoulder, a surprisingly comforting gesture.

Eleanor knelt beside her son, wrapping her arms around him in a warm embrace. "It's alright, my dear," she whispered. "It's alright. We'll get through this, together."

Kong remained silent, but his presence was a silent promise of support, a grim assurance that despite the chaos, the nightmarish situation they were in, they wouldn't face it alone. The weight of the family secrets, the dangerous game they were playing, and the looming deadline still hung heavy in the air, but in that moment, surrounded by the unexpected comfort of family and the unsettling reassurance of Kong, Zach felt a glimmer of hope. The fight was far from over, but for now, he could allow himself to cry, to grieve, to find solace in the unexpected embrace of his family, however unconventional it may be.
"Ethan were was my daughters?" Zach ask because he thought I was Ethan and his mom comforting him while he's not fine.
"As a spy you must be brave, remember what you swear before you left my place!" Kong said.
Zach look back and found out that it wasn't Ethan but Kong the one who help him. He was so depressed of what's really happening but then his mom said his your father.
