Chapter 16: Weapons of Vengeance (the the way to las Vegas)
The air hung thick with anticipation in the cavernous underground chamber. Kong, his face etched with grim determination, stood before his sons. Zach and Marcus, both radiating a raw, hungry energy, were a whirlwind of excited anticipation. Their eyes, burning with a mix of anger and grief, scanned the rows of weaponry lining the walls.
"It's time," Kong boomed, his voice echoing through the cavern. "It's time you learned what it truly means to be a Kong."
He gestured towards the arsenal, a chilling array of weapons crafted from the very heart of the earth. “You are not just warriors. You are Kongs. Your bloodline is forged in fire, tempered by the very earth itself.”
Zach, fueled by the burning desire to save his beloved wife, moved with a calculated fury. He picked up a sleek, obsidian blade, its edge radiating a chilling aura. The weight of it felt natural in his hand, an extension of his own rage.
Marcus, however, was drawn to the brut, he gaze fixed on a heavy-duty baton, ran his fingers along its length. "This is my weapon," Marcus thought, a sense of confidence growing within him. "This is how I fight. This is how I protect my family."
Kong, watching their reactions with keen interest, nodded approvingly. "Good choices," he said. "These will serve you well."
Zach and Marcus, armed and ready, followed Kong back through the labyrinthine corridors, their steps lighter, their hearts filled with a newfound sense of purpose. They were a family now, bound by blood and circumstance, facing a common enemy. And they would fight. They would fight for their lives, for their loved ones, for their future. They would fight for everything they held dear.
The fight for Mekaila's life had just begun. Kong, watching their reactions with keen interest, nodded approvingly. "Good choices," he said. "These will serve you well."
As they left the bunker, Zach turned to his father and brother. "I can't wait until tomorrow," he said, his voice resolute. "We need to act now. We need to find Mekaila."
Marcus nodded in agreement. "I'm with you, Zach. We'll find her."
Kong, his eyes filled with admiration, placed a hand on Zach's shoulder. "I know you will," he said. "You've got the heart of a warrior, Zach. And you've got a family behind you."
Zach felt a surge of strength wash over him. He had a family. He had a brother. He had a father. He had Kong. He had a reason to fight. He had a reason to make things right. He had a reason to save his wife.
His wife, Eleanor, sat in the center of the room, her usually vibrant face now pale and drawn. Her hands, usually steady and strong, trembled slightly as she clutched a worn, leather-bound book. The book, a family heirloom, contained ancient lore, cryptic verses that hinted at the existence of a hidden world, a place where Mekaila might be held captive.
Eleanor's gaze met Kong's, her eyes filled with a desperate plea. "Kong, we must hurry. There's no time to lose. Mekaila...she needs us."
He stopped pacing, his imposing figure casting a long shadow over her. A wave of guilt washed over him. He had been too slow to act, too focused on preparing for this moment, that he had delayed their departure. He had been blinded by his own anger, his own need for vengeance.
"Eleanor, I know," he rasped, his voice thick with emotion. "I know I have failed you, failed Mekaila. We should have been there for her, protecting her. But it's not too late. We will find her."
He pulled her into a tight embrace, feeling the tremors of her body against his own. He held her close, wanting to shield her from the pain he knew was tearing her apart.
"We are leaving now," he said, his voice firming, a steely resolve settling over him. "We will find her, Eleanor, I promise. We will bring Mekaila back to us."
Eleanor looked up at him, her eyes filled with a flickering hope. "You will find her, Kong," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "You always find a way."
He nodded, his jaw clenched. "We are Kongs, Eleanor. We never give up. We never stop fighting for what we believe in."
He rose, extending a hand towards her. "Come, Eleanor," he said, his voice strong and unwavering. "Let's go find our daughter."
Eleanor took his hand, a flicker of determination returning to her eyes. She stood tall, the weight of her grief somehow lighter, the fear somehow diminished. They would find Mekaila and save her.
Zach’s eyes, normally sharp and fierce, softened as he looked at them. “My little loves,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “We have to leave for a while. But we will be back as soon as we can.”
He reached out and gently stroked Mekaila's soft, brown hair, watching as her eyes, filled with an unspoken understanding, met his.
“It’s going to be okay, my dear,” he said, his voice a low rumble. “We’re going to get your mother back. Then we will all be together again.”
But even as he spoke those words, a tremor of doubt ran through him. He knew this quest was dangerous, a journey into the heart of darkness. He knew he might not return. He was a Kong, a warrior, but the thought of leaving his daughters, his precious girls, filled him with a fear he had never known.
Mekaila, her face a mix of confusion and concern, looked up at him. “Dad, will you be back soon? We’ll miss you.”
Her small voice, usually filled with laughter and energy, was now laced with a note of sadness.
Zach’s heart twisted. “I will be back as soon as I can, my love. I promise. But you have to be brave for Mama.”
Mezachela, too young to fully understand the gravity of the situation, looked up at her sister, her bright eyes filled with a childlike innocence. “When will you come home, Dad?” she asked, her voice soft and trusting.
He bent down, meeting her gaze. “Soon, my little one. Soon. Just be strong and take care of your sister.”
He hugged them both, his arms feeling strong and reassuring around their small frames. He held them for a long moment, his love for them as vast and deep as the earth itself. “I’ll be back, my loves,” he whispered, his voice choked with emotion. “And then we will be together again.”
He knew that the journey ahead was fraught with peril, but his resolve remained steadfast. He was a Kong, and he would never back down from a fight, especially not when his family was at stake. He would bring back his wife, he would be reunited with his daughters, and they would all be safe. He would make sure of it.
"Mom" shout of Marcus, "by don't worry we'll be back soon we love you." He added.
"I'll be waiting you guys may God is with you" crying response of their mom.
The engine roared to life, a powerful rumble that vibrated through the small car. Zach, his face set in grim determination, shifted the gear into drive, his eyes scanning the road ahead. He glanced in the rearview mirror, catching a glimpse of his two daughters, Mekaila and Mezachela, pressed against the back window, their faces a mixture of fear and excitement.
"Hold on tight, my loves," he said, his voice firm but laced with apprehension. "It's going to be a bumpy ride."
The car lurched forward, its tires spitting gravel as it tore down the dusty road. Mekaila, her eyes wide with a mix of fear and defiance, turned to her sister and shouted, "Dad! Wait! We're coming with you!"
Mezachela, her tiny hand clutched tightly in Mekaila's, looked at her sister with wide, pleading eyes. "But Dad, we want to help Mama! We'll be good, we promise!"
Zach's heart ached as he heard their cries, their voices barely audible over the engine's roar. He turned his head back to the road, his jaw clenched. He couldn't put his daughters in danger, not even to save his beloved wife. He knew this journey was perilous, a descent into a dark world of shadows and whispers.
"I know you want to help, my loves," he said, his voice amplified through the car's speakers. "But you're too precious to risk. You need to stay here, safe and sound. I'll be back as soon as I can, and we’ll tell you all about it. Just stay strong for Mama, okay?"
The car picked up speed, leaving a cloud of dust in its wake. He could see the fear in their eyes, the desperate pleas in their small faces, but he knew he had to do this. He was a Kong, and he was a warrior. He would bring back his wife, he would bring back their mother, and then he would be back with them, safe and sound.
As the car sped away, their shouts faded into the distance. He knew they would miss him, but he had to do this. He had to bring their mother back, no matter what.
Zach gripped the steering wheel, his knuckles white. His eyes were fixed on the endless expanse of sand and sky, his mind racing, consumed by the desperate urgency of their mission. He had to find Mekaila, his beloved wife, held captive by a ruthless enemy.
Beside him, Kong sat like a granite monolith, his massive frame radiating a simmering anger that mirrored Zach’s own. Kong’s silence spoke volumes, a silent testament to the depth of his fury and his unwavering determination to bring his daughter-in-law home safe.
In the back seat, Marcus, his face drawn and pale, stared out the window, his mind filled with the horrifying image of Mekaila, his sister-in-law, trapped in the clutches of their enemy. He could barely contain his own rage, a silent storm brewing beneath his stoic exterior.
The phone rang, shattering the tense silence that had enveloped the car for hours. Zach jumped, startled, his hand instinctively reaching for the phone. He glanced at Kong, a silent plea for understanding passing between them.
The silence in the car was broken by the shrill ring of Zach's phone. He glanced at the screen, his heart sinking as he recognized the number. It was the kidnapper.
"Zach," a voice rasped through the speaker, a voice that sent shivers down Zach's spine. "Don't forget what I told you. Time is running out. Find the one you hit. Find him before it's too late."
Zach's hand trembled as he brought the phone to his ear. "I'm doing everything I can," he said, his voice strained. "I'm on my way."
"Hurry," the voice hissed. "And don't try any tricks. I'm watching you."
The line went dead. Zach stared at the phone, his mind reeling. He had to find the man he hit. He had to find him before it was too late. But how? How could he possibly find him in this vast, unforgiving desert?
"Zach," Kong said, his voice low and steady. "We need to focus. We need to find Meilaka."
Zach nodded, his gaze fixed on the road ahead. He knew Kong was right. He had to stay focused. He had to find Meilaka. He had to save her.
"Wait," Zach said, his voice suddenly firm. "Before we go any further, I need to talk to her. Just for a few seconds."
"Zach," Kong said, his voice filled with concern. "Are you sure?"
"I have to," Zach said, his eyes filled with desperation. "I need to hear her voice. I need to know she's alive."
Zach dialed the kidnapper's number again. The phone rang once, twice, three times. Then, a voice answered. "What do you want?"
"It's me, Zach," Zach said, his voice trembling slightly. "I just want to hear her voice. Just for a few seconds."
"No," the voice said, cold and unforgiving. "You're not getting anything from me. Find the one you hit. Find him before it's too late."
The line went dead. Zach slammed the phone down on the dashboard, his face contorted with rage and despair. He had to find Meilaka. He had to save her. And he had to do it now.
"We'll find her, Zach," Kong said, placing a hand on Zach's shoulder. "We'll find her together."
Zach nodded, his eyes filled with determination. He knew he wasn't alone. He had Kong. He had Marcus. He had a family. And he would do whatever it took to save his wife.
After a few hours of travel they already arrive at Zack's home.
"Zach," Kong said, his voice low and steady. "Do you have a computer? We need to track the kidnapper's location."
Zach nodded, leading them to his home office. The room was cluttered with papers and half-finished projects, a testament to his frantic life. He switched on the computer, his fingers trembling slightly as he navigated the familiar interface.
"We need to call him," Kong said, his gaze fixed on the screen. "We need to get him talking. We need to get him to reveal his location."
Zach nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. He dialed the kidnapper's number, his hand shaking as he brought the phone to his ear. The phone rang once, twice, three times. Then, a voice answered. "What do you want?"
"It's me, Zach," Zach said, his voice strained. "I'm ready to tell you where he is."
"Good," the voice rasped. "I've been waiting for you. Now tell me where he is."
"I need to hear her voice first," Zach said, his voice firm. "I need to know she's alive. Just for a few seconds."
"No," the voice said, cold and unforgiving. "You're not getting anything from me until you tell me where he is."
"I'm not going to do that," Zach said, his voice rising in anger. "I need to know she's safe. I need to hear her voice."
Kong, his eyes narrowed, stepped forward. "Zach," he said, his voice low and steady. "Let me handle this."
Kong took the phone from Zach's hand. "Listen," Kong said, his voice calm and measured. "You want to play games? Fine. We'll play. But I'm warning you, you're playing with fire. And fire burns."
Kong paused, his gaze fixed on the screen. "Now, tell me where she is. Tell me where Meilaka is."
Zach try to wake his dad that the kidnapper said he should not bring police or make any tricks or else his wife will be died but too late for him coz Kong lost his temper.
The kidnapper hesitated, his voice laced with uncertainty. "I'm not going to tell you anything."
"Then you're making a big mistake," Kong said, his voice cold and hard. "Because I'm going to find you. And when I do, you're going to regret this."
Kong hung up the phone. Zach and Marcus watched him, their faces filled with a mixture of awe and fear. Kong had a presence, a power, that commanded respect. He was a force to be reckoned with.
"He's not going to tell us where she is," Kong said, his gaze fixed on the screen. "But i track already him. See his location!"
Kong began to type furiously on the keyboard, his fingers moving with the speed and precision of a seasoned hacker. He was a master of his craft, a digital warrior in a world of shadows. He was the only one who could save Meilaka.
