Chapter 10 FIRST LOST
Zero's POV
I was following the guy who picked me up from the classroom earlier as we walked down the ground floor hallway.
Many students stood at the sides of the hallway, staring at us, but none had the courage to speak up and just let us pass by.
We turned to the stairs leading to the second floor, where I could see the representatives of each first-year section, and some students also looked our way as we climbed up.
Their gazes towards me were hostile, as if I had done something wrong, making it seem like they wanted to attack me at any moment.
I ignored their stares and continued walking, following the guy.
I heard him speak, saying, "They won't touch you, the second-years know you're being called by our first-year representative," while he kept his back to me, continuing on our path.
So those hostile stares were from the second-years. I wasn't surprised by their looks, given the altercation between me and them over the past few days.
It didn't take long before we reached our destination, as the guy stopped in front of a door, and I looked up at the section labeled above the door (1-Z).
So, this is first-year section Z...
We stopped at the door, and the guy grabbed the doorknob, saying, "Prepare yourself for what's about to happen." Then he opened the door.
I was greeted by a crowd of students who turned their attention to us, and all I could think was that there were more of them than my friends from section Y with Miyuki.
I slowly walked inside and noticed everyone was staring at me as I entered, with a guy sitting in the middle of the group.
I saw the guy in the middle glance at me and slowly stand up.
Suddenly, I felt an odd sense of anxiety as this guy stood and stared at me.
It had been a while since I felt this way, a sign that something unpleasant was about to happen to me.
I took a deep breath to calm my mind.
I looked back at the guy, studying his appearance to recognize him.
He had a buzz cut with black hair, sharp eyes fixed on me, a slightly pointed nose, thick eyebrows, black lips, brown skin, a large build, and he was definitely taller than Miyuki around 6 feet in my view.
He began to speak, "Are you Zero from first-year section Y?" still staring at me seriously.
I held his gaze and replied, "Yes, that's me."
I noticed him cracking his knuckles and flexing his fingers as if preparing for me.
Oh shit, here we go again...
I had a gut feeling this was going to turn into a fight, but this was the kind of thing I wouldn't back down from.
Suddenly, he charged at me unexpectedly, winding up for a punch from the right, and without thinking, I raised both arms to cover my face from the blow.
His heavy punch hit me, forcing me back against the door from its strength.
He moved in and continued landing hard punches, forcing me to keep my face covered.
I suddenly felt pain in my hands and couldn't endure my situation anymore.
So, I lowered my left hand to throw a punch back, but he quickly outmaneuvered me, landing a punch on my left eye, causing my hands to drop.
I was wide open...
He took advantage of this moment, showering me with powerful punches to my stomach, making me double over in pain.
He stopped momentarily, grabbing my shoulders and throwing me away from the door, causing me to crash to the floor, and as I planned to get up, he slammed his right foot onto my back.
I couldn't stand up and felt the pain in my back.
I heard shouts from people inside the classroom, yelling, "Get up! Fight! Show them who you are!"
I stood up again, ignoring the pain in my body, mustering the courage to raise both my fists and get into a fighting stance.
The crowd inside erupted with cheers when they saw me preparing to fight the representative, their eyes sharp on him.
He smiled at me, getting ready for our match.
I began to think of a way to fight him; given his long limbs, I had to get close without being hit.
Close-quarter combat would win me this, so I had to be careful with my moves.
I charged at him, raising my guard just as he threw a punch from the right. I dodged to avoid it and prepared for a counter.
I saw an opening on his right side and threw a left punch, but suddenly his right fist slammed into my face.
It hit the left side of my face, and the speed of the punch dropped me to my knees as he kicked up with his left foot, striking my chin and knocking me flat on my back again.
I struggled to recover from the blow, feeling blood on my lower lip, which I wiped after biting it during his earlier kick.
I stood up again, my knees shaking, pain coursing through every part of my body.
One punch... I just needed one punch; I would regret it if I lost without landing a hit.
I forced myself to raise my hand and stood up again, staring at him.
I charged at him with all my strength, dodging his punch to the right so I could close the distance, but he followed up with a left punch that struck my nose, causing my head to jerk back, yet I forced myself to endure the pain.
I pulled back my left fist, bending my waist to deliver a powerful punch from below.
My left fist connected with his jaw, and it felt like his head would separate from his neck.
But I saw that wouldn't be enough to take him down, and he quickly kicked me in the stomach with his left foot, sending me crashing to the floor and losing consciousness.
To be continued.....
