Chapter 11 PROCESS

Zero's POV
I woke up in a familiar place and surveyed my surroundings.
I must have passed out again.
I saw students around me in the room, but I didn't recognize them. Slowly, I got up, and their gazes turned towards me.
I heard a guy speaking from behind me, “Oh, so you’re awake.” I turned to look at him.
This was the guy who picked me up from my section earlier.
I asked him, “Where am I?” and looked at him seriously.
He answered my question, saying, “You’re in our room, section Z, after you passed out from your fight earlier.” His tone was calm.
I recalled what had happened earlier, slowly remembering that I had fought a representative from the first year. I also remembered losing because of the strength he showed; I could say I really had no chance, given the difference in our builds and strengths.
I returned to my awareness when someone opened the door, and a guy walked in.
I noticed it was the guy I fought earlier, and he looked in my direction.
“It’s good to see you awake,” he greeted me upon noticing I was conscious, then walked towards me.
He spoke again to introduce himself, “Kizaki, first-year representative,” while extending his left hand.
I reached out to shake his hand, accepting that I had lost to him. “Zero, Section Y,” I replied politely.
He was respectful, even if he was rough around the edges...
It would be embarrassing to disrespect him; I had already lost, and I didn't want to be arrogant.
He spoke again, saying, “I came back because I need something from you,” inviting me to follow him.
We left their room, walked down to the second floor, and headed down the ground floor hallway to the back of the building, where there were trees and a nice hangout spot.
I scanned the area and realized for the first time that there was a gymnasium within Taesan High, a bit far from the building we came from.
I heard him say, “You’re probably wondering why I wanted to talk to you, right?” I looked at him.
I replied, “You’re right. What else do you need from me?” as I sat on the grass next to him.
He spoke again, “What made you decide to enter this kind of school, Zero?” he asked me again.
I answered immediately, “It’s simple; I just want to be number one in this school and be recognized by every student here.” I responded calmly to his question.
He replied, “That’s a great ambition you have for this school, but you can’t achieve it right now.”
I furrowed my brow and asked, “What do you mean?” as I looked at him.
He answered, “Because you can’t defeat the third-year who runs this place.” He met my gaze.
I asked him again, “How do you know?” still looking at him.
He took a deep breath and said, “Because I couldn’t defeat him in my fight against him, Zero.” I was shocked by what he said.
If he couldn't defeat the third-year, then I had no chance either since he just defeated me.
“But if you want to take him down, Zero, with your two fists, I can surely help you,” he added.
I asked him again, “How can you help me, Kizaki?” as I stood up.
He smiled at me and said, “You need to become the first-year representative because that’s the only position that will allow you to fight him,” while still looking at me.
So, only representatives could face the head of Taesan High.
“Why can only representatives confront him?” I asked him again.
He replied, “Because those are the only students strong enough to face him.”
It hit me that I still needed to get stronger to face him effectively.
I also needed to become the representative of the entire first-year class to be number one at Taesan High.
“What do I need to do to become a first-year representative like you?” I asked him again.
He quickly responded, “You just need to defeat me in a fair fight, Zero, but right now, you can’t do that.” He stood up.
I heard him say again, “Come to our room when you’re ready to fight me again; I’ll give you three weeks, and if you pass that, forget about the ambition you have.” He said it all in a long line and walked away from me.
I need to defeat him before I can become the first-year representative, and I found that reasonable since he was strong. If I could manage to defeat him, I’d surely be able to take down the third-year head of Taesan High.
But I thought, what do I need to do to defeat that representative?
I reflected on how I lost to him, realizing that he threw powerful and heavy punches at me, combined with Kizaki's speed and size.
I slowly understood what I was lacking as I looked at my own body.
Let’s just say I have plenty of experience, but if you look at my physique, I’m just average for a young man.
There’s only one thing I need: training to improve my physique, and I’m starting that today.
I began walking back to my room to talk to Miyuki and our friends.
To create what they call a process.
To be continued.....
