Chapter 18 REPRESENTATIVE

Zero's POV
Miyuki accompanied me to my apartment along with our friends after my match with Kizaki at the gymnasium. They wanted to keep an eye on me and make sure no one bothered me at Taesan High while I was still exhausted and sore from the fight.
I felt grateful for their willingness to protect me as their friend and loyal companions.
I slowly lay down on my small bed to rest and sleep early. I also told them I wouldn’t be going to Taesan High tomorrow to allow my body to recover from the match. I planned to go back the day after so I could regain my strength and prepare for what would come next, knowing that once I returned, I would no longer be just a regular student.
Two days later
I woke up to the sunlight streaming on my face; it was already noon, and I had slept soundly the day before. I had rested well, and the pain in my face and body from the fight with Kizaki was gradually fading.
Today, I planned to go back to school and see what had changed at Taesan High since the incident with the representatives.
I got out of bed to shower before heading to school. Before long, I had left my apartment and saw Miyuki standing in front, apparently waiting for me.
She spoke, “Are you ready to go back? Representative?” she asked with a smile.
I replied, “Yes, but don’t call me that. I don’t like it.” I said seriously, causing her smile to fade.
She then asked, “Why? Don’t you like being called that?” I nodded and started walking down the stairs.
“Because I’m not used to it. I just took the position, not the title,” I added, hoping she wouldn’t call me that anymore.
She understood my point, and we continued walking toward Taesan High.
When we arrived at school and entered through the gate, I could feel the stares of people from every corner. But I noticed something on the rooftop and turned my gaze there; I saw two people above, but I couldn’t make out their faces clearly.
I ignored it and walked with Miyuki toward our classroom.
We opened the door when we reached our room, and I noticed everyone inside looking in our direction.
I could see in their eyes how happy they were to see me and they approached me one by one to ask how I was.
“How are you feeling?”
“You were amazing in your match against Kizaki, especially that three-sixty kick you did.”
“I’m glad you’re back.”
“Is your body still sore?”
I laughed at their comments, answering their numerous questions and telling them I didn’t want to be called a representative because my name was enough for me.
I sat with them and asked what had happened while I was away, and they shared a lot of news.
“Ever since you beat Kizaki, all the second-years have been challenging first-years,” one of my classmates on my left said, and I responded, “Why? What’s the reason?”
I heard Miyuki laugh, prompting me to look at her.
“Of course, it’s because of you that they’re doing that. The moment you defeated Kizaki, they gained hope that things would change for the first-years and that they couldn’t just bully us anymore,” she explained at length.
Suddenly, the door opened, and we all turned to see who it was. Kizaki walked in slowly and stood in the middle of us.
He started speaking, “From now on, I will no longer be referred to as the first-year representative, because first of all, I can’t change our situation as first-years, who are always bullied by second-years. So I’m handing over the title of representative to you, Zero.” He said this respectfully while looking directly at me.
“We’re ready to follow you, along with my friends, and prove to you that you can be the number one at Taesan High,” he added.
I smiled at him and stood up to face him properly.
“Don’t worry, I’ll do what I promised, Kizaki,” I replied.
He grinned at me and asked, “What are your plans now, Zero?” I pondered his question. What should I do?
I turned to Miyuki to ask her for suggestions, and she didn’t hesitate to answer.
“What should we do next?” I asked her, raising my left eyebrow.
She immediately responded, “First, we need to find out who’s leading the second-years.” I looked at Kizaki to confirm what Miyuki meant.
Kizaki noticed my question and replied, “Kaizel, he’s the representative of the entire second-year and a lackey for the third-years,” he said seriously.
Miyuki spoke again, saying, “Zero, if we’re going to act, we need to start from the bottom and work our way up.” I looked in her direction and said, “What do you mean by that?”
She grinned at me and said, “We need manpower because starting now, the entire second-year will be our enemies.” She stared at me with determination.
Kizaki then spoke, and I turned to him as he said, “If it’s manpower we’re talking about, you won’t be disappointed with my section.”
“I’m sure there are first-years who will help us when we confront the second-years, but the big question is when do we start taking them down, Zero?” Kizaki asked me.
I thought about when would be a good time to start, but I told myself it wouldn’t be wise just yet since I was still recovering from my fight with Kizaki.
I spoke, “For now, we won’t take the initiative. Let them make the first move, so we’ll have a good reason to fight them.” Everyone agreed with my statement, Kizaki nodded, and Miyuki smiled at me.
