Chapter 20 CONFLICT

Zero's POV
After several days of rest, my body’s aches and wounds from the fight with Kizaki had healed.
I woke up early this morning to continue my usual exercise, which consisted of jogging one kilometer before heading to Taesan High.
I started running alone since I didn’t inform Miyuki if she wanted to join me.
I arrived at Natalie’s coffee shop and took a break in front of her shop.
I had already completed one set of five hundred runs, but I had one set left, so I stood up from my seat.
I was about to continue when the door to Natalie’s shop suddenly opened, and she stepped out.
We stared at each other for a few seconds before she spoke up.
“Oh, it’s you, Zero. Have you eaten? Come inside,” she said, smiling.
I took a good look at her face and could say she was a beautiful girl with her black hair reaching her shoulders, round eyes, thick eyebrows, a slightly upturned nose, red lips, and fair skin at about five-five in height. I was sure of it.
“Zero? Is something wrong?” she asked, bringing me back to reality as I blinked a few times.
“No, nothing,” I replied, still looking at her.
“Is that so? Have you eaten? Come on, join me; I don’t have anyone with me,” she said, stepping closer and pulling me without me even noticing.
We entered her shop, and she sat me at the counter. I looked at her.
“What would you like to eat?” Natalie asked, smiling at me.
“I’ll have an omelet with rice,” I replied, glancing around.
She began cooking while I took in the interior of her shop. It was very clean and organized, with plants in front and beautiful interior design thanks to the colorful drawings and paintings on the walls.
I glanced at the counter table when she suddenly placed my food in front of me, looked at me, and said, “Eat well,” smiling at me. I looked at the food before me; it smelled delicious.
She sat beside me with a plate of omelet with rice just like mine.
We ate together, chatting, and I must say she was enjoyable to talk to and kept me entertained.
30 minutes later
Natalie and I finished eating, and I was heading back to my apartment to shower and get ready for school.
I quickly got ready and left my apartment, walking to school alone.
Upon arriving at the gate of Taesan High, I noticed many people inside.
I entered and walked through the crowd, and many students glanced in my direction, stepping aside when they saw me passing.
I looked up at the second floor and saw several students staring at me; some even shot me hostile glares.
My eyes caught familiar faces of second-years, and they looked furious, as if they wanted to kill me with their stares.
I remembered these were the ones I had confronted when I first got here. I smiled at them to further irritate them and walked away.
I finally reached my classroom and entered. I saw my classmates were already there, but Miyuki was still absent.
“Where’s Miyuki?” I asked them, and one replied, “She hasn’t arrived yet.”
I nodded and sat in a chair for a few minutes when suddenly the door crashed open.
Miyuki entered with some bruises on her face, and I immediately stood up.
“What happened? Who did this to you?” I asked as I approached her.
“Some second-years. I heard they were planning to mess with you,” she replied, holding her nose, which was swollen and bleeding, with some scrapes on her body.
Now I had a reason to crush those second-years since they were the ones who approached and started the fight.
I told everyone to come with me because we would retaliate.
All my friends joined me, including Miyuki, despite her injuries, insisting she wouldn’t stay behind in the room alone.
We reached the middle of the hallway and saw students gathering on the ground floor. I could tell there were a lot of them.
I noticed Kaizel with his friends, as they were facing a group of students.
I approached them, and they noticed my presence and turned to us.
Kizaki spotted me coming and asked what was happening.
“What’s going on here?” I asked, glancing at the students they were facing, who were also facing us.
“They want to mess with you, Zero, and they plan to fight you with their numbers,” he replied.
So, we were facing second-years. I wasn’t surprised, given their numbers in front of us.
There were clearly more of them than us; we only had about fifty in total, including Kizaki’s section.
On the other hand, the second-years we faced had almost eighty, nearly four sections’ worth, while we were only two sections.
Now I understood why those second-years were glaring at me earlier; this was what it meant.
I looked at my friends, and I could see they were serious, with no fear in their eyes.
This would be a great fight for me; after all, I had never experienced a brawl like this in my entire life.
A guy from the opposing group stepped forward and said, “Are you Zero?” He looked at me with no emotion.
“What if I am?” I replied, my voice blunt.
He smirked and said, “You’re done now.” His expression turned serious.
I smiled back at him, saying, “Bring it on!” and glanced at my friends, signaling them.
We charged at them, and I sprinted forward, followed by my friends, some even shouting as we ran.
The opposing group rushed toward us as well, and a clash was about to happen in the next few moments.
With just four meters left between me and the second-years, I jumped high to kick one in the face just before the brawl broke out among the students.
To be continued.....
