Chapter 23 WINNER

Zero's POV
As I stared at the sky, I saw the image of a man standing in front of me, holding something.
A metal pipe!
I noticed he was about to swing it at me, so I hurriedly turned left and crawled away until I was able to stand up slowly.
I looked back to see the guy with the metal pipe running towards me.
Shit!
Just when I was completely exhausted, they decided to charge at me.
I glanced at him and waited for him to get closer, planning to fight with whatever strength I had left in me.
I raised both my hands to my face, even though they were aching and trembling from exhaustion.
As he got closer and prepared to swing the metal pipe at me, I readied a strong left punch to deliver my final blow.
But before my punch could land and before the pipe could hit me, he suddenly collapsed in front of me.
Kizaki had kicked his head, causing him to fall over and not move anymore.
I lifted my gaze to Kizaki, looking at him with a confused expression at what had just happened when he saw me.
But he just smiled and walked towards me, saying, “Looks like you still have some fight left.” We both looked at the second-year student lying in front of us.
“I was going to throw at least one punch, but you had to jump in.” I said, lowering my hands since they were aching.
He chuckled beside me and replied, “Sorry, I thought you needed my help since you’ve been fighting those guys for a while.”
I glanced at him and said, “Maybe you should look at yourself; your face is covered in bruises and you’ve got blood on your nose.” I said calmly.
I scanned the area, and when Kizaki noticed, he mimicked my actions.
The chaos that had started earlier was slowly coming to an end, with many people lying unconscious on the ground floor of the school.
Most of those I noticed were our first-year classmates with Miyuki, still standing and able to fight against the second-years.
Meanwhile, many second-years were lying on the ground unconscious, while others were retreating due to the beatings they had taken.
Before long, Miyuki approached from behind us and tapped us to turn around.
I checked her out from head to toe and returned my gaze to her face, which was swollen with a bruised nose and a black eye.
“What happened to your face?” I asked, noting her terrible appearance.
She chuckled weakly and replied, “Of course, I fought alongside you guys.” She looked at me in a low voice.
I also noticed she seemed weak now, probably due to the way she spoke and the bruises on her body from being overwhelmed by the second-years earlier.
Kizaki spoke to Miyuki with concern, asking, “Are you okay?” while looking at her.
She responded, “Yeah, I’m fine.” and sat down in front of us to rest.
A little while later, our other friends approached us, all smiling.
It turned out many of our group were still around, and some were helping those who couldn’t stand or walk properly.
As for the second-years, many were lying on the ground unconscious, and others were retreating because they couldn’t handle it anymore.
I caught everyone’s attention and said, “I never thought we could do this together.” I smiled and looked at them one by one.
Everyone seemed pleased and smiled at what I said, brightening their spirits even just a little.
Some commented, saying, “Of course, we’re with you, Zero.”
“Right, if it weren’t for you, this wouldn’t have happened.”
“We’re glad we could help you even a bit.”
I smiled at their words and felt that they had shown something great in the fight. This was the result of what I had done and the trust they had given me as their teammate.
I invited everyone to leave the school after what had happened since we had nothing else to do.
The first-years had won the fight against the second-years, except for Kizaki’s group since we were with them.
15 Minutes Later
We arrived in front of a shop, and I heard Miyuki and Kizaki say, “Natalie’s Coffee Shop.” I turned to look at both of them.
“What are we doing here?” Kizaki asked, and I didn’t hesitate to answer him.
“We’re eating; I got hungry after the fight.” I replied in a calm voice.
We all heard Miyuki’s stomach growl from hunger, so we turned to him and burst out laughing.
He said, “I’m starving, guys.” while looking down shyly.
I led the way into Natalie’s shop, and she noticed me, quickly calling out my name.
“Zero! Is that you?” she said with a big smile on her rosy lips, looking happily at me.
I replied, “I have some friends with me; we’re a big group.” I smiled back at her while standing at the door.
She said, “Okay, let them in.” as she nodded.
I opened the door and called for my friends to enter Natalie’s large coffee shop.
To be continued…..
