Chapter 27 CONFRONTATION
Loki's POV
I'm on the rooftop of our building, sitting down with Wakasa standing next to me on my right. Suddenly, the door to the rooftop opens, and Kaizel, a second-year, walks in slowly towards me.
He starts speaking, "I’ve instructed our second-years to spread out on the ground floor." His voice is somewhat sultry, and I nod in response.
I stand up from my seat and walk to the edge of the rooftop to see if there are indeed people down below.
I notice a good number of them following my orders to prevent the first-years from entering Taesan High.
I know for sure that they will return here to fight the entire school.
But I just don’t know when these things will happen.
So, it's better to make our move starting now because I can tell that this year’s first-years are not to be underestimated.
Ever since Zero arrived with them, he has been leading some of them.
I can’t wait to face him, but before he can come up here, many of my underlings will hold him back.
I turn to Kaizel and say, "Make sure no first-year can come up here, or you'll be the one to answer to me." He nods and looks away.
I speak again, "You can go now and join your group." He turns around and leaves immediately.
I return to my seat, take a deep breath, and exhale.
Wakasa asks, "Are you okay?" I look at him.
I reply, "Yeah, I’m just irritated that the first-years have the audacity to challenge us this whole school year." I shift my gaze upward to look at the sky and close my eyes.
I hear him say, "Don’t worry, no first-years will make it up here." I smile while keeping my eyes shut.
He's right because we have a lot of people down below, even if there’s been no news about Zero’s group in recent days.
But I have a gut feeling that something will happen today because of the events of the past few days.
Minutes pass, and silence blankets Taesan High as the sun rises higher.
Suddenly, the door to the rooftop bursts open, and I open my eyes to see Kaizel staring at me.
He shouts, "They’re here!" I’m startled and quickly get up to peek over the edge of the rooftop, noticing the first-years standing close to the gate.
I smile because my instincts didn’t fail me; something will go down here.
I see Wakasa stand on my left, looking at the crowd below.
I turn to Kaizel, who is still standing, and tell him, "Don’t let them come up here." I give him a menacing look.
He nods and turns to close the rooftop door.
Zero's POV
We’ve arrived at Taesan High, entering together because we’re ready for whatever happens now.
We march straight until we reach the ground floor near our building.
My eyes immediately catch the sight of students below and people on each floor of the building looking our way.
All I can say right now is that there are more of them than us, and it seems like the entire student body of Taesan High is against us now.
I stop walking, and my companions do the same as we see the crowd on the ground floor.
I smirk at our opponents, knowing that this will be a good fight.
I look to my left to see Miyuki and our friends, saying, "Are you ready?"
They nod back at me, and some even shout,
"We're ready!"
"This is solid!"
I glance to my right and see Kizaki smiling at me with his crew.
I nod back and turn to face our opponents directly in front of us.
I start cracking my knuckles in preparation since they're only a few meters away from us.
I look left and right, shouting, "Let’s fight!"
I dash forward, and my companions follow suit.
The students we’re up against also shout and run to meet us.
As our groups are about to collide, I pull back my left fist, jumping to strike first at our opponents.
My punch lands hard on a second-year's face, and I follow up with a powerful kick to his gut, sending him away from me.
I notice someone to my left throwing a punch at me, but one of my companions intercepts him with a counter.
A brawl breaks out on the ground floor as we charge into them, and I don’t hold back on what’s happening.
I grab the collar of an unfamiliar face, knowing for sure he's not one of ours.
With my right hand gripping his collar, he looks at me and even smiles.
I quickly deliver a punch to his nose with my left hand, releasing my grip to throw another strike.
I pull back my left fist and deliver a strong punch to his gut, exploiting his low defense, then grab his head with both hands and knee him hard with my left leg, knocking him to the ground.
I hear someone shout my name, "Zero!"
I scan the area and find Miyuki looking at me.
She calls out, "We’ve got this! You go up ahead!" Suddenly, I feel a tap on my back, and it’s Kizaki.
He says, "She’s right, Zero. Let’s get you to the rooftop." I nod and glance back at Miyuki.
I shout back, "I’m leaving the fight here to you!"
My companions respond with,
"We can handle this!"
"Go up!"
"This is nothing to us; they’re just more in number!"
I turn away from them with a smile on my lips, encouraged by everyone's confidence.
Kizaki and the remaining members of our group and I run to the staircase leading to the second floor.
We reach the stairs leading up, climbing without any obstacles in our path initially.
I take the lead and turn left to ascend the next part of the staircase, spotting second-years standing in the hallway to block our way.
I stop, and my companions notice my gaze and look as well.
I hear a second-year in the middle say, "You’re stopping here." His serious look is fixed on me.
I grin and reply, "Then stop us here." I quickly dash up to confront them.
The second-year who spoke kicks towards my gut, but I catch it with both my hands.
I look at him and say, "You’re too easy to read." I yank his foot downward to throw him off balance.
As his face comes closer, I remove my left hand while keeping my right hand on his foot.
I load up for a strong punch with my left hand, landing a powerful strike on his face that echoes with force.
My companions follow my lead, attacking the other obstacles blocking us.
We finally reach the second floor, looking to the right as we hear footsteps approaching us.
I see a lot of opponents waiting, and we are definitely in over our heads now.
Kizaki stands to my right, while my other friends are on my left, having just taken down those who blocked us.
At the end of the stairs is the path to the third floor, and we have to get through the opponents in front of us to continue upwards.
I take a deep breath, close my eyes, and open them again, exhaling before charging toward the people on the second floor.
