Chapter 28 TO THE TOP
Zero's POV
We charged forward and met the second-years in front of us.
The second floor was too cramped due to our numbers, so we unleashed powerful kicks on each opponent to push them back and knock them down, preventing the ones behind them from forming up against us.
Slowly, we advanced with my companions, swiftly taking down anyone who approached us with our fists.
Then, out of nowhere, a second-year leaped towards us, catching me off guard, so I stepped back to avoid his grasp.
However, he managed to grab the faces of two of my teammates on either side, causing them to lose their balance and fall to the ground.
Due to this incident, the fight intensified even though they outnumbered us, as retreat was no longer an option.
The remaining members of my group and Kizaki stood firm, ready to fight them all at once.
We were now in the middle of the second floor, close to the next staircase, so we pushed ourselves to advance, albeit slowly.
I pushed against a second-year in front of me and quickly punched him with my right fist.
I stepped forward and pulled one of them towards me, smashing his head against mine, then followed up with a left hook to knock him down.
Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed someone about to punch me, so I preemptively elbowed him in the face with my left arm.
He took a hit to the nose, and I kicked him hard in the groin, causing him to kneel in pain.
Suddenly, someone wrapped their arms around my waist, preventing me from moving, allowing a second-year to land a clean, solid punch to my face.
I felt pain in my mouth from the impact of the punch.
I grew annoyed and kicked the guy who punched me in the stomach with all my strength to push him away. I spotted a wall on my right.
I quickly turned and slammed the guy holding me against the wall.
I hit his head hard against the concrete, and he slowly released his grip.
I straightened up, raised both my fists, and assumed a fighting stance in front of my opponents.
I spoke to them, “What’s up, ready to fight?”
Seeing my challenge made them angry, and they charged at me together.
One of them led the charge from the left, so I prepared a right punch and swiftly struck him in the face.
I quickly pivoted to my left to deliver an elbow strike to another second-year’s nose.
I noticed another opponent preparing to punch me, so I quickly stepped back and kicked him in the face, forcing him to retreat.
Two opponents charged at me from the left and right, so I took two steps back and moved to the left.
I disrupted their formation because one of the enemies on the left rushed at me and swung his left fist toward my face.
I ducked and looked up at him while winding up a punch with my right hand from below.
I landed a hit on his chin and followed up with another punch to his stomach, causing him to stagger back.
He blocked his friend, who intended to rush me, so I stepped forward and wound up a kick with my left foot.
I hit him in the chest, and both of them slammed into the concrete wall, knocking the one behind him down, preventing him from getting back up.
I looked around, and seeing no one rushing at me, I searched for Kizaki.
I saw my friends battling against each second-year in our path.
Before long, I spotted him right in front of me, exchanging blows with opponents ahead.
I moved toward him and saw an opponent preparing to punch him from the right, so I swiftly kicked the guy in the side with my right foot.
I glanced to his left, noticing a second-year plotting to punch him in the face.
Quickly, I grabbed Kizaki’s collar and pulled him toward me.
I caught his surprised gaze as we locked eyes, and I smiled at him, turning my attention to the remaining second-years.
He straightened up on my left and also faced our opponents.
There were only a few left, as many lay knocked out in the hallway, unconscious.
Three second-years stood in front of us, and I exchanged glances with Kizaki, who looked back at me.
I nodded, lightly tapped his chest with the back of my left hand, and charged at the second-years.
I kicked one of them in the middle with my right foot and quickly punched the one on my right with my left hand.
Kizaki struck the one on his left, and I moved in to face the others.
An opponent rushed at me and threw a left punch. I dodged to the right and quickly seized his face with my left hand.
I noticed the wall on my right, so I dragged him over there and slammed his head against the concrete, then released him.
He fell slowly, losing consciousness, and I noticed the remaining second-years stepping back, fear evident in their eyes as I glared at them.
I grinned and charged toward their direction.
Some of them faced me and engaged, throwing punches, but I didn’t back down and matched their strikes despite their numbers.
Slowly, I advanced while trading blows, gradually thinning their ranks.
Before long, we had taken down everyone on the second floor, leaving only Kizaki’s crew standing.
We proceeded to the third floor, ascending the first part and turning right to continue to the second part, noticing that no one was blocking our path.
We reached the third floor and simultaneously looked to our left, spotting students standing not far away.
I guessed they were third-years.
Kizaki whispered behind me, “We’re facing third-years now.”
I wasn’t wrong; this was where the real fight would begin as we headed toward the rooftop.
I wound up with both my feet and sprinted toward the third-years, leaping into the air to kick one of them in the middle.
I hit him, and chaos erupted on the third floor.
