Chapter 29 ROOFTOP

Zero's POV
The chaos on the third floor began as I charged at the third-years. Kizaki and my teammates joined in, battling the opponents around us. I found myself in the middle of the hallway, surrounded by my friends throwing punches.
The first to strike at me was a third-year with a powerful right hook. I dodged to my left and saw his Adam's apple. I readied my right fist and struck his throat, causing him to cough as he knelt before me.
I stepped over him when another third-year lunged from my left, kicking at my right cheek. I quickly blocked with my right arm and wrapped it around his leg to prevent his escape. I stepped in close, winding up for a punch with my left fist to his face, connecting cleanly and drawing blood from his nose before I released his leg.
He fell to the floor in front of me, and I stood over him, preparing to kick his left leg before swiftly striking his right cheek with my foot.
He lost consciousness from the blow and collapsed onto the hallway floor, allowing me to advance and confront the others. The fight continued on the third floor, and I faced each opponent with quick counterattacks against their every move.
While exchanging blows with the third-years, I realized I had strayed far from Kizaki and my teammates since I had advanced ahead of them. Suddenly, I felt someone grab the collar of my shirt from behind and throw me hard against the wall on my left.
The impact cracked my bones, and I winced from the pain, feeling as if I might break something. I leaned against the wall to rest for a moment as the third-year who had attacked me approached, slender in build and about my height.
I prepared myself for his next move as he kept advancing toward me. Just as he reached for my face with his right hand, I quickly threw a left punch.
My fist connected with his right chest, forcing him to step back. I straightened up and charged at him again.
I kicked out with my right foot, hitting his left arm hard, causing him to spin left. Then, I followed with another kick from my left foot, landing my ankle against his neck, knocking him down.
Before long, Kizaki and the others caught up with me and joined in on the fray on the third floor.
We were nearing the last staircase leading to the rooftop; we had already passed the halfway point in the hallway, and only a few third-years remained standing, while most of the first- and second-years were below us.
I kept pace with my teammates and stayed engaged in the fight against the third-years. A third-year flew toward me, and I swiftly grabbed his collar with my right hand as he turned to face me.
I greeted him with a hard left punch to the face, hitting him squarely on the lip, causing it to split and bleed. I then kicked the back of his left knee with my right foot, and his left leg buckled, bringing him down to the ground.
Grabbing his hair, I repeatedly struck his face with my left fist until his nose and lip swelled.
Feeling the blood on my left hand, I stopped and released his hair, letting him fall. I surveyed the surroundings and saw that the fight on the third floor had ended; all the third-years were sprawled out in the hallway, slumped against the walls, unconscious.
Kizaki approached me, pointing out the path to the rooftop, which was close to where we stood.
He said to me, "I’ll go with you, Zero." He locked eyes with me.
I frowned and asked, "Why?" maintaining a serious gaze.
He replied, "There are two people on the rooftop, and I’m sure of it." His expression remained calm and steady.
I took a deep breath and exhaled, asking, "Who are they?" in a quiet voice.
He quickly responded, "Loki and Wakasa." His gaze still fixed on me as I lowered my head.
I thought to myself that I recognized the name Wakasa, but nothing came to mind, so I asked him again.
I raised my head and asked, "Who’s this Wakasa?" looking at him again.
I didn’t wait for him to answer, instead walking to the side against the wall of one of the rooms and sitting down briefly to rest.
Kizaki followed and sat next to me, saying, "He’s Loki’s best friend, and I’ll fight him."
I looked at him and saw he had his fists clenched. I ignored his gesture and kept my focus straight ahead, observing the third-years lying on the ground, some unconscious and with bruised faces.
I spoke without looking at him, "If that’s what you want, I’ll let you fight this Wakasa." I stood up.
I walked toward the stairs leading to the rooftop to confront whoever was above us. Kizaki and the remaining members of our group followed closely.
I instructed my friends to stay on the third floor and wait for Kizaki and me to come back down. They agreed and promised to keep watch over this floor to prevent anyone else from coming up.
We reached the stairs while walking, and I informed our group that Kizaki and I would be heading to the rooftop.
We started climbing, turning right for the second section, where two doors were visible. We walked until we reached the doors, and I grasped the doorknob, slowly turning it to open.
To be continued.....
