Chapter 25 LAURA

Kaden opened the door for us to enter. I don't know why I still felt nervous like I was going to meet with the American president.
Or is it because I got angry for an innocent girl like her, and now I am feeling embarrassed for acting stupid and childish. I just hate myself for that.
" Hey," his hold on my hand tightened a bit. " It's okay. "
I took a deep breath. " She's gonna hate me if she finds out that what happened. "
" That's only if one of us have to tell her what happened. "
I smiled, feeling a bit relieved. " Thanks. "
" Hey, Kaden, what took you so long? " Said the beautiful voice, causing me to smile more wider.
" She has a beautiful voice. "
He leaned to my ear, " But not as beautiful as yours. " He kisses my cheek.
" Oh, my God!" She covered her mouth from screaming more louder. " Is this the Ana you always talk about? "
Kaden looked at me, smiling. She rushed to me, holding my hands. " It's a pleasure to meet with you, Ana. My name is Laura and I am Kaden's baby sister. " She winked at him.
" Let's not keep you waiting, I've got some thing special for us. " Pulling me by the hand, she said. " Come on. "
" French fries? " I said with my eyes.
" Yeah, Kaden told me it was your favorite. "
I look at Kaden again, " He did? "
" Yeah, I guess you two have a lot in common I'd say. " She shared the meal in our plates, she wanted to add more to mine but I refused to let her.
" I don't eat too much. " I said, with a smile.
Honestly, I was beginning to love her so much. Maybe the sayings are right... Don't judge a person with out finding out what he is.
I'm such an idiot.
" So..." She started, sitting on a seat. " Kaden told me a lot about you especially when you were twelve. I can't believe I wasn't around to witness the show. "
" What show? "
" How you played smart at him with your age, and the rest of them I can't remember. You need to see the way I mocked him when he said he couldn't guess your age right.
I always thought my brother was the smart ass but, I guess I was wrong. He definitely isn't. " She grinned at him.
Kaden rolled his eyes, still minding on his food. He looked at me, then stared away immediately. " He did? " I asked.
" Of course. Tell me, what was it like knowing you were mated to an alpha? " She picked a spoonful of the French fries, grinding it slowly.
" Well, it didn't feel like a great news to me. I almost thought it was the end of my life. Hearing and reading a lot of werewolf stories, made me f*cking hate destiny. "
She laughed. " It's common. Every Alpha's do experience that from their human mates. But lucky you to have him, he's really good to be with. Patient and understanding, although some times he's annoying but, you'll get to love that part of him the most. "
I looked at Kaden for the how many times again?.. Hearing this made me love him the more. I can remember all those times he came to take me, how rude and annoying I sounded to him.
I damn hated him like he was the devil,, but now, he's even sweeter than an angel.
I bursted out laughing for no reason, or maybe that's because of the way he was staring back at me. Or, the fact that I found staring at him funny.
He only rolled his eyes playfully at me.
" So, how do you see the human world to ours?" She asked again.
" Honestly, the human world is safe, but here feels more safer. It's been three months I lived here, I have never heard any crazy news about some one getting lost or killed or thieves sneaking into homes and the rest of them.
Unlike the humans, Aish... those creatures are really really really annoying. Bloody liars and fate destroyers. I can't believe I was born being a pure human. " I said, regretfully.
Kaden stared at me but I didn't want to return the gaze. I wasn't actually expecting myself to get this angry. Talking about the last two sentences, I was actually referring to mom, Gwen and Danielle.
" Ana... "
I didn't let him say further, " They lied to me. They gave me so many reasons to hate you. To doubt what fate has for the two of us. And I was a fool to believe them. "
" You're talking about your family, aren't you? " Laura pitifully asked.
I nodded my head. " Well, all thanks to my Dad who made me understand more better. " I grinded on the fries, fading the anger with a smile.
I watch him sigh in relief. " It's all bye gone now. I'm happy we are cool together. "
After we had finished eating, some maids came to take the plates away. Kaden folded his arms around his chest, he's been quiet since he finished eating, Laura and I did most of the talking.
" Kaden, " Laura called, " can I borrow Ana for a while? "
" Of course. "
We left the room, " Do you have to take permission before you can have me? "
" Yeah. "
I chuckled. " Why? Besides you aren't any body. "
" That isn't for Kaden. You don't take his property without telling him. "
" Oh, "

The day passed gracefully slow. I'll admit, today was fun and I really enjoyed every bit of Laura's company. She told me more about Kaden, both things Mrs Green had told me about and those she didn't.
Sitting on my bed, I cuddled my legs to my chest, my jaw rested on my knees. I was just smiling like I had lost a nut or something until little Crystal came interrupting.
I can't believe she could learn that annoying part from Hilda. She squatted before me, looking interested to hear a new gisting gossip.
I didn't say any thing to her, just staring at her was all I did. I can't believe she's about to turn to a gossip. " Don't beg me, I ain't telling you any thing. "
She turned around, then squatting again. " Fine, I made new friend today. Are you okay now? "
She blinked at me. " Okay, we had a great lunch together and a short walk around. Okay now? "
She rested her head in her hands, shutting her eyes closed. I can't believe she is really a gossip.
" Hey, Crystal? " I called but she didn't answer. " Crystal, I wanna go out, would you mind joining me? " She didn't say anything, " Guess I'll have to go alone then. Good night. " I kissed her head before leaving.

Hilda was coming from the opposite direction with a tray in her hands. A golden cup and a silver jar contained in it.
" What's that? " I asked as she approached closer.
" It's a wine." She answered.
" Wow! " I exclaimed. " I can't remember the last time I ever had a personal taste of wine. Can I have a cup? "
" Sure, of course. " She poured some wine into the cup, I took it into my grip.
The cup was halfway to my mouth when it slipped off my hand. I was panting heavily like I had just run a country race.
" Miss, are you alright? "
I stared at the cup now lying on the ground, then slowly at Hilda who looked more terrified than I am.
" Are you alright? " She asked again.
" Some thing is not right. Some thing doesn't seem right. "
" I don't understand, what doesn't seem right? "
" Nothing. Nothing happened. " I picked up the cup, dropping it back in the tray. " I'll send some one to get this cleaned up. " I lost the appetite to taste the wine, what just happened....
Is way too complicated than a crazy Nightmare...
