Don't let me pay for the sins of my mother

ASHTON'S POV
"Logan mentioned that he already met your elder sister and she's damn pretty. When are you gonna introduce us too?" Dexter said with a chuckle as he moved to the side of the snooker table and kicked a small white ball with his cue stick. It collided with several others and straight way entered a hole. "Your turn." He grinned at me, leaning his cue on his shoulder.
"You have no idea how pretty she is." I smiled and positioned to play. Glancing up at him from my bent position, I added. "You boys keep your eyes off my sister." Now returning my gaze to a ball and focusing my cue on it as I kicked it and just like Dexter's, it collided against others and rolled straight into a hole.
"Ay! Look at that!" I heard Rhys said from behind us, clicking his tongue afterwards. "Logan you're right. Ash has become really protective more than ever before." He added and they laughed.
"But seriously Ash, your sister's really gorgeous_just like a dazzling fairy. You'd be having a lot of guys to fight off of her soon, don't you agree?" Logan added.
I turned briefly at the duo, narrowing my eyes at them. They were playing the dart game earlier and Rhys was now casually caressing a small, blue arrow in his hand.
"Right. I hope you guys don't fall on that list too. I mean, I'm her brother but I'm often mesmerized by her charm and aura, talk more of playboys like y'all." I chuckled and leaned up.
"Really? She must be really impressive then. Will you set up a meeting for us?" I sent Dexter a warning glare and he raised his hands in surrender. "Chill bro, just pulling your legs." He laughed.
"Man! Look how protective he became." Rhys chuckled.
"Told you guys." Logan added.
"Okay enough talk about me and my sister boys. Logan how are things going with Amelia?" I said and that did the trick.
Dexter and Rhys rushed him with their questions.
"That's true. Because we went on a brief trip about a week ago, Dexter and I couldn't keep tab on your progress." Rhys said.
"Did you ask her out already? What did she say?" Dexter added.
I glanced at them and dropped my cue on the snooker table before I walked across the game room to sit on a red couch.
Logan's face fell and the boys gave me a puzzled look.
"Did he get rejected already?" They asked and I sniggered.
"Has he even confessed his feelings yet? Well, it seems Logan wants to take things slow." I said.
"What!" They exclaimed.
"After all he put us through with Tristan Milan because of her? Hey Logan! You'd better not try that." Rhys snapped.
"Wait, are you being serious?" Dexter asked in disbelief.
"Guys," Logan finally said, sighing afterwards. "I intend to confess my feelings to her soon but you know how it is."
"Huh?" We all looked at him, unanimously puzzled.
"Amelia is a reporter..."
"So?" We all exchanged glances.
"I think she's more interested in her job more than she's at dating. Each time I managed to start a chat with her, she's always talking about work." He explained.
"Are you sure she's not pissed because of how you stared at my sister the first time you saw her? Remember Amelia was there." I asked and they all turned their eyes to me. "Well, I'm just saying." I shrugged.
"Given the situation, I'm sure Logan couldn't help it. But she didn't mention it to you, did she?" Dexter said, turning to look at Logan once more.
"No she didn't." He said. Rhys turned to the dart board and casually threw his arrow against it. It penetrated the center perfectly and he smiled.
"You never know what's her thought about dating you until you try." He said and Dexter nodded in agreement.
"I wonder what she'll say if she knows how many blows you've suffered from Tristan because of her." He said and we all laughed.
She's a reporter.
The thought occurred to me. I glanced up at Logan and smiled.
"Just be careful though." I added and they all gave me the 'what do you mean' kinda look.
Luckily enough, my phone rang in my pocket and I hastily picked it up before they'll come at me.
It was a call from my father's PA, Mr Finley Lee. It's weekend, why's he calling me?
"Yes, Mr Lee."
"Young Mr Grey, the Chairman wants you in his yacht now." He said and I stood up from my seat immediately.
"Okay, I'd be there." I replied and he hung up. I glanced back at my friends who were giving me curious stares now.
"My father wants me to meet up now. I'd see you guys later." I said to them before I hurriedly exited the games center.
IMOGEN'S POV
I watched quietly as Dad took a sip from his tea, then slowly dropped his teacup back on the small table between us. As he did, I sat still opposite him in his yacht as I've done since I walked in here.
Well, I decided to honor Dad's command since it was a first and also hear what he had to say.
Would he apologize? I've long wondered. Has he ever done that?
I've been here for about five minutes since I was escorted inside the comfy living area of the yacht. Still, Dad was yet to say another word other an acknowledging 'I see you're here' while he went on to sip tea a servant had just served us.
From where I sat, I really enjoyed the view of the vast ocean.
I was glad when I had arrived and found it's just a meeting with me and Dad alone and Scarlett or rather, 'Scar' was nowhere in sight.
"Imogen." He suddenly called, looking straight at me.
"Yes Dad." I said expectantly.
"You hate me don't you?" His words stunned the hell outta me. I stared at him with mouth agape and shock in my eyes.
I mean, what the heck!
Do I hate him? How would I hate him? He's my father! I only resented him momentarily because he wasn't giving me equal attention or love as he's done with Ashton or even the new girl. If I hate him would I have been bothered that he didn't show me fatherly love as I'd always wanted?
"How...how can I hate you Dad? I don't." I managed to say, looking elsewhere but his eyes.
"I know I've not been the best to you." He said and I raised my gaze to his, slowly. "For a while you must have resented me greatly. It wasn't your fault but I kept treating you that way because you look and act just like her." He paused.
By 'her', he must be referring to Mum. Who else if not her? I looked mostly like her than him and I also act just like mother.
What in the world is the story behind both of them? Why wouldn't they say anything to us?
"But I'm not mother, Dad." I said slowly and he nodded his head.
"I know that too. I'm sorry Imogen for being the most terrible Dad to you despite how you tried to get closer to me."
"I don't know the story between you and mother but I won't persuade you to tell if it's hard for you to do." I paused and glanced out the yacht at the ocean. "But It must have been something really terrible." I said with my gaze still outside.
"Imogen..."
"However, whatever it was, I just hope you can at least give me a chance in your life and not throw me away, especially now that you have another daughter." I said, looking back at him just as tears pooled in my eyes. "Dad, please don't let me pay for the sins of my mother. I'm not her!" I added as the tears rolled down my cheeks.
