What's the chairman hiding?

NARRATIVE
Few days later, some meetings had been held amongst the board of directors and top shareholders of JP's Enterprise, concerning the appointment of a CEO, a vice and a COO.
Votes were made and at the end, the votes were counted and the results announced.
Then a press release was made, notifying the public and announcing Scarlett Heidi Grey as the new Chief Executive Officer of JP's Enterprise and Ashton Grey as the Vice, as well as Palo Bryant as the Chief Operations Officer.
This was only possible due to the fact that majority of the votes had been on Scarlett's favor. Thanks to the Chairman Grey's efforts of course.
The news had come as a huge shock to Harriet, she almost couldn't believe it, until she had contacted her people and had affirmed the situation of things. She had no right in the board meeting so she couldn't be there. She could only be informed by her people; the ones she could control because of the secrets she knew of them.
Unfortunately for her, things didn't go as planned. The majority of the directors she had threatened with their secrets to reject the proposal of 'Scarlett Heidi Grey as CEO', had disappointed her.
How? She was yet to find out but she knew Jamie's hands were involved in this sudden twist in her plans.
Anger surged through her veins as she stared at the image of Scarlett in the tablet one of her staff had given her, wishing she could grab her by the hair and throw her out of the Grey's family for good.
Paige must be mocking her from the grave now. Harriet was sure of it.
"Jamie Grey!" She said through gritted teeth, while making up her mind to have a confrontation with him, as soon as possible. He couldn't continue to humiliate her like this!
  No, she wouldn't let him!
"Drive to the company." She instructed.

Chairman Kwan watched the news while sitting in his penthouse office and was pleased by this development. However he was slightly bothered by Palo's new position at the company.
He remembered the incident with Palo Bryant and Scarlett at the Vernice Bradley's shopping mall and he couldn't help but sigh. He hoped Palo Bryant doesn't become an obstacle to him getting the woman he wants in future.
"It's about time, Chairman Grey." Kyle soon smiled and returned the tablet to his secretary.
"Chairman, were you expecting things to turn out like this?" Kim Min Ha curiously asked.
"Of course, Min Ha." Kyle grinned. Staring at his wristwatch, he continued. "Arrange a meeting with the Chairman of JP's Enterprise. It is time to discuss business." He smiled and stood up from his seat.
"Yes, Chairman." Min Ha bowed slightly and exited the chairman's office.
Now alone with his thoughts, Kyle Kwan walked over to the large window floor in his penthouse office and stared at the busy city. However, his gaze was directed at the towering skyscraper of JP's Enterprise.
"Soon, everything would be righted as it should be." He said with a smile.
He soon placed a call to someone minutes later. "Ready the car, Sam. It's time for an important visitation." He said as soon as the call was received.
 ___
"Congratulations, Ms. Grey," Scarlett turned from speaking with Ashton to see Minister Bryant and his wife, Isabel Bryant, standing close to her in the board room.
"Ohh," she was initially startled. Afterall, Minister Bryant was a powerful figure in Birmingham City and also a major shareholder in JP's Enterprise. "Excuse my manners," she immediately corrected herself.
Standing before his parents, Scarlett could clearly see where Palo got his good looks from and it definitely wasn't from his mother.
Such silly thoughts, she chided herself mentally and continued talking to the minister. "I am really grateful for your support and believe in my abilities to run the company, Sir Bryant." She said and the minister smiled.
Jamie Grey got a really bright and beautiful daughter that reminded him so much of the late Paige Ellie Grey. Jordan Bryant thought within him.
"It is a pleasure, Scarlett." He said and extended his hand which Scarlett received warmly. "We would be seeing each other more often soon, your father might have informed you." He said with a smirk, his words having a hidden meaning.
"Uh..oh, really?" Scarlett was confused by this and couldn't quite understand what he meant. But she smiled regardless and said. "It would be a pleasure, to meet and learn from a great man like you, Sir Bryant."
Jordan Bryant chuckled at her innocence. He had hinted this on purpose and he wasn't surprised when Scarlett didn't understand. Jamie was obviously hiding this truth from his eldest daughter.
Maybe he needed to help him unravel it... The idea amused him and he couldn't help but wonder how dramatic Scarlett's reaction would be when she finds out...
Just then, his gaze met Jamie Grey's and he smirked even more.
Jamie had hurriedly joined them on seeing Scarlett was alone with the Bryants couple. He could only hope Jordan hadn't said anything to his daughter yet.
Judging by the confused look Scarlett had on, Jamie Grey was worried already and so, he quickly found a way to excuse his daughter from their midst.
"Jordan, I would see you around. I apologize for interrupting your chitchat, however, Heidi has to come with me now. There's still some issues to be sorted." Chairman Grey hurriedly said, as his hand immediately held onto to Scarlett's and he hurriedly led her out of the board room.
Jordan Bryant watched this and couldn't help but scoff.
"I wonder how long he is going to keep the truth away from her." His wife, Isabel Bryant, whispered beside him. She had been silent all through the conversation with Scarlett as she had been observing her and wondering if she was truly worthy enough.
Her son had chosen this woman. So what could she do about that as his mother, other than to accept it? Especially as this was Palo's first in truly desiring a woman.
She trailed her husband's gaze and found it fixed on their son this time. Palo was chatting across the board room with some people.
"We would find out soon, I suppose." Jordan Bryant said.
And very soon at that. He smirked again.
 ___
Harriet stomped towards to the board room to find Jamie Grey. She knew the meeting was over and she needed to let out her grievances to his hearing whether he wanted to listen to her or not.
She stopped abruptly on her track at the sight of the chairman and his daughter, hurrying out of the board room, hand in hand. Jamie Grey's expression was clouded and they seemed to be talking in hush tones. Harriet immediately hid by a corner and listened.
"Dad, is everything okay?" Scarlett was asking.
  "Uh-y-ess...Yes. Of course." He stuttered.
Jamie is flustered? Harriet wondered what could have happened.
"Are you sure? Is it because of the minister? I thought he's one of your people?" Scarlett had continued.
Harriet risked taking a peep at them just in time to see Jamie Grey pushed a hand through his hair and sighed.
"Did he say anything unusual to you?" Jamie asked Scarlett.
Scarlett shook her head in the negative. "He only said we would be seeing each other often and assumed that you must have told me about it."
Harriet watched the chairman let out a sigh once again and she wondered what could have happened to make him this bothered? Afterall, his precious daughter just became the CEO just as he had always wanted. He obviously would not be in such a sour mood on a normal circumstances.
"Alright, Heidi. For now, you must stay away from the minister and his wife. Okay? I would tell you all about this when the time is right." Jamie said and Scarlett nodded in obedience.
"Alright, Dad. I would do as you have said."
Harriet watched him gently patted Scarlett's hair before they both walked down the hallway, heading towards the elevator.
  'The Minister?' Harriet mused.
'Jamie Grey just what are you hiding?' She wondered.
Whatever it was seemed to be serious and clearly, the chairman doesn't want Scarlett finding out about it.
Why? It must be something he wasn't proud of. Something that's clearly going to affect his precious little daughter.
"Hmmm," Harriet paused for a moment and a thought soon occured to her.
How brilliant would it be if she gets to find out whatever this was and tell Scarlett about it? How amazing would it be to watch the lovely pair of father and daughter, have a fall out?
"It is my turn now, Jamie Grey." She suddenly smirked, fixing her gaze on their retreating figures. "And I promise to make the best of it."
