Alexander was pacing back and forth and Harvin was sitting on the couch following him. “So… what should we do now?” “I’ve called Hanna. She’ll be here later.” Alexander replied. It’s been a week since they found out Gunther was taken. Gunther was the only one who knows where the heart is. But now HE’s got him. ‘Could it be that HE knew about Chantria?’ he thought. No. It couldn’t be. Gunther tells no one about him having an enchantress under him. Because if he did, it could make an uproar in the underground society. Having an enchantress as part of your collection would be very extraordinary. A knock was heard in the room. Harvin stood up and opened the door. Standing outside with a tray is Chantria, so he let her in. It must be the coffee he requested. He thanked her and a woman arrived at the house and went directly to his study. She entered the room and the first one she saw is Chantria. “Wow… you are beautiful.” She said. Alexander excused Chantria and closed the door. He walked to his desk and took a sip of his coffee. “Who was that?” Hanna asked looking at the two men. “His lover,” Harvin replied. She looked at him with a questioning look. “Lover? I didn’t know you had one. But I thought you are engaged!” The sound of broken glass was heard from the hallway. He stood up and went out of the room. He saw Chantria picking up the broken vase. “I… I’m sorry it slipped from my hand.” She said while tears started flowing in her cheeks. He took her hand and saw that it was bleeding. “Stop. You’ll hurt yourself more. It’s fine. We could just replace the vase.” He said and picked her up gently. “Harvin. Take care of this.” Harvin nodded and started picking up the bigger block of glass. He could hear from his back that Hanna asked if it was her fault. He went upstairs to his room and let her sit on the couch. Then he went to his drawers to look for a first aid kit. When he found it, he sat next to her and held out her hand. There was silence in the room while he was treating her. She looked around the room and everything was clean and organized. It was her first time in his room ever since she got there. The wound was deep but not deep enough to need a stitch from a doctor. They sat like that until he finished with her, cleaning off her blood and dressing the wound with the bandages he had gotten from his kit. She took her hands away and looked down, feeling the softness of his fingers. They were warm despite being cold from the bandages on his hands. “Thank you,” she said not looking at him. She felt him lean forward, almost as if he were about to say something. She could feel his breath on her cheek as he moved closer, she didn’t realize how close he was before she felt his hands on her face. He wiped her tears. “I’m sorry.” She said. He cupped her face to look at him. “It’s fine. You don’t have to worry about it.” He looked so gentle making her forget about what she heard. She took a deep breath and asked him. “Is it true?” he looked at her with a questioning look. “Are you engaged?” she added. He withdraw his hand and sat straight not facing her. “Yes.” He answered while clenching his teeth. She was silent and a few minutes later, she stood up and headed to the door. He followed her and held her wrist to stop her. “I’m not marrying her. I’m planning to break off the engagement.” “Why are you telling me this?” “Because of you.” he was quiet, thinking of a word to say next. “If this is because of our deal-” “No. This is not about the deal!” “I don’t understand.” She said with teary eyes. “Then I’ll make you understand.” He said in a soft voice and pulled her closer to him until their face were just inches apart. He caressed her cheek lovingly before giving a sweet, but a deep kiss on her lips. After they broke apart, she smiled at him while cupping his face, pulling him for another kiss. He kissed back letting go of her hand and wrapped both arms around her waist as her hands traveled from his face to his neck and kissed again. They continued kissing until he broke the kiss once more. “You want me to be honest with you?” he whispered against her soft lips. She nodded her head and he continued. “I lo-” he was cut off by the loud knock on the door. He groaned and pushed her away gently, walking out to see who was outside. He glared at Harvin. “Did I interrupt you?” “Just what is it, Harvin.” “She is coming back to the country,” Harvin said softly not wanting Chantria to hear him. “It’s good then. So I could finally break off this engagement.” “What about the agreement.” “Let’s continue our talk in my office.” He went back inside and closed the door. He face her and kissed her cheek. “You can rest here. I’ll just go and have a conversation with Gunther. Let’s continue later.” She nodded and he walked away. “When will she be back?” he started as soon as he arrived. “Next month. What about your agreement with her clan?” “Didn’t you remember I inherited Kendrick’s properties?” “Oh! Yeah, I guess… there’s nothing to worry about. And ah… her secretary said to call her back.” Harvin said sitting comfortably on the couch. He sighed and nodded. He took out his phone and started dialing. Seconds later, a woman answered the call with a loud voice. ‘Hello, baby! I’m glad you called.’ She said making Harvin flinch at what he heard. “You asked me to.” He replied in a flat voice. ‘Oh! Did I? Anyway… I’ll be back there next month. Wait for me, okay? I have so many things to discuss with you.’ “Me too. I have something to tell you.” she shrieked in excitement and he pulled away from the phone for a moment. ‘I can’t wait to hear that. Bye baby!’ He ended the call and hold his laugh because of Harvin’s reaction. “I can’t stand that woman. She makes me want to puke. I don’t know how you managed to endure her.” Harvin said with a cringed face. He didn’t reply and just smirked at him. “It must have run from the blood. She is just the same with Gunther.” Harvin added. ***** Gunther’s wounds have already healed. He woke up and found himself in an empty room tied up in a chair. His mouth was covered as well making him unable to talk. Later on, a man entered and untied the cloth covering his mouth. “What do you want from me? I’ve already done what you asked.” He said and the man started laughing. “You still possess something important.” The man said. “I don’t know what you are talking about.” “The heart. I know you have it.” the man said this time his voice got darker. Gunther felt chills but kept his composure. “What about it?” he replied. “You may not know it but I already have the item. Now I want you to do something for me.” the man said and moved closer and whispered to his ear. “Okay. Only if you let me go.” Gunther replied with a smirk.
