Chapter 27

3rd Person Pov
The couple entered a fancy restaurant where the lights were all turned on brightly, allowing them to see everything around them. Luan looked at his wife, who appeared anxious, as if she had never met his parents.
Luan chuckled and kissed Solstice on the head to help her relax. He took her little hand in his and kissed it.
“Ready? " After noticing her anxiousness, he questioned her. He wanted to make sure she was okay and that she could unwind before they went to their family dinner.
"A little?" She walked sideways to her husband, taking small steps. When she was nervous, she wanted to be near to him.
He placed his arm around her from behind, his palm resting against her waist. They went together to a private room with tables that they had reserved for tonight's dinner.
Luan placed a hand on the sliding door, which was made of wood, before sliding it open. When he opened the door, it revealed both of their parents, each in their own chair.
"Luan, my son," the voice of Luan's mother echoed around the room. She stood up and went over to Luan, giving him a warm embrace.
Solstice turned to face his husband, giggling as she observed his reaction. His face flushed with embarrassment as he realized his mother was treating him like a baby.
Luan was the only baby, and his mother treated him like a baby, even though he is now an adult with a wife.
Luan's mother broke the hug and hugged Solstice. Solstice hugged her back, feeling the warmth that comes with having a mother.
"Okay, mom, stop hugging now, it's my wife," Luan said, attempting to pull Solstice away from his mother, but this only made his mother hold Solstice even tighter.
As his mother's hand was being held by his wife, Luan's brows furrowed. He struggled to remove the hand for a few seconds until succeeding, at which point he yanked Solstice away from his mother.
As they all seated themselves, his mother simply laughed. The dinner was already prepared and placed out on the table.
"I heard what happened before. I am deeply sorry for your loss and for being unable to be with the two of you. " While unwrapping the towel with the utensils inside and setting the towel on her lap to avoid getting it filthy, Luan's mother added, "as much as we wanted to be there, we can't because we want you two to get closer to each other."
“It's fine aunty... “
“Mom, call me mom,” Luan's mother interrupted Solstice.
"Mom, if I ever become a mother again, could you teach me how to be the best mother for my child?"Solstice pleaded.

“Of course, I think you'll be the best mother that a child could have,” Luan's mother said, trying to lighten her mood a bit because she felt it got heavier as he brought up the topic about Solstice losing her child
Feeling the sadness of his wife, Luan took her hand into his, kissing her hand before asking her, “ are you okay? “

Solstice closed her eyes to force her tears to stop falling, and she nodded, muttering, “ yes, I'm okay, don't worry. “
“ Tell me if you feel something, okay? “Luan said, pulling her close to him.
“ I will, “ Solstice assured him.
“Shall we eat now? “ Solstice's father said, referring to the hot food in front of them. He was concerned that the food might get cold before they could eat it.

“Yes, right, we should eat, let's pray first, “ Luan's father added.

They all held each other's hand as they were in circle form, the prayer was led by Luan's father. After they all finished praying, they all started to dig in to their foods.

“Thank you for the food,” they all simultaneously said after the prayer.
“I'm glad that you're treating my daughter right now,” Solstice's father said straight forward making everyone went silent for a moment.
“I'm also glad to know that I can still treat her right before I can loss her, “Luan respond. “ I'm also glad that you trusted me to go chase your daughter that day we both lost our child. I guess our first child that was unborn was the way to make us okay. “
“This time, I promise to always treat your daughter the treatment she deserves from her husband,” Luan continued.

Sol's father said with a tint of anger, "If you do something to my daughter that can hurt her, I won't hesitate to force you two to file an annulment and end your relationship."
After the exchange between Solstice's father and Luan, everyone went silent and just continued finishing their food. This dinner is where everyone lets out all their thoughts about the relationship between Luan and Solstice.

They said that after this dinner and after they all said what they had to say, everything would get better.
