Nana Felly

Chapter 50: Nana Felly
Fera’s POv
The annoying beep from her side kept her awake, she turned to the door when she heard it crack open. A nurse got in with her casual smile to check up on her. She shifted her gaze to the wall and let her do anything she want.
The fear in her aura was beyond evident so she decide not to look at her.
“Good evening, Miss Fera. How are you feeling?” She manage to maintain a calm voice but Fera didn’t bother answering.
“I heard you don’t want to welcome any visitor,” she added.
“So?”
“I just thought that it might help you feel better if you could talk to someone special to your heart, their care would make you feel better.” She looked at her and stared at her fine small face. Her pinkish thin lips and beautiful eyes with perfect soft lashes. Her uniform fits well, she a typical neat girl, she was petite with average height.
“Their care is a burden to me.” The shock on her face made her want to roll her eyes, ‘why does she have to look like an angel even in such a reaction. She smiled and even chuckled which made Fera cringe her forehead in confusion.
“You know what, Miss Fera, I adore you for being such a strong girl. At your age and if I’d be in your situation, I might have got to the mental hospital.” Her confusion rose and stared at her more.
“As if you know what I have been through.”
“Yeah, I don’t know the whole story but I know you are detained accused of a crime that you didn’t commit. Judge by everyone and talk sh*t about you. But you are here, standing still and catching all those dirty they have thrown to you.” She placed her hand on her head and pat it like she was a little girl praised by her older sister.
“You’re wrong, I deserve all of this. I did kill him.” Her palm slides down to her cheek and she felt her thumb massage it.
“The guy earlier and the woman was willing to help you. They are the ones who knew you better than those who believe it. Judging by their eagerness to help and care, they knew in their heart that you didn’t, even if you kept on claiming it. And the way you claim it, you seemed desperate to cover something, what is it to be worth sacrificing your freedom?” Her angel-like voice was convincing and pleasing but Fera slap her hand away.
“You talk too much.”
“I believe you, you deserve what is happening in your life right now. Because we choose for ourselves, it’s your choice to be here, it’s your choice to suffer for something I could never understand. I hope one day, you’ll choose for your happiness.” Her gaze fell on her nameplate. ‘Nurse Even’
“You don’t know a thing, Miss Even. I don’t need your opinion.” She glared at her but the nurse smiled at her.
“You are still young, emotion is taking over you. Don’t be so hard on yourself.”
“Get out! I’m done with your useless words.” She nodded and stepped back.
“Good night, Miss Fera.”
“Nothing is good anymore, you ruined it,” she carelessly spat but didn’t affect the nurse.
Her annoyance with those people who talk like saints and act like they know anything had ruined her mood. ‘She talks like she knew everything, she’ll never understand how it feels. Never.’
They had turned the lights off and she was left alone with the annoying beep of her heart monitor. As if she was dying, she did hit her pulse but they manage to reconnect it and it was fine now.
She closed her eyes even though her thoughts had no plans of letting her rest and sleep. She listened to those sounds around her, it was calm and fine. ‘At least it is peaceful here,’ she thought.
Then she heard the soft blow of the air which made her open her eyes. ‘Who opened the window?’ she looked at it, it was open now and her curtain was swaying since the air could freely get in.
“Fera, honey.” She instantly turned to her side and saw her nanny.
“Nana Felly, what are you doing here?” She whispered and glanced at the CCTV camera but it was covered with white paper already.
“Are you okay? I heard you slice your wrist.” She checked it and hug her after checking she was well. “I was so worried but I couldn’t go near you.”
“Why not?”
“We had been trying to save the company and other business of your father. His enemies who had been silent before suddenly showed up. I don’t know if I could tell you more but Fred told me you should focus on how to get out of this mess. We’ll do our best to patch things in that matter for now.” Her embrace with her nanny tightens up.
“Let them, let them take over.”
Nanny Felly faced her and held her face.
“What are you talking about?”
“Nothing, I missed you.”
“I missed you more, how are you doing? Did Lora have things arranged for you to get out? What are your plans? Will you be paying the jury, and hiring a witness? Do you need a great IT to create realistic footage to patch up things?”
“We’re on it, leave it to them. Do they still sentence the death penalty?”
“Holy crap, I don’t know, I hope not. I won’t be taking long, I just drop by to check up on you.” She nodded and smile at the old lady. She was still strong and sharp despite her age. Her white hair couldn’t define her strength.
“Okay, thank you for dropping by,” she said and gave her another hug.
“Take care of yourself, okay? Everything will be alright.” Her nanny gave her a kiss on her forehead and walked to the window. She watched her jump out of the window.
“Fuentes will fall, and I won’t be waiting for it.”
The next morning she was awakened early, she’d be back in her cell. In the vehicle, she was sitting fine and peaceful while the cops were talking about something she didn’t know. Until one cellphone rang and it was answered. To her surprise, the police extended the phone to her. She took it in both hands since she was handcuffed even with a bandage.
She placed the cellphone to her ears and waited for it to talk.
“She’s dead.” A familiar man’s voice spoke and her brows collide.
“Excuse me?”
“Nana Felly is dead.”
