Another Group

Chapter 52: Another Group
Nick’s POV
He instantly stood up and ran to the door. It was locked but Ben got a hair pin and he easily opened it. They didn’t know where to run but they traced the only hallway and found the stair down. The exchange of bullets didn’t stop so they took the opportunity to escape.
He jump up back when he saw someone coming and pointing his gun at him. They ran back and found a window. Ben checked it but they were on the third floor of that abandoned building.
“Sh*t!”
They stood against the wall while facing the man with a gun. They both raised their hand but in just a snap a small pocket knife stuck on his forehead exactly in the middle.
His eyes widen and looked at Ben.
“Do I have a choice?” Ben asked him so he didn’t respond. It was a life and death situation and Ben chose to kill than get killed. Nick was in shock so Ben pulled him to run, he pick the gun and got some bullets.
“I should have done this alone,” he heard Ben whisper and pulled him to run down. He saw someone coming and Ben put a silencer and shoot him. He didn’t waste time and ran down.
He got his gun and some bullets and handed them to Nick. “Let’s just say we are in your dream and we have to fight for our lives.”
“That’s insane!” He couldn’t still imagine that Ben took two lives just now.
“What do you want me to do, let you die? Nikolas will kill me.” And he slaps his head. “Wake up, we don’t have time to think about what’s right or wrong. The main goal is to get out alive and complete.”
He accepted the gun and they both ran down, they slowly walked to the first floor and instantly ran back. They waited for the three armed men to reach the second floor before shooting them. One escaped and so they immediately followed him.
Once they reached the ground floor they chose to run to the back door and hide for a moment. They hide in a room and Ben checked the window. There was a pool down there. It was an unfinished mansion but abandoned now.
He saw cars at the main door and he was fifty percent sure it was safe to get out. He broke the window but someone was trying to open the door.
“Hurry up!” He whispered to Ben. Once he broke it he let Nick go first.
“Don’t move.” He heard someone speak from his left and felt something touch his head. He raised his hands and dropped his gun. While Ben was captured too.
Another armed group came and tried to save them. They made them run to the car and got in. They head out and he saw that they tried to follow them but failed.
‘Great,’ he commented in his head. As he smelled something strange, his sight spun and darkness embrace him.
***
“It was him, he betray the heiress of Fuentes.” Those words woke him up. ‘Are they one of her protectors?’ He couldn’t help to ask.
“Woke him up.” He opened his eyes and they widen as he saw Ben hanging on the wall, full-blooded and unmoved. His both hands were chained to the wall and he was facing down.
“Ben,” he whispered and saw a man smiling at him. His hands were behind him and slowly walked toward him. His heavy stomach must slow him down, he looked like a pregnant woman on her due date.
“Mr. Hernandez, the great Mr, Hernadez who successfully trapped the Fuentes.” He clapped his hands wearing his impressed smile. “This young man must be a prodigal and manage to stand next to a Fuentes and even stabbed her behind her back. I have been wishing to do that, I am envious now.”
“Fuentes must lose a leg now that their princess is in jail, this is the perfect timing to step in.” A skinny one stepped in with his annoying grin. He was looking at Nick and his yellowish teeth were distracting.
“Set that aside, for now, Ernan. So boy, how does she taste?”
“Mmm!” That’s when he realized his mouth was taped and his hands and leg were tightly tied.
“HAHAHAHA! I have been planning to bring her down and this man easily did it. He must be someone special.” Then he smiled evilly. “What should we do to him?”
“Kill him in front of her.” The skinny spoke.

“Not yet, remove the tape.” The fat man ordered.
“How did you know that she killed her father?” Nick didn’t answer him and stayed calm while glancing at Ben. “She must be trained when she was young, tell me, boy!”
“She’s innocent!”
“Liar! You yourself gathered the evidence. What is she good at, guns, close combat?” He persisted. Nick shook his head in fury.
“Whoever works behind you? They are doing what is right, those Fuentes must fall. She’s as evil as her father who she killed too. I never thought Fuentes a capable of killing their family.”
“She killed no one! She was set up!”
The fat’s face turned into confusion after a while he slowly stretched his lips into a smile. “Interesting, who would set her up? Whatever is going on, it must be exciting to watch. What else do you know? Tell us more. Who do you work for? I wish I could watch her cry. I will pay her a visit.”
“She tried to kill herself.”
“I already know that, tell me something I don’t know? Who killed her father if it wasn’t her? I wish it was me.”
“We don’t know.” A strong smash on his leg came which made him winced in pain.
“Who are those who work for her? Does she have a connection with the Arraneta?”
“I don’t know.” Another smash came. “AHH!”
“He’s useless as I what I can see. Boy, if you don’t know how to straighten your tongue and speak up. You won’t be able to use that again.” He threatened him but he was only looking at them in fury.
“I am telling the truth! I don’t know almost everything about what was going on!” The man called Ernan slapped him hard that he could feel his palm on his face until now, he felt it burning and sore.
“Don’t raise your voice, young man.” He strongly whispered in his ears.
“You scare no one, skeleton!” And gunshot came.
