Chapter 56: Her Personal Butler “Miss Fuentes,” he bow his head down and Fera signaled her to sit down. “Good to see you, Miss Fuentes. I apologize I took long to show up.” He sat next to her on a bench watching the other inmate playing basketball. It wasn’t safe to talk in that place but they had no other choice. “How’s everything, Baldo?” During her stay in that jail, she managed to calm her system up. She had made up her mind and was ready to face her problem. “Everything is honestly not fine after the news about you being in jail blew up. Your father’s enemy has been meddling in the transactions local and international. They are trying to ruin you completely, they saw this as a vulnerable situation for you and the best time to move. Fred had been trying to patch up things out of the country. Lora’s sudden…” he took a long breath and glanced at Fera before going on. “ Lora is a huge loss so is Felicidad.” She nodded, she was crossing her arm and trying to think straight. “The empire lost its queens, we are severely wounded.” He added, that in her existence, Baldo mistook his judgments, he was the best adviser the Fuentes have. “I need to get out of here.” “We were only waiting for your words, but Lora could have made this faster than I, you know my field.” She bit her inner cheek, Lora was a great loss to the Fuentes. “Tell her to do it. I need to get out of here, soon as possible.” Baldo nodded and stared at Fera. “What else do you need to say?” “I was thinking if you may have a little information to help yourself get out of here.” He was been a straight forward than ever and she didn’t expect it. “I know you can do it, I don’t need it to be legal.” “I know you know something. You are hiding the information that could get you out of here.” “I don’t.” “I know you,” “Then you must know that I can’t tell you.” She stared at him and he knew his place. He bow his head, he would never defy a Fuentes. “Well noted.” “You may go.” The conversation had to end there. He stood up and he was about to live the “Benjamin Leonardo will be taking your case.” He said before he walked. “What? No! He’s a newbie. He can’t play this dirty yet. I am not ruining his future at this early of his career.” She stood which made him stop. “Lora is working with them.” “Them?” *** She was walking to the comfort room when she realized everyone was avoiding her shamelessly. When she got in, they all went out and she was left alone. She didn’t hear any fuss about her. They never talked about her visibly. “Fair!” Someone shouted her name when she got out of the comfort room. It was Gail in her loose shirt and loose sweat pants with unique designed shoes. Her emo makeup made her look like an innocent-like gangsta. Her badass eyeliner was sharp as her stares. “You here again,” she responded. “There you are, I am searching for you all over the whole place.” And she clung her arm in her arm. “I gotta show you something.” And she pulled to her cell. She took a piece of paper. It was folded into the smallest fold it could do and unfolded in front of her. “I got this just this morning.” “Amanda Laurel, second-degree cousin of Ferdinand Fuentes filed a case against the-” “Stop.” They sat down and lean on the wall. “I know, I understand you.” She took out a pack of cigars again and her a stick which she immediately snatched. “Sometimes the popular positive quotes such ‘everything will be alright in gods grace, everything happens for a reason, you’ll make it just pray, and things are supposed to happen to make you stronger just didn’t make sense. For us who never see hope as everyone sees it, it’s disgusting. For us who fight for our own battle inside, all of their words were useless. Because we know, they can never understand. They have never been in our shoes, no one will ever understand you, your friend, family, even a lover. But you can to yourself. Our mind isn’t our ally sometimes, but never lose yourself by barging up that they will never understand but deep inside you hope they will. Make up your mind, decide on your own and live with your choice. Life is a bitch never forget that you are bitchier.” Fera nodded and looked at her. She smile and Gail didn’t fail her and returned it. She patted Fera’s head and stood up. “Listen to me, ‘cause I’m the bitchiest.” She knew that at some part she was right. It was pleasing to see the sincerity in her eyes. But the last eyes that looked at her with sincerity betrayed her. She finished the stick but her head was filled with her memories of him. “Love sucks.” She whispered and dropped her back on the floor. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. ‘I have been losing track, I miss something I don’t know.’ She looked at her hand, her pen, her paintbrush, and her doorknob. ‘I miss the feeling of touching them.’ “When will this pain let me go? I miss myself,” She remembers what Gail said earlier. ‘They will never understand, never.’ The feeling of waking up with a heavy heart. Looking around with something was hurting her feelings but doesn’t hurt literally when she wanted to cry sometime but she doesn’t know why so she couldn’t. When you are tired but you did nothing when you felt done yet you gotta move. The feeling was killing her but she gotta survive. “My mind indeed isn’t an ally.” “I’m tired but I need to survive.” She looked at the piece of newspaper Gail brought and stared at the name, Amanda Laurel. A Fake relative, really? Would go this far as to break me into pieces emotionally?
