Chapter 65: Person Behind the Mask Lora’s POV “Are you happy now, Fred?” She shouted making the man stop walking but he continued walking for a second. “I can’t believe you are this manipulative, Fred. Really? Your own cousin!” But he was still walking straight to his car so she ran to him. He opened the door of his car but she pushed it back to close. “Do you really want to be on my way?” His warning voice was never dangerous as this. She secretly gulp and moved away from his car. “I never imagine you are this evil, Fred. You are EVIL.” He turned to her which made her step back. “We not just me, Lora. You know that.” “I may do evil things but I never wronged or harm innocent as Fera.” Then slammed the door of his car and took a step toward Lora. “Fera isn’t innocent, watch her run her own kingdom and everyone will bow down even I. Letting her fall in love with the peace of normal life and what? Leave everything her father’s enemy to me? I have my own enemy, Lora, and I need her help. I am not fighting in this battle alone! Now don’t waste my time and learn to stick your nose out of my business, I am not your boss for you to care about.” He harshly turned his pivot and got into his car. She watched him drive his way out and she start walking back to the courtroom. She cringed her forehead when she heard an ambulance, everything went too fast and she saw Fera on a stretcher carried to the ambulance unconscious. She needed a break too so she drove to her secret apartment. She made a coffee. “I was correct all along.” She realized everything was not. He was of those who have access to her apartment. It was only Nick, Fred and mama Tes. It was him who gave the gun to Fera, the gun that Nick found in her drawer. He has full access to Fuentes Mansion, he could let Nick sneak in and gather the footage. He was a hacker too that could send Nick suspicious information to lure him and search for the truth. He had full knowledge about Fera, how would she react and how would she decide. He was watching them all along, it was also him who sent the video to Ben. She rolled her eyes how stupid she was not to realize it. He was suspicious all along but she didn’t bother since he was her cousin. Maybe blood was thicker than water anymore. It was too late for her to realize. She took her cellphone and opened her gallery. She click their picture, and a tear fell on the screen. “I’m sorry if I only forced you to stop.” She kissed her screen and deleted the pictures, all of the pictures. The pain of reality was indeed painful. He killed her half-sister and killed himself. “I still love you.” She said and deleted the last picture of them. “I will still take care of your daughter as promised.” He was a good man, she knew him as a great man. Great sense of justice but learn the way of his enemy, he only played how they do it. He would win legally but he used illegal ways to counterpart his enemies. He was the one who listened to her rants in life and taught her how to be strong. She saw how principled a man he was but got involved in drugs. Drugs ruin him and his family. He knew how to produce strong employees, he created a great team, and they only needed Fera to be back on her feet to lead the team. No matter how bad Fred did, it was true that Fuentes are falling and he need Fera to stop those heartless greedy enemies they have. “It was Frederick Fuentes all along, he broke her to break her kindness and awaken the demon. He also broke the chain of the past that had been holding her still from moving forward.” “The worst bishop that ever existed.” She finished her coffee and went up. She sat in her chair and faced her computer. Social media was shaking about the vindicated daughter. She didn’t know that they had filmed all her reaction. She closed her eyes, she didn’t want to see her face that wrecked anymore. An email popped in her notification, it was Nick. ‘Send this to Fera,’ the quote he had written. She knew it was a farewell letter. She didn’t know they’d fly that quick. She numerous attempts to hack her system, they must be threatened by now. She typed and hacked the footage of the hospital she was in, she was still asleep. “Back to real work, I guess. Sleep and rest, for now, Queen, well hunt every soul that wronged your name when you're ready.” She stood up when she remembered her stuff in Ben’s house. She changed her clothes and drive to his house. He saw him looking at his realistic village powered by electricity and moving like a real city with crazy lights. “Congratulation!” She greeted him with a faked smile and cheer. “Thank you?” He pulled a light and put it back. But he didn’t look happy. How would anyway? “I just dropped for my stuff.” And she went to the room. She pack all her things and to her surprise, Ben was standing right in front of the door. “Need anything?” She asked but Ben seemed nervous. “You’re leaving.” She confusedly looked at the things she was carrying. “I am, isn’t that obvious?” “It is, but when will I see you again?” His question made her realize what was up. “You’re kidding, right?” “No, will I at least get your number?” He handed her his phone making her drop her jaw. “I have made things clear, Ben. I am not into this kinda shit. You know what, I don’t want to reject you but I should. I am not giving you false hope by giving you my number.” She said and step to the side and attempted to pass him. But he stepped in front of her. “I am not kidding nor caring about what you are into. You are not going out of my place without typing your personal number and I am pursuing you, whether you like it or not.”
