Chapter Forty-two

Eventually, the corpse is completely covered. Kesrick turned to leave and began to spell his way back to the palace of Antipatris. He didn't know how long it would take for the sorrow to stop coming into his life. He's already a man now, and perhaps the whole story of his life may end soon, but he never found happiness except in Lyra.
"If I'm lucky, I'll speak to the devil and she shall appear." He thought of seeing the beautiful woman ahead.
Lyra is wearing a black shirt and jeans. Her appearance never fades away. She looks like her old version, but not as the princess of weirdness anymore. Her long, curly white hair swings backwards as she goes against the wind.
Kesrick knew that Lyra had not noticed him, because she was busy picking sticks from the ground of withered leaves. It came to his mind to surprise the woman; thus, he slowly went near to her without making any sounds.
"Lyra!" Kesrick exclaimed.
The woman, like a scalded cat, jumped up in surprise. She accidentally threw the sticks in Kesrick's face. Fortunately, the man isn't in the mood to be mad for an obvious reason.
"Kebab! King Kesrick!" Lyra barked. She lowered her head and was ashamed of what she had done to the new king. "I'm sorry, your majesty, I did not mean to—"
"No-no-no, you don't need to be sorry. Actually, it was my mistake that I surprised you. So, what are you doing here in the forbidden jungle?" Kesrick asked.
"Your majesty, I'm just picking sticks. I didn't mean to step into this forbidden jungle."
"No, that's not what I mean—this jungle is not more forbidden, because everything is new. But you—my feelings for you never change, even if you already—"
The woman sensed the destination of their conversation; therefore, she said an excuse, "I'm sorry your majesty, but I need to go now."
"Wait!! I'm your majesty right now, so you must respect me, because I'm not letting you go. Stay here with me first, if you don't want to be imprisoned," Kesrick warned.
Hearing those words, Lyra was surprised. She's disappointed that Kesrick really changed, that he will just use his power to make others follow what he wants them to do. She hesitated, but the man grabbed her hands and attempted to kiss her lips.
"Hey!" someone exclaimed. "What are you doing to her?"
Kesrick looked back and he saw a handsome man in ordinary clothes. It was a bolt from the blue for Kesrick when he found out that Ylarry's social status had changed. He's not the boy who was respected by other people anymore, but a man who's living peacefully in Phrygia.
"Ylarry! It's difficult for me to recognize you. But why are you asking me that? Don't you have eyes to see what I am doing to your beloved woman?" Kesrick chuckled.
"No—I have eyes, but I never saw you respecting the people in your kingdom. If you're really deserving of that crown, then show it to us!" Ylarry exclaimed.
"Whoa... You're so brave, well, I have freedom to do what I want to do, so you must follow what I'll want you to do."
"Did you give us freedom in what you're doing? Where's the freedom? You don't deserve freedom as long as you don't give your people freedom!" Ylarry exclaimed.
"My love, please fight him no more. He's just envious that we're living peacefully on our land, and he's never experienced happiness like us," Lyra interrupted.
Kesrick became angry upon hearing Lyra's words. He attempted to use bloody magic to hurt her when someone suddenly appeared between them.
"Oh Kesrick, you're a man now, so forget that childish thing, and why did you attempt to hurt a poor woman who's not doing anything wrong to you?" Thoreau asked.
Kesrick felt ashamed of his cousin's words. He realized that he would look like a brat because of what he was doing. But he realized one more important thing: that if he could hurt Lyra, it would turn out that he didn't love her anymore. He flipped his fingers and suddenly disappeared.
"Are you just okay?" Hada asked Lyra.
"That shameful man will never give us peace as long as he sees us living peacefully here," Thoreau said.
"You're right, Thoreau, but what else can we do if there's no more peaceful place to live except in the kingdom of Antipatris?" Lyra asked.
"If I only had my power, I could bring you to the Castillo de Saat. It was all my mistake," Ylarry blamed himself.
"Yeah, it was all your fault, and what kind of... intrusion have you made into our lives?" Thoreau sighed.
"Can you just stop adding this? We're in a problem now, and blaming has no use; for sure, Kesrick will seek us to take revenge for his own sorrow," Hada said.
"What kind of... I'm giving up now. I better stay away from you guys, because I want a peaceful life." Thoreau turned to leave and began walking.
"Hey! Where are you going?" Hada followed him.
Ylarry and Lyra didn't mind them. What they only know is that they really loved each other, and trouble can't separate them; they must find a way to be friends with trouble, so that it will give them peace.
"My love, let's go back now." Ylarry extended a hand to Lyra, which she immediately accepted and stood up. "Don't be so worried, because even though our friends will leave us, I will be there for you, forever."
Inside the palace of Antipatris, the new king is sitting on the golden throne. The crown never left his head, no matter where he went. He wants the Antipatrisians to know their king, even though he doesn't have a queen.
Soliloquized: "If you thought that you could live there peacefully, then you'll be disappointed, because I will never give you peace whatever it takes!"
The king stood up on the marble estrade and ordered his maidservant to give him a golden paper and ink-brush. He went to the golden table and sat down on the pew beside it before the maidservant went back with a golden paper and the brush, as Kesrick ordered her. The king began writing something on the golden paper.
It says, "I, King Kesrick, don't give permission to the couple named Ylarry and Lyra to live in the land of Phrygia because they have broken the law of Antipatris, written in the book of Ley, page 2022, section 2516, that an Incino must not fall in love with Cinos."
The new king put the brush on the table and rolled the golden paper. He ordered the maidservant to call his battlers because they would be going somewhere. The king went into his bedroom to retrieve his bloody cloak. He never expected to wear it again, because he was thinking that his life would not be sorrowful again.
When the king went out of the palace of Antipatris, he was no longer wearing his crown, and his scepter wasn't in hand, but a sharp sword, which he was using. He saw his twenty well-trained battlers, who were wearing armor and bowing their heads when they saw him.
"Let's go!" Kesrick exclaimed (to his battlers). They suddenly disappeared from the spot where they were standing because King Kesrick used his bloody magic to quickly leave.
After a few moments, King Kesrick and his twenty well-trained battlers appeared in the land of Phrygia. Everyone was curiously looking at them. They didn't know the reason why their king was visiting the land.
"Are they searching for someone?" the people murmured.
They didn't want to interfere with their king's business, especially since he's not so good to the people, so they ignored him and returned to their recent works.  Meanwhile, Kesrick ordered his battlers to search for the couples who were unlawfully living on the land. It seemed that the land of Phrygia had no ruler when Felix showed himself to be the new king of the kingdom.
"Your majesty, can I know what you're doing here?" Felix tried to ask normally. Perhaps he knows that Kesrick is doing something that's above and beyond his oath.
"Is there something wrong with what we're doing? We're just arresting those people who are unlawfully living on this land. So if you don't want to be one of the arrested, then tell us where your brother lives," Kesrick warned.
"Your majesty, I believe that you're not doing anything above your level, so you must tell me first what you really want from my brother."
"Is not it apparent to you that your brother and the Incino girl named Lyra broke the law of Antipatris?" Kesrick handed him the golden paper.
Felix accepted that paper. He unrolled and began to read it. He was surprised and disappointed by what was written on the paper. He was considering Kesrick as an inspiration, but he lost it quickly. Felix tried to pretend that he wasn't affected, but what turned out was that he could do nothing against the will of the immature king.
"Now, tell me, where's your younger brother if you don't want to join them in prison?" Kesrick warned.
"Ha-ha, I thought that Antipatris had met the king, but I was so disappointed that the man in front of me is still experiencing one of the eight personality developments."
"How dare you disrobe your king?" Kesrick sounds mad. "You don't really want to tell me, huh?" Kesrick pulled his sword. He was about to strike the new ruler of Phrygia when someone shouted.
"Your majesty, we have found the couple here!" The battler shouted. He, along with the other battlers, was handcuffing the innocent couple, and they went near King Kesrick.
There's something streaming out of Ylarry's abdomen. He knew it was blood, because he tried to protect Lyra from those battlers who were seizing her. Unfortunately, he's now weaker than those battlers, which is why they were caught easily.
"Whahahaha!" Kesrick laughed like a demon. He pushed back his sword against its sheath. "Now let's go and imprison this despicable couple."
"Wait!" Felix tried to stop them, but it was too late. The new king and his battlers suddenly disappeared from the spot where they were. He didn't know what to do. What he only knows is that it's his responsibility if whatever happens to his brother, even to the Phrygians.
On the one hand, Thoreau's prediction happened, and the king brought Ylarry and Lyra to the palace of Antipatris. It's a different thing because instead of letting the prison punish them, the king put them inside a private prison in the palace of Antipatris.
"Hey! Why are you doing this to us?" Lyra asked.
Lyra was trying to get out of the cage, but she failed, and those guardsmen didn't mind her. She could not even break the steel-hard block because her dark magic would not affect it. But most of all, she's worried about her beloved Ylarry, because he's running out of blood, and if it cannot be healed, he will die.
"My love, please fight. I can't live without you." Prolific tears spurt out from Lyra's eyes. Fortunately, she remembered that there was something she put inside her pocket that she could use in case of an emergency.
The poor man isn't replying to Lyra. Perhaps he's out of consciousness because of the pain caused by the battlers. He's just lying there on the floor, waiting for his time. Meanwhile, Lyra gets something from her pocket. It was a leaf of a sucram that came from the land of Phrygia.
The boy who was considered the prince of sorrow had quickly changed. He's no longer capable of determining the difference between right and wrong. What's on his mind is to give back to others what he has received.
Kesrick is thinking about the best thing to do with Ylarry and Lyra. He knew that he needed to hurry because not long after, the demigods would come and perhaps they would save Ylarry from him. Certainly, those demigods could not make a law by themselves, but the king of Antipatris could, because it's his kingdom.
He stood up from the golden-encrusted throne and made many steps towards the room where he imprisoned Ylarry and Lyra. He wanted to see their current condition to know if they were comfortable in their new environment.
