Chapter 47 Death Wish

At this point, both of them are not just competing for me, but competing for our ego and pride and see who will rise higher than that. Pride.
“$1 billion.”  Said the serious man, still looking at me with a focused look. The smirking man’s jaw dropped and he cursed under his breath, now utterly lost.
The emcee from beside me grinned and announced, “Okay we got our last bid for tonight, ladies and gentleman!”
The emcee from beside me grinned and announced, “Okay we got our last bid for tonight, ladies and gentleman!”
People began to leave and the emcee motioned for me to wait in the waiting room in the back. Two men in suits approached me and guided me back to where I was held captive earlier. Except now, the room was empty. They already removed the chains from my hands and my feet were starting to feel okay now.
“Wait for the man who bought you for tonight to come me.” one of the men instructed.
I nodded and waited for them to leave.
When I heard the door clicking, I forced myself to run to the door and planned to escape. I struggled against the doorknob, fumbling on it.
Damn, they must have locked it.
I smacked the keyhole, destroying it instantly.  I grinned in victory and pushed open the door for me to get out. I have to go to the room where Owen was and get him out too.
I dragged my feet and tried to quicken the pace while looking around me, checking for any bodyguards. When I saw that the area was clear, I continued with my plan. The outside was dark with only dim lights around. The room I stayed in felt like a prison cell more than a waiting room.
“Awe, you escaped already?”
A voice said against the silence. I gasped, not bothering to look behind me as I sprinted in a hurry.
Dammit! I cursed under my breath. To think that I would be caught this soon as I wasn’t able to reach the end of the hall.
“That’s not where the exit is.”
The voice spoke up again, now chasing after me. I took a quick glance behind me and gasped. Now that he’s closer. I could see the man was wearing a masquerade mask. To be precise, he was the serious man who betted on me earlier.
“I bought you with my 1 billion. Shouldn’t you thank me, Kamilah?” Hearing his voice clearly now, I instantly knew who it was.
The man took off his mask for a few seconds for me to see before he returned it to his face and Isleen gasped at the sight.
The man took off his mask for a few seconds for me to see before he returned it to his face and Isleen gasped at the sight.
“Was my cover so good that you didn’t recognize me?” Alpha Magnus said.
So it was Alpha Magnus who bought me tonight.
A tear escaped my eyes from seeing him, and pure relief washed over me. “What took you so long?”
My voice broke and tears after tears fell like waterfalls. He’s here. Finally here. I instantly let my guard down as all I could think was happiness. I knew he would come for me.
With one scoop on me, Alpha Magnus’s strong hands carried me in his hands bridal style and I could feel his anger with the way his sharp jaw was clenching.
“I apologize for arriving late. I’ll make them pay. They should really be having a death wish for messing up with my mate.”
He broke the chains I had on my hands and feet, and carefully slid a key into the metal necklace on my neck. As soon as I was free, I felt my feet going numb and I almost fell to the ground, except Alpha Magnus caught me.
He pulled me in a hug as he whispered in my ear, “You’re safe now, baby.”  He then scooped me up in his arms and started to run in a flash with one hand carrying me. He entered each room, his hands shifting into his sharp claws and he rampaged on every man he would see. Security instantly alerted, deploying armed men to us but Alpha Magnus's hand just scratched them, killing them on the spot.
“I may not be able to stop so hold on tight.” He whispered to me and I smirked, “Go on, show me what you got.”
He nodded, still on his rampage mode. When we reached the Fowler’s room, they fired some strange weapons on us but Alpha Magnus was quick to crack our bones and kill them.
Everyone was almost dead, except the old man, our leader. “You killed enough of my men, bastard!” He yelled in rage, pointing at us his machine gun and continued firing.
But Alpha Magnus’s skin felt like his skin was made out of stone as it didn’t even have any effect on him. He blocked every bullet and instead, grabbed a metal to fire it back to him.
But Alpha Magnus’s skin felt like his skin was made out of stone as it didn’t even have any effect on him. He blocked every bullet and instead, grabbed a metal to fire it back to him. The bullet pierced straight into his heart, knocking out his life.
“Let’s leave this shitty hole now.” Muttered Alpha Magnus but I stopped him, remembering Owen. “We have to save someone. Owen..”
Alpha Magnus’s expression changed the moment he heard the name. “So the Fowlers caught him too….” We go to the room earlier where I somehow thought where Owen was. And when we entered, I could see him looking blankly at the wall.
His eyes had completely turned black as if infected with a disease. He was wearing no shirt, except the worn-out denim pants and the necklace on his neck. Dirt was all over his body, but he got thin and weak and pale so he must have lost a lot of blood. When he noticed our presence, he called out to me, not believing I had made it out. “Kamilah?”
He then glanced at Alpha Magnus beside me and nodded at him, “So he really came for you..”
Magnus gulped, seeing his past subordinate, “Owen..”
Silence fell and I cleared my throat, “We have a lot of things to talk about but let’s get you out of here first.”
Alpha Magnus destroyed the cell’s lock and even got the key he used from me earlier to Owen. Once he was finally out, Owen coughed blood and stopped, “Don’t touch me further. I might spread the disease I had gained from the series of experiments.”
Alpha Magnus nodded, understanding it, “Then follow us. We’ll get you treated by my pack doctor.”
He nodded, “Just lead the way.”
We somehow got outside the building and another familiar creature appeared.
“Heyyy.” Dimitri, greeted warmly, wearing sunglasses, and looked so chill as if he just got on vacation.
He spotted me in Alpha Magnus’s arms, “Long time no see, Kamilah.”
I nodded, “Same to you.”
“By the way, I was the other man who had bid on you.” He said, pointing at the masquerade mask he had. I snorted, shaking my head at our tricks.
“What a great way to buy me.” I joked, having the energy to do so. I felt my energy slowly coming back a bit, but not enough that I could run and attack anyone.
Alpha Magnus noticed my discomfort, “I’ll let Zefren brew a tea for you to fight off the poison gas’ effects.”
Dimitri noticed Owen's presence as he nodded at him, “Great to see you,  Owen.”
Alpha Magnus cleared his throat, “Let’s leave the catching up later, for now, we have to shut this whole building down.”
Dimitri then threw a remote control on me and I raised my eyebrows at him, “What is this?”
“The bombs I placed in our building. One-click and they’ll be gone.” He explained and I nodded, smirking.
“Good job for that, Dimitri.” I complimented, eyeing the remote control. when we were a far distance from the building, I clicked the button, and a loud bang echoed throughout the building. Smoke and fire came out, along with the smell of gas, and dead bodies being burned.
“Let’s go.” Alpha Magnus said, still carrying me.
I suddenly stopped, remembering something. Seems that I forgot something.
Oh yeah….Gusev….I wonder where he is?
