I groaned in my sleep, loving how my dreams are so peaceful as I felt the morning sun hit me. I grabbed my pillow but felt some hard stone and hardwood instead of the soft texture it. I halted…noticing the smell. Wait a minute-” As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw a naked Alpha Magnus, along with his smile as he sat upright. “Good morning, baby.” His morning-deep voice greeted me. “Well, it’s already in the afternoon.” I instantly sat upright, noticing I am naked too so I grabbed the whole blanket to me, which revealed his whole body to me and I instantly closed my eyes. “What are you doing in my room!” I yelled, “Stay away from me.” “It’s my room.” He interjected and sighed, standing up as he grab a pair of pants and threw them on, “And I knew this would happen.” I muttered a curse, what in the hell happened? My mind suddenly remembered what happened to me..to us last night and the flashback made me puke. No, it was just a dream, right? But the whole pain from my body, especially the thing between my thighs just disproved it. And the marks all over my body too. The marks that Alpha Magnus made. I swallowed hard, taking it harshly. So it really happened. Damn it. Why was I so horny? I swear, I’ll target the moon goddess myself and make her remove the in-heat thing for us females. I blamed my inner wolf, but she was still sleeping inside. Damn it. What now? And worse, I could remember everything, except the part about how in the hell did we arrive in his room? Alpha Magnus smirked at me, “That was a peaceful night for me.” Between us, he was the one who looked so refreshed. He seemed to enjoy what happened too much… I hid my face from him. Now the whole pack will know that I got…marked... “This is your fault.” I roared angrily and he clutched his chest. “My fault? Baby, you practically threw yourself at me last night. I held on and on but since it was a full moon, you couldn’t blame my vampire blood.” I gritted my teeth, “You…drained me!” I realized the words that left my mouth and he chuckled. “I..apologize..” He then offered a glass of water to me from the table, but my pride would even accept anything that he would offer. Just then, the door opened and a shocked Dimitri walked in. “Alpha, you’re late to-” He stopped, seeing me in his bed, and looked at the standing alpha, before darting his eyes back and forth to us and gulping. When he realized what is happening, he mumbled a curse, “Oh sh*t”. He instantly closed the door and yelled, “I didn’t see anything!” I glared at Alpha Magnus, “Great. Your beta saw us. Couldn’t you mind linking him and warning him about not entering your room?” He rubbed the back of his neck, “I…forgot.” I instantly wrapped the blanket around me and ran to my room, which is just next to this. **** “Goodmorning Alpha Kamilah,” Dimitri greeted, “And good morning Alpha Magnus.” I had already showered and Alpha Magnus kept on gazing at me, which I’ve been ignoring. He forced me to sit in the dining room beside Dimitri awkwardly. I just glanced at Dimitri before glaring at the plate in front of me. Tension filled the room that there was nothing I wanted except to get eaten out by the ground right now. That’s it. I’ll leave. I started to stand, “I’m not in the mood to eat-” “You need to eat to regain your energy.” Alpha Magnus said, stopping me from leaving. Dimitri gulped, “I mean…I’m going to pretend I don’t know anything and this is a relationship mate thing but why am I seated between you two?” Alpha Magnus clasped his hand. “Let’s talk about earlier. You didn’t see anything right?” Dimitri nodded, “Yes! I promise!” Alpha Magnus gave me a look, “See? He didn’t, so I assure you-” “Stop playing nice now. Everyone in this pack has heard that you already marked my last night. It’s normal for the mates thing, like you said,” I said firmly, now accepting the harsh truth bitterly, “So let’s move on.” Alpha Magnus nodded, “Alright.” He then turned to his beta beside him. “What’s my schedule today?” Dimitri opened the tablet in his hands and started to enumerate the list of his schedule, “We’re going to visit your company and instruct your new human employees, then we’ll fly to Europe to have a business meeting with the Lycan King and discuss the Druscilla matter and imbalance in werewolves, along with-” “Cancel everything.” Said Alpha Magnus, staring at me directly, “I’ll spend my time on the most important thing for now.” I rolled my eyes. Starting to eat now, I tried to focus on the food as Alpha Magnus and Dimitri continued in conversing. I’m a bit glad that Dimitri is here to make him distracted and to ease off the tension between us. After that, Alpha Magnus got a bit too clingy for my liking. I would walk around his pack and try to avoid him, but he would find a way to call for me. “Kamilah, baby, I know you’re avoiding me.” He said through the mind link. Yeah, mind link. Stupid mind link. After he marked me, we somehow had this connection that he could mind link me now, just like 150 years ago when I was a member of his pack. Damn it, I'm not even enjoying the situation. I felt suffocated, but then my inner world would always find a way to gaslight me, saying I’m reacting way too much. “Don’t tell me you hate this whole connection thing cause you know you can’t escape this.” My inner wolf taunted and I rolled my eyes, ignoring her. Alpha Magnus would then come every night to me, not to mark me again but to sleep beside me. “Sleep on your own,” I responded, and he stayed leaning on the wall of my door. “Come on, I already marked you. We’re tied now. Why are you so embarrassed when you were so aggressive to me that night?” I gulped, avoiding his gaze, “That’s..a one-time thing.” He sighed, disappointment in his voice, “You mean a one-night stand? If I knew this would only make you angry, then I shouldn’t have let my instincts get to me that night.” He paused, “But you hate me so much as your mate. If it’s not about me being hybrid, then what is it?” “You don’t understand,” I answered, still remembering that night. I felt a bit traumatized…cementing my doubts about him. He grabbed my hand, “Please explain it to me so that I can understand.” I turned to him, “150 years ago…you remember? The night that I left you.” He blinked. “Yes?” He urged me to continue, wanting to be enlightened. “I went into your room and saw you…drinking from a human.” He gasped, “That was a…full moon…, my vampire blood took over, wanting to drink your blood so much but I didn’t want to harm you so I found the closest thing I could find….” I looked at him incredulously, processing his response, “That’s it?” He nodded, “Yes. I am telling the truth, you can ask Dimitri about it.” I couldn't help but chuckle, “You talked to me, saying you could treat me kindly but I had doubts, knowing your reputation as womanizer….and after seeing that, my doubts cemented. I knew I couldn’t trust you as your mate without getting hurt.” As silly as it may sound and as shallow it may appear, I still could feel that thing… “forgive me for what I did in the past.” He asked humbly. “I’ll leave and let you think about it for now.” He then walked away, closing the door behind him and I breathed in, not knowing I was sucking in the breath I was holding. But hearing him say that, I felt a bit pathetic and stupid for my reason. He’s a hybrid, a rare occurrence and even he might be confused to understand himself sometimes. As a werewolf, it was hard for me to adjust growing up, having to learn how to survive and fight. What more to ALpha Magnus, who has to live his life a werewolf to the day and a vampire every full moon, his blood fighting for dominance every time? I gulped, sitting in my room and looking at the window. Just then, the door opened and a panting Dimitri showed me a piece of paper. “What?” He breathed deeply and let out, “I have news.”
