But hearing him say that, I felt a bit pathetic and stupid for my reason. He’s a hybrid, a rare occurrence and even he might be confused to understand himself sometimes. As a werewolf, it was hard for me to adjust growing up, having to learn how to survive and fight. What more to ALpha Magnus, who has to live his life a werewolf to the day and a vampire every full moon, his blood fighting for dominance every time? I gulped, sitting in my room and looking at the window. Just then, the door opened and a panting Dimitri showed me a piece of paper. “What?” He breathed deeply and let out, “I have news…Owen, he’s gone.” I tilted my head to the side, “What?” He cleared his throat, handing me the paper, “He left this paper in the room with your name on it.” I sensed Owen’s smell on the paper and instantly opened it to see a letter inside. My eyes slowly grazed each letter, feeling a pang of my heart hurting. To Kamilah, Thank you for helping me, once again. I’ll make sure to return the favor next time we meet. I’ll be on my way now. Take care. -Owen. I sighed. Problems after problems. But its’ alright, Owen must have felt suffocated here and really wanted to leave again. We have to respect his decision as it's his life after all. But I didn’t get to say goodbye to him…. I guess we’ll see each other soon. Who knows. “Oh, and someone wanted to surprise you.” Said Dimitri, taking me away from my trance. The door opened and a familiar scent followed. Glancing at it, I saw the tiger, Lumiere, who jumped happily at the sight of me. “Lumiere!” I chuckled, feeling her tongue licking me. “She’s happy to see her owner,” Dimitri commented. “Awee, you must have missed me?” I asked, pinching my tiger’s cheek and throwing a ball for her to play with. I faced Dimitri, “How did she get here? I almost forgot about her!” Dimitri smirked, “Well, let’s just say someone wanted to make up to you.” I nodded, not even having to guess who it was. Of course, it has to be someone who gave Lumiere to me…it’s Alpha Magnus. I guess he thought it was a way to cheer me up. Days passed by, with me killing time with my pet Lumiere and still not talking to Magnus. But I woke up one day with her not by my side anymore. I instantly called Dimitri, “Where is Lumiere?” He shrugged, “I don’t know, I was out the whole day.” Just then, a patrol guard assigned then came to us, “I saw your pet tiger getting caught by the humans.” I gasped, “What?” “But Alpha Magnus had already gone to save him.” He said and Dimitri gulped. “This is bad, he gifted it to you, Kamilah! I know how angry he’ll get now, he might burn the whole town trying to get the tiger.” Dimitri shrieked, “Last time something like this happened, I barely even saved the humans. He’ll probably listen to you, Kamilah.” “This is bad, he gifted it to you, Kamilah! I know how angry he’ll get now, he might burn the whole town trying to get the tiger.” Dimitri shrieked, “Last time something like this happened, I barely even saved the humans. He’ll probably listen to you, Kamilah.” I instantly ran to town, following Alpha Magnus's scent and was directed to the local zoo. I watched as my lovely pet get caged and Alpha Magnus ran and spread gas everywhere. He took out Lumiere from the cage and had a match in his hand. “Magnus!” I yelled, stopping him and grabbing Lumiere. “You’re going to burn the whole place?” He nodded, gritting his sharp jaw, “Yes, they keep messing things up. I want them to suffer.” “No, stop this right this instant.” I yelled, ordering him, “It’s alright, Lumiere is fine.” Yes, I’m angry at humans, but I don’t want the whole town to suffer, I have a few human friends including Edmund, the local waffle house owner. The kind people would get affected by some sin they didn’t commit. I don’t want that to happen. I instantly removed the match from his hand and hugged him, “Please, Magnus, let’s just go back.” He seemed to somehow calm down and he let me direct him to the pack. With Lumiere by our side, he walked behind me slowly. He put his hands in his pockets, “So you’re talking to me now?” I sighed, “Depends on what you’ll do.” “But you already hugged me.” I rolled my eyes, he sounded like a kid how immature he sounds. “I’m tired, let’s just head back.” As soon as we went back to his pack, I had put a leash on Lumiere so she won’t wander around anymore. I lay on my bed, thinking of something to do. I feel so bored here, besides Lumiere keeping me company and I’m sure Alpha Magnus will only bother me, and Dimitri following his orders. I mean, what am I waiting here for? Some miracle? Druscilla might pause for his attacks now, and I’m wondering what is my pack doing now since I’ve been gone for weeks now… I was about to close my eyes when Alpha Magnus came into my room. “What is it?” “I don’t want you not talking to me. I can’t sleep, Kamilah.” He said, his voice filled with so much sadness. I turned around, “Then sleep on your own.” “How about a thank you for saving your pet?” He asked. “Yeah, thank you,” I said tiredly and still kept my eyes closed. Instantly, I felt him closer, “Then pat my head.” “Huh?” I asked, confused. “I want you to pat my head,” He repeated without blinking. Sitting upright, I did as he said since I don’t have the energy to argue anymore. “Again please.”He pointed at my hand, “I want another pat on the head.” “What are you, five?” I asked, finding this weird but a bit….adorable… He had a small pout on his lips, “No, but I want your pat. It’s relaxing for me. Please, Kamilah?” Clicking my tongue, I placed my hand on his head and patted him for a bit. “Done, can I sleep now?” I asked, feeling so tired and wanting nothing but to sleep. “Will you not avoid me tomorrow?” He asked hopefully. I yawned, “Depends, Magnus, Depends.” He nodded, “Alright, Goodnight.”
