Chapter 30

They walked to the second floor of the inn and arrived at the door of a vacant room.
"This is your room from now on. Just call me next door if you need anything," Travis said, "Then, I won't disturb your rest."
Travis had started to walk away when Lucelle said something, "T-thank you."
Travis responded while he didn't turn his back, "You're welcome," he grinned and continued to walk away to go to his own room where his two male friends were staying, while his female friends were in the other next door.
Meanwhile, Lucelle opened the door and entered the room. She took off the jasmine flower from her neck and store it inside the thorid ring. She also took off her red cloak and put it on the desk, then she noticed that red cloak was torn up due to the poniard and arrow she got by her enemies.
I guess, I need to see an artifact refiner to fix my red cloak.
Because this inn was a much more better than the village's inn, it was spacious, had a large bed and a bathroom inside.
Lucelle remembered her own room, though it was bigger, more stylish and more spacious than the room she was currently staying.
She took off all of her clothes one by one and went into the bathroom. As she was taking a half-bath, she kept thinking about her family, why did it end up like that... losing everything she had once...
I knew that... with the strength of Feronia Kingdom, they couldn't pose a threat to my family especially my father who was one of the top three strongest. So... those hidden forces... Are they the iniator of my family's tragedy? Or are they also being commanded? Then who is that person? How strong is that person that could give command to the Feronia Kingdom's bastard king? Did my parents offended that person? How...?
She got rid of her thoughts and continued half-bathing, then left the bathroom after. She wore the extra clothes, which was prepared by the village's inn owner, from her mom's thorid ring.
When she was about to lie down on the bed, she remembered the blank parchment. A parchment which meant to be opened after breaking through to 3rd-circle magic level, said by her dad.
She took out the blank parchment from her dad's thorid ring. She stared at it for a minute, wondering what secrets or mysteries could it have and how powerful it could be.
If it needed 3rd-circle magic level, then it would open using my 3rd-circle magic power, right...?
Lucelle infused her magic power to the blank parchment, then it brightened while floating on the air. A moment later, it suddenly flew through onto her forehead.
Her eyes were widened and glimmering. And out of her own self, she knelt down on the floor while biting her lips. She was suffering painfully from an unkown reason, perhaps because of the parchment. She wanted to scream out loud, but she forced herself not to... since she doesn't anyone to know what she was doing especially Travis and his friends.
Abruptly, she touched her head with her two hand, it felt like her brain was breaking as hell when a tremendous and mighty tone spoke out within.
"I am the 68th leader of the Scorching Goddess Clan, Gwendolyn Imperious!"
Lucelle saw a projection of a gorgeous and fierce-looking figure wearing an elegant dress who looked like a goddess in her mind. She was also engulfed with a scorching aura.
The pressure that Scorching Goddess Gwendolyn Imperious gave to Lucelle was frightening, yet felt comfortable and seemed like she was getting stronger. Maybe because they had the same aura, a scorching aura.
Even though it helped Lucelle for getting stronger, it was still too much for her to endure. When Scorching Goddess Gwendolyn Imperious noticed it, she moved his away and the pressure was slowly vanishing.
Lucelle gave a relief sigh, but was shocked when she found out that she was currently in a spirit state.
Confusely, she gazed around at the blazing field and saw the Scorching Goddess intently looking at her, as if her eyes wanted to burn Lucelle's body into ashes.
Trembling with fear, Lucelle managed to ask her a question, "W-where I am...?"
"You are in the space of the Heavenly Fire Parchment which I created many ages ago."
"H-heavenly Fire Parchment...?" Lucelle asked with a curiosity, "Don't tell it is the blank parchment earlier?"
"You are correct with that."
"Then why am I here? What's your reason?" Lucelle continued asking.
"Isn't it obvious? You awakened me,  even though I'm just a wisp of soul in the Heavenly Fire Parchment, through your unique magic power," the Scorching Goddess answered, "Therefore, you have the right to be here... the right to see and talk to me."
"Then what about my dad and other clansmen who used the blank parchment earlier than me? Did they awakened you, too?"
Annoyed, the Scorching Goddess replied, "Didn't I say Heavenly Fire Parchment, not a blank parchment! Do you want to be burned with my fire?"
Lucelle unknowningly bowed her head and sincerely apologized, "S-sorry, it won't happen again."
"Fine," the Scorching Goddess said after a sigh, "About your dad and clansmen, they are just not qualified to awaken me and to enter the space within. All they could do was just to learn and understand the words that appeared after putting their magic power in the Heavenly Fire Parchment. Maybe all they had learn were just basic or advance spells of my Scorching Goddess Clan."
"Despite that, it helped them a lot. The learnings they got unshackled the chains they had for years; they managed to break through. But... it also lead to annihilation," said by Lucelle, feeling down.
"I felt sorry for your loss. Bu don't worry. You can take revenge as you are qualified."
No, you are not at fault. Those Feronia Kingdom's bastards are to blame for the tragedy of my family. She wanted to say that, but chose no to.
"What does a qualified person really meant? Is it just to awaken you...?"
The Scorching Goddess chuckled, "Awakening me means passing the all the knowledge of the Scorching Clan including secret techniques and forbidden spell."
"What?!" Lucelle shouted in a disbelief and shock tone.
"I'm not kidding here. You will be the 69th leader of the Scorching Goddess Clan. And until my wisp of soul dissipates, I will guide you in mastering the different techniques of the clan. Just think of it as compensation of what happened to your family and my help for you to get stronger. But... there is one thing I have to ask before we proceed."
"What is it?" asked by Lucelle.
"Are you willing to inherent my mantle and to lead the clan into a greater good?"
Without a second thought, she knelt down as her head was hit on the space's floor.
"Yes, I am willing to be the 69th leader of the Scorching Goddess Clan as long it will help me getting stronger and getting revenge!"
"Even though I have condition?"
Didn't she say thay I will just treat it as a compensation and her help as well...? So why there is a condition?
Lucelle got rid of that thought and just firmly replied, "As long it it's within my capabilities and won't lead me to a deepest downfall, I will accept it."
