Chapter 41

ARAIA'S P.O.V.
"How's the food?" I asked the children. They're all eating well.
"Everything's delicious, Luna." The little boy that is always on my son's side answers.
"I'm glad!"
I couldn't contain myself from asking where they came from because I literally rarely see them. Of course I want to know who my son's friend is, right?
"Which family do you guys belong to?" My question isn't directed to anyone, but my son's friend answered first.
"I'm Yuta Buenaflor, from the town nearby. We used to make clothes…"
Hmm… Oh! I know his family!
I remember that I used to come to their house personally when I wanted customized clothes for me and my family.
Before, I would rather design my own clothes because the maternity clothes here aren't to my taste and sometimes those are too uncomfortable for me, so whenever you have time I would get my clothes customized.
That's where I learned about this particular family that accepts customized designs. They were so kind to me and they never judged me on whatever design I brought them.
"How's your family?"
"We're good!" He said excitedly. Now that he introduced his family I can see his resemblance to his father. He must be the baby that they were carrying before when I first went to their house.
He grew up as a fine boy.
"That's great!"
"You know them mom?" Zion was chewing his food when he asked.
"Ahuh."
When I look at Zion, he's looking at me like he's expecting more. I ended up telling them about Yuta's family as they're so curious how I know.
"Oh! Can I do my own clothes design?"
I nodded at Zion.
"Of course sweetie."
"Is it hard?" He asks.
"Nope."
He just nodded his head and continued eating.
When I feel that my son doesn't have any other questions I proceed on asking the other kinds.
"So, how about the others?"
And so, everyone started introducing themselves.
"I am Mai, from the Melanchi family, Luna." A child with red hair said..
Hmm…I think I know that family as well.
"Is your family, perhaps, the one that helped me to train before?"
The kid nodded.
"Oh! I knew it!"
Alejandro snapped his fingers.
"I remember them as well, Melanchi are known for being loyal soldiers to us."
"Woah…soldiers…" The other children seemed amazed by the topic.
I can't help but to tell them a story of how the soldiers fight for the sake of their loved ones. About how cool they are and how passionate they can be.
"They're so cool! I want to be a soldier too!"
"Me too!"
"I want to!"
Haha! They're so cute!
When they calmed down, I asked the remaining kids about their names. Unexpectedly, my brows are itching to raise every time I hear a specific word from them.
"You guys came from the town nearby…" Alejandro murmurs. He's thinking the same as I do.
Our gaze met when we realized something. I glare at my son, who's eating quietly. He must have already noticed that we have something to ask him.
"I wonder if MY SON IS ALWAYS OUTSIDE THIS TOWN?" I made sure that every word I speak would emphasize my curiosity.
The town nearby isn't too far from here, but it's also not near from here. How come my son, who's barely ten years old, gathered a number of friends from there?
We can't say that it is not dangerous at all and we can't also say that it is safe to go there. I'm just wondering how he gathered his friends without me knowing and the fact that they are from the nearby town.
I have assigned a number of guards to guard my son but I've heard nothing about this matter.
It's making my blood boil because when did I learn about this? Next year? Or when something bad has already happened to my son?
I have experienced many strange events in this world already and I know how dangerous this world is, especially for my son who is the alpha's sole successor.
There are lots of people who want to bring us down, especially because we have a big scope of power and land.
And my son would be the one to manage it all when we're gone.
I don't know what would happen to me if anything bad happens to my son.
I don't know how I would react and how I would treat everyone who has a connection with it.
I would go insane, I believe.
Losing a son, or even seeing my son hurt is the last thing that I want to happen. That's why I'm doing my best so that the surroundings of my son would not be as dangerous as how it was when I first came here in this world.
"Uhm- well…" Zion seems troubled. He should be.
I was about to call Zion's personal maid when Alejandro held my hand. My eyes landed on him and he's looking at me with such warm eyes. As if he's telling me to stop what I'm about to do.
"Ha…okay…" I won't ask questions anymore, but just this time because we're eating and Zion's friends are here.
I glared one more time to Zion and he averted my gaze although he's smiling quite embarrassed.
All of us continue eating, the children are having a chit chat while me and Alejandro are just watching them.
A little later, they all started to talk about the play that they did earlier.
"Mom, so, we are playing earlier like the one you taught us where we will run as fast as we can and the first one to reach the goal is the winner."
"Ahuh?" What's with that game?
"So, we are playing and we noticed that we are running faster than before."
"What do you mean?" Alejandro asks Zion.
"You know, like before we could run with just this speed but now we can run with a faster speed."
"Oh, that's an improvement sweetie."
"Oh! That's what you call it?!" The children suddenly ask.
"Yup."
So they're just wondering how they can run faster compared to before?
Then here I am, thinking that they were wondering about other things.
"It means you guys are growing and you are changing for the better."
"Is it for the better?" Bailey, one of the children asks.
"Uhm…it depends."
"Why mom?"
I drank a glass of water before I answered them.
"Well, do you guys want to run faster so you can win your racing game?"
"Yes!" They all said
"Then, your improvement is for the better."
"Ah…" They said in unison.
Whoo… I didn't know that explaining can be this difficult.
Hour has passed and we're now done eating, and the children are on their way home. I asked some of our men to bring the children home safely.
Thankfully, their timidness aren't the same as before, it looks like they've grown accustomed to me and Alejandro already.
"Get home safe children!" I waved them goodbye.
"Now, why don't we continue our talk?" I glared at my son who's beside me.
"Uhmm…well…"
**
"What? You're going there just to play?" I said unbelievably.
"Yes mommy, but that's because I like them, compared to the kids here, they're not treating me like their friends!"
What?!
"What do you mean?" Did I miss something? How do the children here treat my son? Are they bullying him?
"They're treating me like an Alpha's son!" He exclaimed.
"But you're an Alpha's son, kid." Alejandro interrupted.
Zion inhaled exaggeratedly and sigh sadly.
"You don't understand…"
Alejandro and I looked at each other. Why's our son acting like this?
I carry our son and kiss him on his cheeks.
"How do you want the others to treat you?"
He intertwined his fingers before answering my question.
"Well, if they're my friends of course they should treat me as their friend, not some son of some Alpha…"
He pouted his little lips, he's so cute!
But I think I understand what he's saying now. So, my son wanted a true friend that wouldn't see him as superior to them but one that's on the same level as them.
"Do you hate being the Alpha's son?" Alejandro asks.
Our attention went to Zion.
"Of course not, dad! I love being your son, but I want to have a normal friendship."
Woah. How old is my son again? Why do I feel like he's much older than his actual age?
"Is that so?"
Zion nodded.
"We love you too." I pulled Alejandro towards us and hugged them both. He wrapped his arms around us tightly.
"I love you both."
"But please, next time, tell us where you're going, Okay?"
Zion nodded.
"Well, should we eat chocolate?" Alejandro teases our son.
We all know that our son loves chocolate.
"Yes!" Zion shouted excitedly.
We went back to the house and spent quality time together.
It was a loud evening, when Zion seemed to be exhausted, we decided to call it a night.
After a couple of hours, Zion wanted me to read him a story so we went to his room.
I helped him take a bath, then we settled on his bed.
"What book do you want me to read you?" I am scanning his bedtime books while he's already lying on his bed.
"Uhm, I think the one with the story of a baby wolf."
"Okay." I picked up the book and went to his side. "Here we go."
I read him the story until he fell asleep.
Hmm…my eyes suddenly roamed around his room. It's neat. Aside from the toys that's not arranged accordingly, there's no other trash on his room's floor.
He must be in a rush when he's arranging his toys.
I slowly got out of his bed and rearranged his toys. He doesn't have that many toys because he wanted to play outside more than playing inside. He would also rather play physical activities. He would also come home with lots of dirt in his body.
He also prepares training and interacts with some of our men, although sometimes he can't keep up with the adults. We made sure that he wouldn't feel less and we would always give him something you can do.
But thanks to that, my son was now confident and he sure knew how to interact with other people.
I was about to finish rearranging the toys when I noticed something.
There's a shining crystal placed between the vase and his picture.
Why does it look familiar?
I slowly walked towards it and gasped when I realized what it was.
It's the same crystal that I picked before I was transported here!
I immediately picked up the crystal.
"It looks the same!" This is the crystal! I'm sure of it!
I can't be mistaken! How does my son have this? When I look at him, he's fast asleep.
"I should ask him tomorrow." I went back to me and Alejandro's room.
He's reading a newspaper while sitting on our bed.
"Hon,I have something to tell you."
"What is it?" His attention went to mine as I told him that our son has the Biste.
"What did you just say?" He looked shocked.
"Our son has it in his room!" I showed him the crystal.
He goes to the other side of the bed where I am and stares at the crystal in my hand.
"Are you serious?"
"Yes…"
We're both in shock right now.
"How did he get this? I mean- where? We've been searching for this crystal…"
"I know!"
He touched the crystal and it shines even brighter.
"Holy cow…"
