Chapter 61 A Vampire On The Run

     Camila*_*
Swinston and I had left the states to a reserved place in Cuba. There, he said we would be safe and would never be tracked.
It looked like a military mercenary base, no questions asked because I knew who Swinston was, he was a killer like me.
And for 24 hours, my brain was frozen from thoughts. I didn't want to think about what happened to Logan, but there was one question that lingered in my mind.
"Is he dead?" I asked Swinston who came to check up on me at my quarters. He's been doing that.
"Do you think he's not?" He retorted, serving himself a chair. He held my two hands and looked into my eyes. "You have nothing to worry about, Camila—"
"But I Killed him?" I asked with a faint voice.
"You had no option, Camila. He was going to kill us both, he was insane, it was a very good thing you did even for him, you relieved him of any future pain…" he sighed.
"You saved me, Camila. Doesn't that count for something?" He took his hands to my cheek, carrying my face like it was an egg.
Maybe it was his charming personality that got me the most. It got me feeling like I made the right decision after all.
But… "but, whatever they did to him, he didn't deserve it…" I said shaking my head. "He was a good man nevertheless" I said with a sigh.
Swinston got up, it was boring him. "Well, if it helps. May his soul rest in peace" he motioned to leave but I called him back.
    "Swinston?"
    "Yes, honey?"
"An ordinary gun can't kill Logan, at least I'm sure of that"
He shrugged. "Remove the ordinary" he said with a smile.
    "What does that mean?"
"See, those bullets weren't just any bullets, they had been worked on for so many years, it contains so many deadly organic chemicals including an enhanced wolfsbane…"
I was shocked. "What? You used me to kill him?!"
"No, no no. It's not like that"
    "Yeah?" I got furious.
"You saw his look when you shot him, it was like Killing us both was the one best thing he could do with his life—"
"Yes, because we shot him, we attacked him"
Swinston sighed. Utterly out of it, I could tell that he was really holding himself from exploding. "Look, it happened, okay. He's gone and that's it. This isn't your fault"
"What if this, what if this doesn't kill him?"
      "Do you think it won't?"
"Are you seriously asking me?" Yes, he was. But I wasn't really serious.
"Well, riddle me" he said with a shrug, crossing his arms.
I shook my head and sighed. "I don't know, Swinston, I don't know. I hope he is though, he won't stop chasing us until we are dead"
Swinston went mute for a while, as if he was going through a difficult decision phase. "Damn it"
"What's wrong?" I walked up to him.
"Just to be sure, just to be on the safe side, we've got to hurry—"
    "Hurry? Hurry with what?"
"Um, Camila this is going to be sudden but I promise you, it's going to be alright"
"What? Could you just calm down? What are we doing?"
"Finding a safer place…" he said with a smile. "But that man can't survive that, I'm sure of that"
    "Oh"
****
*Logan*_*
It was warm, so warm unlike what I had expected. But funny enough, I wasn't expecting anything, I was only thinking. It was as if that scene would forever be engraved In my mind.
I shuddered at the realization that it was Camila who really shot me, I didn't want to believe that it was actually her, but the picture kept flashing in my face.
I heard a creaking noise and forced my eyes open and immediately adapted to my environment.
"Strange" my own voice echoed. I tried to stand but I couldn't, pain had subdued my body and I was only living at it's mercy.
The door opened, followed with a curtain that invited cold light and wind into the old creaky freaky place, a man stood against the light, yielding some strange materials in his hand.
The fear of not being able to protect myself gripped and got the best of me. I tried harder, but it was too painful.
"Why do you struggle so much for survival?" The strange man's voice came, a cold, husky and wild voice.
"Who are you?" I asked, straining away from him, even though he was still far away from me.
"Someone who wants you to live. Please don't, stay in the bed, you lost a lot of blood and energy…" he said with a smile, I couldn't see his face clearly but the tone of his voice suggested it.
    "Why did you save me?"
"Because I saw a dead man where I went to supply some farm crops…"
"Dead man? Was I dead?" I questioned. Afraid that I might have been out for a very long time, again.
"Um, technically, yes. I mean, anyone would be dead. Which bags the question, who are you, Logan Creed?"
My eyes widened. "Huh? Yo- u, you know me? Who are you?" I retorted. My curiosity had been aroused and I would be asking more questions than one.
"Who am I? A farmer. But you? Something else, aren't you?"
"How do you know my name?"
"Because I do. Tell me Logan, do you really not remember me?" He asked.
"I can't even see your face clearly, mate" I said through a painful sigh.
"Even my voice? You don't feel it either?" He asked seriously.
"What are you taking about?" I asked, so confused. I didn't know which to think about and handle, my pain, or him, or the fact that Camila's in trouble and I don't care anymore, or the fact that I lost to an omega?"
    "You really can't tell"
"Just tell me who are you and we will be done with it, okay?"
"Forget it. We will meet again…" he motioned to walk away. "We always will"
"Wait, are you leaving me alone here? I can't even get out of bed? I don't know where this is it? How long have I been out?!" I raised my voice. One could really go crazy.
"You will, in a couple of hours, after all, you survived death…" he said with a chuckle "we are in Cuba—"
    "Cuba?!" I was triggered. "Why?"
"This is where my life changed. Don't worry you haven't been out for a long time, just 24 hours…"
"24 hours? Time's really gone" I said with a sigh.
"You got something to do?" He asked.
"I want to, but there's no reason to"
"These people, they are dangerous, if they could literally kill you with some weapon, then they have really gone far. My advise, stay out of this"
"Want do you know?" I asked him.
"Goodbye stranger" he said and walked out.
****
I spent a couple more hours thinking what my next course of action would be, but I was indecisive, until an unwelcomed, unannounced guest came in.
"What to do, what to do, what to do? …" I heard footsteps around the corner. "Tic tac, tic tac, clock's ticking"
"Buck…" I said with a sigh. "This trick of yours is getting old remember? Show yourself, I don't have the strength to fight you, you might as well take this chance to kill me, take it mate, you might never get it again" I concluded with a chuckle.
"Hello brother…" his eyes glowed as he entered. "Kill you? " He chuckled. "What would I live for then?"
"Oh I forgot, you don't have anything better to do with your life than to torment my own life. It's that what you have come to do this time?" I asked, pulling myself up to lean against the wall while sitting. My strength was getting back and I could feel it.
"On the contrary, I have come to warn you, not that I care, but hey if you die, what's the fun?"
"Blabbing like an old mad man like always…"
      "Hmmm…"
"If you're here to tell me to not go after Camila, don't worry. I don't intend to"
    "Oh they have her?"
"You know them?" I asked confused, then I retreated, he knew most things, but why?
"Not exactly, but I can tell you that she isn't gone for good—"
   "I don't care" I replied abruptly.
He chuckled. "Oh dear, have your supposed mate broken your heart so much so that it can't be mended? I told you, Logan, it wasn't bound to end well, you ar—"
"Yes I'm cursed by the moon goddess centuries ago! Why did I think that this time would be any different? I certainly fooled myself…"
"But, what did you expect from a killer? And yes you should be worried. She hates you, just as much as you hate her, and you know what they are going to do to her? Transform her into the one thing she had ran away from… a one thousand year old vampire, in all her glory and even more she would be made a weapon, a weapon of destruction. One which would be able to lay waste a pack of werewolves in an instant"
I gulped. "Yeah, that's something to be worried about…"
"We have to stop them… if you care of course. But, She isn't even what you should be more worried about…"
"What?" I asked, taking a stand with my two feet.
