Chapter 64 You Are Our Alpha

"You're the one who's really afraid. You don't need to be, they are not exactly our enemies—"
"You think? Maybe for you, but not for me" he said with an impossible chuckle.
     "And why's that?"
"Nice talk, Logan. See ya when next I see ya" he brushed him off and ran into the woods, shifting into a wolf right before disappearing.
"Logan?!" Camila came out from the bunker and called out to him. Logan didn't even react like there was someone there.
Being fast enough, she whisked to him, nervous, she started spilling it all out.
"Please give me a chance I can explain, please—" Logan started walking toward a helicopter, but she continued because he would hear it.
"I swear I didn't know it would kill you, I didn't know what the bullets were made of, I'm deeply sorry, I was just too broken to believe anything, please, I'm not asking for anything else other than your forgiveness, it would mean the whole world to me right now. For the sake of what we had, what you had for me, forgive me, Logan Creed…"
"You're a joke. You should be trying to kill me now, nothing else. That is what you have been made to do, kill werewolves. For the sake of what we had? Did you thought about that too before killing me? You're my enemy now Camila. I can't be anywhere near a werewolf killing monster." He got into the helicopter and whirred off, leaving Camila alone.
****
A few days had passed already and Logan was very restless, and troubled as the Trinity's visit approached.
He was back at his castle in Las Vegas, and there he sat on his throne when the glory of The Trinity was felt.
It was unexpected, but he got down on his knees at once and greeted the pack of Alphas.
"Though our visit might be unexpected, it will be short and straight forward. You must have heard by now, the Pack—"
"Yes…" he said standing up. "I know"
"They say this pack is Alphaless, but how they are so strong is beyond us. But you must know what we are charged to do? We were selected centuries ago by the moon goddess, blessed with special abilities to bring, and ensure peace and balance for our kind, to achieve our goal we can be destructive, monstrous and indestructible. And this—"
"I understand, I'm rogue, yes, I can be a rebel, yes. But I'm not a monster…" Logan defended himself. They looked at each other with character lines of uncertainty running through their faces.
"That's ironic. And this Alphaless pack is proving indestructible, so you see, we are challenged…"
"I don't have a hand in this, I swear in the name of Selene!"
"Careful…" They said. "It has come to our notice, the demon vampire, they say, you don't know anything about her, do you?"
It was his chance to be free because they would come again, and trouble would someday come with them, but he would rather let everything about her be washed away from him.
    "No, I don't"
"She's dangerous and deadly, Alpha. We mustn't take any chances, she must be eliminated at once. Will you do your people the honor?"
"Huh? Um yeah, thanks" he throwed it without even thinking about it.
"Hmm. That is all for now, good times, we would be on our way. We will be in touch" and they left like they never came.
Logan sighed and went back to his seat. It was going to be a rough season and he could feel it as well as see it.
A few moments had passed since their departure and there were more guests, uninvited.
"Can I at least have this day alone?!" He said in a roar.
They cleft out of the dark, a decade number of them, including the Beta.
"Not anymore, Logan. There's no peace for you, not until we get settled"
"Twain Russ?!" Logan gasped, he trembled like he had seen a ghost, but more so because he actually had a hand in it. "It's- it's impossible" he stammered.
"You mean when you bit me and left me for dead but I actually became a monster like you, and carried your curse? But you know what's even more amazing, I can shift into a full wolf…" he let out a simple exalting smile "you should see me in my glory"
"Oh no, what have I done?" Logan said with a gulp, stepping down from the elevation to meet him face to face.
"I'm really disappointed in you, Logan. Even when I saved you from dying, you didn't even recognize me, let alone feel me. I'm your Beta, your one and only, and these here…" he turned to the pack. "Is your pack, your brothers and sisters"
"No, no…" Logan said shaking his head. "This isn't right. What you do isn't right and I will never have a hand in it! Ever!" He growled.
"Hmm, you think you have a choice?" Twain chuckled.
"Yes, I do. I'm the Alpha King! And I—"
"You're nothing without your pack and the kingship you so much desire is being occupied by someone else, the Alpha. We can help you get it, it's yours, he got his own pack and you will never beat them"
Logan took some steps back and his eyes transformed. "You think?"
"Do you want to what pain really is? I bet you can't beat us all, we will end you, Logan" Russ said with a growl, Logan growled back, gradually shifting…
"You're enemy to the Trinity and even the council of elders! I won't, and will never be your ally!"
"Ally? You don't even know what this is, do you? Maybe we have to beat some sense into you first" he parted his lips to show his large fangs.
"One more step and you will be dead in the next minute…"
They turned around to the voice's origin and saw Camila. She was in her blood sucking mode with a devilish smile.
The werewolves looked at each other, stepped back with growls.
Twain calmed down. "It will never be any less better Our Luna queen, or better still, the Alpha's abominable Luna…" he looked at Logan.
"The Trinity wants you to get rid of her…" Camila looked at Logan with widened eyes, Logan looked at her and steered his face away.
"Even if you don't do it, they will. You have a lot to lose, let's make it lesser for you"
"It's never going to be lesser but worst. We can't face the Trinity or even the council of elders"
"You don't get it. Your Luna queen—"
"She's not my Luna!" Logan cut him short.
"She killed one of our own—"
     "What? That's —"
"Don't tell me you don't remember. You were with my brother, Russ"
Camila gulped. Her eyes reddened with the saddening of her heart as she was reminded of her pain. She remembered Russ. "You knew he was out? And you didn't even try to- to—"
"To what? Hey brother, I died and resurrected? He rests in peace…" he turned to Logan. "You know how this works, she would have to die by the Alpha's claws—"
"You should have died in Cuba! And you went ahead to make a dozen werewolves?! Surely you have gone mad"
"Not yet. Swinston too, he went rogue but he was decieved by the Alpha—"
    "Which Alpha?" Logan questioned.
    "I don't know, he didn't tell me."
"He was going to tell me…" Logan said, sitting down on the step with his hands on his head. It was so much going on at once.
"Yes, until your half brother killed him"
"Don't call him my brother! Buck is not my brother"
    "Then what is he?"
Logan shook his head. "Why me?" He muttered to himself.
"But we have an offer… be our alpha, lead us as you should, and together we will be indestructible!"
Logan smiled. "You're a joke…" he said with a chuckle. "Haven't I made myself clear?"
"Yes, you did. And that is why we decided, if you won't accept to take your rightful position as our Alpha, then you would have to kneel before me and pronounce me Alpha before the pack, before I take your life from you…" he said with a comforting smile.
    Logan brushed away from them.
"I'll give you time to think about it. But, Logan, it's time to take back the throne, it's your birth right, it's time to get back to being a real werewolf, you have been with the human communities for a long time, come back to the world of yours, of your kind…" he smiled. "I'll be in touch" he walked out and the rest followed him.
"What are you going to do now?"
"It's none of your business" Logan replied abruptly.
    "I'm sorr—"
"It doesn't work that way, Camila. But it's not me you should worry about. Worry about yourself. Something big is coming, war is brewing, everything's changing…"
His things were already packed. "Huh? You're leaving your Castle?"
    "I'm not, just taking a break…"
"Where are you going then? I thought y'all home is here in Las Vegas?"
"No. Oregon is, and I'm going to think. They will come for you, never stop running. Goodbye, Camila Lipa" logan varnished. It was his goodbye.
Camila sighed. Unsure of what next to do or where to go, she might have lost it all but she has something now.
"Yeah, you're right. They will come for me, you too. I'm going to build my own army then…" she smiled. "It's time for vampires to live amongst us again. I'll protect you too, Logan… and our child"
