Chapter 68 ... Or For All The Wrong Reasons?

My eyes were constantly fixed to the back as we drove, luckily, he wasn't driving in full speed because I knew how much his car could run. The taxi driver had it's attention and spirit glued to the wheels, while I tried to maintain a sanely rush so that he won't be distracted, his surging distraction would flair up an unplanned consequence.
Cash was paid and my legs carried me into the hotel with an immediate dispense into my hotel room while ignoring Mandy's care;
"Hey, what's going on with you? Are you okay?" Her voice echoed.
My breathing wasn't subsided yet and I had no freedom dotting in my mind because of Logan Creed, the man I was sent to kill was gradually becoming a mystery man to me, for many facts than one!
He was a low life, but It was getting pretty obvious that his life wasn't so. He drove a fucking 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Cal Spyder?!
"Camila?" Her voice whistled in my ear. Time slowed down with the turning of the light's diming and driving my eyes to falter, and my breathing to be heavily heard in my ear, like a drum drawn close to an empty tank. Her voice shook me, necessitating an exhale, while a mild realization followed…
"Yes. Give me my keys" I demanded for my keys from Mandy, she was the only who had access to my room. She hurried up as I waited impatiently and in no time the keys dangled in my shaky hands. I felt like I was seeing a ghost. The words of the man came banging in my mind like a torment. He said he would kill me if our paths crossed again. But he couldn't even wait! He had come for me already, but that was nothing. What bothered me most as I unlocked the door in a jittery and plumed inside blocking out Mandy's figure from my eyes' reach was the fact that I had surprisingly became terrified just because of the man, the only man I had ever ran from.
"Who the fuck is he?!" I ran my fingers through my hair and back down on my face, scattering the glass bottles on the glass table, which fortunately didn't break, a clatter raised Mandy's voice from the other side.
"Are you okay!?" A muffled yell, and a bang on the door.
Down on the bed I slumped, thinking of about what had just happened. I chuckled, and a wrinkle in between my eyebrows followed, plus a mixed feeling of shame and ridicule "Did I just run away from that man?" My hand crept up to my chest in a bid to perceive the heart beat rate. "Damn" a feeling of regrettion swayed over my head.
Thought that I was finally getting to settle down and breath fine, but the disturbing turbulent beep of my phone resurrected the terrific drifting of my heart beat. I slipped it out from my bag, answered immediately and a breezy deep, husky voice emerged from the end.
"Hello, Camila" It felt like my memory cells mended? And I recognized his voice at once.
"What do you want from me?"
"Why are you running from me?"
"I don't want anything to do with you. Look what has happened has happened. I have moved on, so should you"
He repeatedly clicked his tongue. "Humans, how pathetic. You left your brother's corpse on the desert for the animals to feed on him. How could you ever find peace when you didn't let him rest in peace? You know what I want, Camila…"
"No, I don't know what you want, and I don't care. Take your theories and shit to yourself. I'm warning you now, Logan, stay off my grid" I was getting irritated already by him, and I was sure ready to fight him if necessary.
"Such big mouth. You have a big temper for a woman…"
"Glad you see that. That's more reason why you should stay off my grid. Trust me, I don't know how to take it easy… how did you even get my number?" I asked with a flinch.
"Oh, you're quite popular around here…"
"Huh…?" I rushed to the window parting the curtains a bit to reveal a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Cal Spyder parked on the road with one side of the tyres stooping at the side walk. His headlights flickered. "Shit" I growled.
"I have just one question for you, Camila"
"And I just have one answer for you… fuck you!" I abruptly ended the call and threw it out of the window.
I watched him steer out of the parking space into the road and away from the street.
The night would be a better one, so I perceived. Mandy didn't leave the door until It was time for bed. I couldn't think more of anything else than what Logan Creed would be doing next…
****
"Camila!"
"Huh?" She looked nervous and her vampires wondered if she was afraid of him too. but she had just been saved from memory prison...
"Shouldn't we run now that we have the chance?"
Camila chuckled. "Run for what? You must be crazy."
"You should take their advise" Logan interfered.
"Vegas is none of your business…"
"It's my home…"
"And it's my territory…I'm the Queen of Vegas."
"Quite a name you've made for yourself… it will only be a shame…" his eyes turned and his fangs were let out.
The vampires trembled. "Who— what is he?"
"Logan Creed… the Mafian lycan…"
"You know him?" They asked curiously with excessive fear.
Unhesitatingly, she replied. "I don't think so"
"Call off your bloodsuckers, stop these madness…"
"Or what?"
"Or there would be hell to pay, Camila."
"Hoped it wouldn't come to this. But this city is mine, Logan Creed! All mine!"
