Martina and Roberto sat in the car, her head was on Roberto’s shoulder, and his arms were around her. “Hm… Hm…” She groaned when the car bumped into potholes and bumps. She would run her hand on her neck in discomfort and grab him tighter. His smile was a sealed envelope as he kept his eyes on her face. She squeezed her face and furrowed her brows as she kept her eyes closed.
“Who told her drinking is a good idea?” Roberto looked at Bruno, who drove the car. “No one, Mr. Roberto. She decided to take a few shots, and I couldn't stop her afterward,” He responded, and Roberto took another look at her. Her facial expressions were very cute to him, and the way she grabbed him, was the cutest of all. She held unto him as she trusted and adored him, somehow, this made Roberto happy.
As they kept moving, he felt her skin harden under his palm, and he looked at her to see she had goosebumps all over her. He carefully moved her away from him and made her rest her back on the chair so that he could remove his Tuxedo. He removed the Tuxedo and moved her back to her initial position. He covered her with his tuxedo and patted her slowly. Martina who wasn't feeling comfortable raised her head all of a sudden and pouted. “I’m not comfortable.” Her voice was shaky like she wanted to cry, and Roberto raised his brows and divulged a broad smile. She was acting like a baby, and this seemed funny to him.
“Martina, we are still in the car. We have to get home before you can be comfortable, okay?” He replied, and she pinched her face even more. With her eyes still closed, she began to feel nauseous. She hugged her belly with one hand and the other was on her mouth.
“She wants to puke! Stop the car, Bruno!” Roberto yelled, and Bruno suddenly pressed the brakes, throwing them forward. “I’m sorry, Mr. Roberto,” He apologized after seeing the look on Roberto’s face through the interior mirror.
Martina gagged, and Roberto’s eyes widened. Bruno hurried out of the car and yanked the door, where Martina was, open. She struggled to get out of the car, her hand still on her mouth to avoid ruining Roberto’s pretty car with her vomit. She staggered to the back of the car and bent down as she vomited, making a loud blaargh. The other cars stopped behind their car, and the car that was in front was the one Vincenzo was in, Greco happened to be the driver.
The headlights helped them see what was going on in front. They saw Martina had Roberto’s tuxedo on, and he stood next to her. He began to rub her back slowly and everyone that watched couldn't believe their eyes. Greco covered his mouth with his hand as he divulged an “I-told-you” smile.
“Can you see for yourself now? This isn't Mr. Roberto we used to know. This is a new man, a new boss, a new Mr. Roberto.”
Vincenzo kept his eyes on Roberto and Martina as he listened to what Greco said. He felt his throat tighten up, and he didn't know why. But seeing them that way, he didn't feel good about it.
“You should be happy for our boss, he is finally in love! He wouldn’t be so hard on us anymore...” Greco added shifting his gaze to Bruno, who stood some meters behind Roberto. “I’m just scared for Bruno, I pray he doesn't get punished for this. This wasn't what we planned.” Vincenzo furrowed his brows and looked at him after his statement. “What do you mean this isn't what you planned?” He inquired.
“Well, the three of us, Martina, Bruno, and I came up with something that would prove to us that the boss truly feels something for her. We planned that she was going to dance with another man in front of him and even flirt with any unlucky guy to see how Mr. Roberto would react. Remember the boss hates involving in situations that aren't his business, or that don't bring in more money.” Greco looked at Vincenzo, and he saw he was paying rapt attention to him.
“Why did you stop talking? Continue,” Vincenzo said, and Greco giggled.
“So, we told ourselves that if he grew furious and fights the man she flirts with, then we have our answers. But if he didn't care, then we would know we are mistaken. The whole plan went wrong when Martina decided to take some shots of tequila to give her the courage to flirt with another man,” Greco heaved a sigh.
Vincenzo looked at them again, and he saw Roberto offer her some bottled water to rinse her mouth. “I don't the plan went wrong. We can see he loves her.” Vincenzo gulped as he spoke, and Greco nodded. “That is exactly my point, but she put Bruno in trouble. He could be punished for letting her drink.”
Vincenzo shook his head and looked at him again. He said, “If Martina talks to him about it, he would let Bruno go.” The tone of his statement made Greco look at him suspiciously. “Why do you sound sad? Shouldn’t you be happy he is finally in love? Maybe we would have a caring boss now.” Greco tapped Vincenzo’s shoulder, and he let out a sigh. “Hold on… don’t tell me you are in love with her too!” Greco yelled, and Vincenzo’s eyes broadened. “Keep your voice down, Moron!”
Greco busted into laughter and shook his head unbelievably. “So the boss has a rival? How did I not see this coming! This is going to be so much fun!” He hit the steering excitedly.
Roberto held Martina closely as they headed back to the car, he could hear her panting. He helped her into the car first and entered afterward. He sat at the corner and tapped his lap. “Lie down. You would feel more comfortable,” He said to her, and she bounced her head. She curled up in the seat and placed her head on Roberto’s thighs. His cologne filled her nostrils once again, and she sniffed it in aggressively. She let out a loud exhale, and Roberto chuckled. Bruno ignited the engine, stealing glances at them through the interior mirror. He could see love in Roberto’s eyes as he stared at her, and he felt butterflies in his belly.
“Why is he acting so cute?” Bruno wondered.
