Chapter 42 Yet Another Attempt
"You really frighten me," Shin says into Hyang's ear, hugging her even tighter. Hyang was stunned and frozen in place. His embrace, his words, his scent... everything about him hypnotizes the girl and causes Hyang's heart to race like a crazy. If she could, she would want to stay in his embrace forever.
Joon Woo, on the other hand, is enraged after seeing the detective hug his precious person. He tightened his fist and clenched his teeth. The student was desperate to punch Shin right away. At that moment, Joon Woo attempts to attack Shin, but Dae Jun, who stands beside him, grabs his arm and stops him.
At that point, the cops arrive and climb to the ferry while standing guard with their guns. Tens of them rummage all the way around the ferry and gather in a large group to apprehend the criminal. When the cops arrive on the main deck and surround Shin and the others, the undercover detective breaks Hyang's embrace. Shin strokes her hair tenderly before departing, then walks towards the police.
Dae Jun removed his hand from Joon Woo after noticing Shin had left. The two bestfriends approached Hyang and hugged each other. They were finally able to deal with the critical moment together.
"We already took the criminals and tied them in a safe place; I believe most of them are currently unconscious right now," Shin reports to the police chief.
The police officers who heard the situation and were rummaging the ferry were perplexed as to how a high school students could defeat armed criminals like that. Furthermore, they cause all of them to faint."I am sorry for what happened with my subordinate who doesn't recognize you detective," the police chief says formally to Shin. He is the only one who is aware of Shin's identity.
"It's fine; it's understandable because I always keep my identity hidden. In any case, who are they?" Shin inquires about the criminal. The police chief explains that they are wanted criminals who are currently on the run. They are cannabis distribution businesses. They appear to have discovered the ferry on their way out and intend to use it to disguise themselves.
The police evacuate everyone to the main deck shortly after apprehending all criminals. A helicopter arrives to evacuate Hyun Ki, who has become a victim of the accident. Shin, Tae Jo, Bo Ra, and the rest of the 'angel-devil' have gathered to assist in the evacuation of Hyun Ki, who may be in critical condition right now.
"I will accompany him to the hospital," Kang Bo Ra declares in front of the students, as she is the one who is treating him while waiting for assistance. Fortunately, because of her assistance, Hyun Ki does not lose too much blood, but he must undergo surgery to remove the bullet from his body.
Everyone agrees that Bo Ra, who appears to know more about medical science, should be the one to accompany Hyun Ki. Hyang and the others would immediately follow their best friend once the ship was anchored on the island. The other students, teachers, and staff who had been hiding could now see everything that was going on outside. They never imagined that the most troublemakers at their school would become the heroes who protect them from criminals.
Once they arrive in the land, Hyang and the others, as well as Shin, go to the hospital where Hyun Ki is being treated. When they arrived, the student's operation was not yet completed. Everyone is concerned about his situation and wishes Hyun Ki the best. At that time, Lee Hyun Ki's parents arrive to join them.
"What trouble did he cause that made him to be shot like that?" Hyun Ki's father is enraged to learn that his son is in trouble yet again. He and his wife must take time out of their busy schedules to travel all the way there.
"Trouble? Excuse me? What do you mean by that?" Hyang who doesn't feel happy with Mr Lee's word protest and approach him in an unpolite manner. She really doesn't like how Mr Lee regards Hyun Ki who always cause trouble for his family, when in fact, he is getting hurt in the proccess of helping other.
"What a scumbag! How could you be so rude to me?" Mr Lee was offended by Hyang's cold remark.
"What's the problem? I don't believe it is necessary to be polite to a man like you. You know nothing about Hyun Ki. Aren't you supposed to inquire about his current condition and become concerned about him rather than being enraged that he caused a problem for your family?" Hyang confronts the old man and silences Mr Lee with her words.
"Keep your cool, honey. Our son has been admitted in hospital "Hyun Ki's mother attempts to convince her husband. But Mr Lee is still enraged and glaring angrily at Hyang. Hyang and the other members are also staring at him coldly, ready to punch the old man. They despise Mr Lee for not caring about his own son.
"I apologize if my friend's behavior has offended you, sir... But I believe it is best for us to wait patiently for Hyun Ki. We should all pray for his recovery." Shin enters the fray and attempts to cool things down.
"Hyang-ah, talk to me for a minute..." Shin then takes Hyang away from the other because the girl is still upset. The two of them walk on the other side of corridor and take a place to talk in private.
"Hyang-ah, do you think Hyun Ki's parents don't care about him?" Shin carefully questions Hyang.
"Didn't you hear what he said? Hyun Ki was just a nuisance to him!" The girl is still very upset about it. Shin in a contrary smile in response to her reaction. She cares so much about her friend that anything that might harm her friend would irritate her right away.
"Mr Lee, I believe, simply has a sharp tongue and genuinely cares about Hyun Ki, after all, he is his son. Why do you think Hyun Ki's parents travel such a long distance to see their son if they are unconcerned about him?" Shin is attempting to persuade the high school girl. Sometimes a parent will treat their children poorly in front of them, but deep down inside their hearts, they care and love them.
Hyang diverts her gaze toward the Lee's couple. Mrs Lee seem to holding her tears of the thought of Hyun Ki while Mr Lee hugging his wife and stroking her arm. Hyang focus on Mr Lee gaze and somehow can see that there is a great concern in his eyes. Maybe Shin is right. Mr Lee is actually care about Hyun Ki but he simply don't know how to show it properly to his son.
"Let's go now," Shin says as he leads Hyang back to the other.
Hyun Ki's operation was finally completed after hours of waiting. He is immediately transferred to his room for a rest period. Everyone is still holding out hope for Hyun Ki to awaken. Fortunately, the student has already recovered from his critical condition. Late at night, Hyun Ki finally awakens, making everyone very happy.
Hyun Ki would never have expected to see his parents waiting for him. When he became conscious, his mother immediately embraced him. Mr Lee, on the other hand, simply stood beside his wife, staring at Hyun Ki. The son is looking at his father awkwardly; it 's weird for them to be in the same room together. After all, they are always fighting and bickering whenever they meet. It is the first time they have spent time together in a relaxed environment. Mr Lee makes the first move to approach his son, awkwardly tapping Hyun Ki on the shoulder and making the mother smile.
Everyone returns home the following day. The school has already informed all of the parents about the accident that occurred on the ferry. All of the Kang family members are waiting for Dae Jun when he arrives at his family house. Mr Kang immediately gets up from his chair and walks over to Dae Jun, hugging him. He has been very concerned about Dae Jun's condition since learning what happened to him. Mrs Kang, on the other hand, appears irritated to see her step son receiving a great affection from her husband. She was attempting to construct a thick barrier between the father and son. However, it crumbles immediately. She is extremely envious.
"Are you okay, my son?" Mr Kang inquires of Dae Jun. The students awkwardly nod. Mr Kang hasn't expressed his feelings for him in a long time. Dae Jun is then taken to dinner by his father.
Joon Woo, on the other hand, has just arrived home and discovered that his father is standing right in front of the front door. The father and son are simply staring at each other. The yakuza family's leader nods and walks away after observing Joon Woo's condition. Mr Han's insignificant gesture perplexes Joon Woo. Previously, his father would not have cared if Joon Woo never returned home. But this time, it appears that his father is waiting for him on purpose, which is unusual for him.
Myung Sik immediately embraces his mother upon entering the house. His mother is very concerned about him and is relieved to see that her only son has returned home in good health. She is unable to hold back her tears because her emotions are mixed with a variety of concerns that effect her.
Meanwhile, Hyang is walking with Shin on her way home. They are both deafeningly quiet. Hyang recalls the incident when Shin tightly embraces her on the ferry deck. She recalls the way he looks at her and the complicated feelings she felt inside her heart.
Hyang secretly observes Shin and notices that the man is only concerned with the road. She takes a deep breath before shifting her attention to Shin's hand. Hyang slowly takes his hand in her and grips it tightly. She closed her eyes in anticipation of Shin yanking his hand and disappointing her. In contrast to her fear, Shin held her hand back and let the two of them walk hand in hand. It makes the girl happy while also bewildering her. Hyang then came to a halt, causing the man to do the same. Shin turns around to face her, while Hyang looks him in the eyes.
"What made you do that?" She demands an explanation from Shin, who is willingly holding her hand, as well as the reason for the previous man's hug. Shin simply observes her expression while remaining silent. Her eyes are filled with hope.
"You previously stated that my feelings for you could be fleeting and would fade away. But how could my feelings for you just fade away when you treat me like this? Why are you looking at me with such tenderness in your eyes? You make me think you might be feeling the same way I am..." Hyang attempts to express her feelings and confusion about the man. Shin slowly drew his hand away and broke their holding hand, lowering his gaze to look at their separated hand.
"Nan saranghae (I love you)..." For the second time, Hyang makes a confession in front of the man. Shin is taken aback by her words and turns to face her. Her expression only conveys sincerity. The girl is being honest about how she feels.Download Novelah App
